  • BAD WITCH.......

    :P

    ;)

  • Unreal skill

  • is it wrong if i watched this because it sounds funny without all the instuments?

  • Too bad he doesn't sound like this live.. or like this since even before "painkiller" it's a shame that his voice took and awful turn.. but he's still a metal god!

    Go Judas!

  • @douglasyajuris Actually he sounds better live.

  • @Krazlo i think he used to sound better live, no question about that. but not to date, sorry, just see his live preformance before and after. (i.e: screaming for vengence tour - defenders of the faith tour) and you will see what im trying to explain =).

but still, halford is harlford...no need to discuss there,,

  • better vocalist of all time

  • I died of laughter at :32

  • @LameStaley ?????

  • @acca2esse I was laughing because it sucks so bad.

  • buenisimo, como isiste que suene solamente la voz?

  • Just picture him in the washroom shouting from a stall :D

  • 10/5 ......................

  • Whats with all the REVERB?! lol

  • and my metal friends these r called BALLS BALLS BALLS

  • REVERB

  • 2:01 holy hellish fuckin yeah

  • The end of the scream at 1:26 sounded a bit like Araya?

  • @johnthegreek178 Now you know where Araya got it from ;)

  • @DoubleTalkingJive And halford got it from Gillan (the screaming thing) :D

  • @johnthegreek178 Gillan and Plant, and I am sure they got some inspiration from James Brown.

  • Por canciones como esta Rob Halford es el Dios del Metal.

  • 5:37 CAN'T STOP THE 5:40 PAINKILLEEEEEEEEE ( Twenty sec later) eeeeer... WOW that is imposible.... for human beings.

  • @V7kronos and for studio beings

  • @V7kronos randy blythe can scream longer than that..nothing away from halford

  • @pifa4life Do not even try to compare, He is the metal God !

  • @V7kronos blythe is the modern version of halford

  • @pifa4life Can't scream as long as Eric Adams, of Maynard James Keenan...............

  • @DavidKinner he can scream better............

  • @pifa4life Randy Blythe scream better than Maynard and Eric Adams? You're fucking joking right?

  • @DavidKinner nope..he has more range and more ability

  • @pifa4life Randy Blythe can't even sing...

  • @pifa4life and has nowhere close to the range that Eric Adams has.........

  • @DavidKinner LOL

  • @pifa4life So I'm guessing you really aren't serious? lol one person I have yet to see a video of, that must have quite the range is Stu Block, death metal screams, sings wicked good, and can scream up there with Halford.

  • @DavidKinner no i was serious..his range and abilities are the best, i have never heard anyone even close. Thats my opinion on actual "screaming" gutteral vocals

  • @pifa4life On actual screaming, and gutteral vocals, I would say Mike Patton has his ass beat. lol, but that is my opinion.

  • @pifa4life

    Kid, Rob sucks live.

He was never capable of singing in high register.

He sounds like a baby crying.

Eric Adams is better singer both in studio and live, and Rob can't come close enough to be compared with Eric.

Eric is the man, not Rob.

  • @WishmasterTheDark cool beans

  • @WishmasterTheDark are you kidding me? it's just a question of a oppinion. Rob halford does not suck live he's amazing and still rocking today!

  • @JohnnyBoj89

Opinion? It's a matter of fact.

Just because you are a fanboy doesn't mean that he is good live singer.

There is no live version of Painkiller where Rob actually doesn't sound like a baby crying.

Also, any other live performance where he tries to sing in a higher register turns into an epic fail.

  • @WishmasterTheDark really? that is what u think right? its all matter of oppinion i think halford is better i've seen him life in london and at vacken in germany he sounded awesome. and what factu have really? i would really like to know it

  • @JohnnyBoj89

Yeah you saw him live, and there's no chance that you can admit that he sucks, 'cause you are a fanboy.

Just visit Judas priest's official web-site, and there's live version of Painkiller for free stream.

Alsodo some research here on YouTube, there are so many different live versions of that song from 1990, 1991, 2004 etc.

    Now fuck off.

  • @WishmasterTheDark why are you getting all mad? Halford sounds great live, he sounded shit in the 90's but in 2003/4/11 he sounds amazing

  • @WishmasterTheDark Halford sounded completely amazing live in the 70's and the 80's on all notes, sometimes even making them high notes much better and more frequent in the live versions, and if you compare Eric Adams to Rob in the 80's he is not matched to Rob at all, pretty close though, but since the 90's It seems Rob has some good performances some bad, and his high notes are on a lot of times, but honestly besides maybe one performance, i don't think i ever heard a good live Painkiller from

  • @WishmasterTheDark Judas Priest, unless Tim "Ripper" Owens singing it........

  • @WishmasterTheDark You ask me I say Geoff Tate, and Bruce Dickinson outshine both Adams, and Halford, but that's just my opinion.

  • @DavidKinner

Bruce Dickinson? Are fucking kidding me? I mean, 666 The Number of the beast, was that a scream at all? Be quick or be dead? Aahaha that is an epic fail singer. Come on, he sounds really annoying while attempting to sing in higher register in any other song, no way man. He is much more for Rock music, like his solo on song Tatooed Millionaire. He sounds great on that song. Adams owns him, anytime. I'm not into Queensryche, so I can't tell about that guy.

  • @WishmasterTheDark Epic fail? Listen to Run to the Hills, listen to Hallowed be thy name, where eagles dare, no more lies, moonchild, all these songs by Iron maiden, I got all their albums, NOBODY sounds like him, and can do what he does, which is the case for a lot of singers. Rob also, is not annoying, neither one of them are. You should try Take Hold of the Flame, Eyes of a Stranger, and Queen of the Reich, also Eric Adams, is kind of overrated a bit, by the people who know of him I mean look

  • @WishmasterTheDark do you know who Eric Adams watched, and admired for the vocals he had, to learn what he did? Now I don't think anybody can really outscream Ian Gillan at least when he was in his prime, and up until a good amount of the 80s into the 90's, guys completely amazing, and still has it somewhat. Matt Barlow is great too.

  • @DavidKinner

Rob and Bruce are overrated, Eric is not. He is underrated so much.

I listened to lots of Iron Maiden songs, so I know what I'm talking about. Bruce is not good quality singer. Rob has annoying screams in songs Hell Patrol and All Guns Blazing. He sucks live, I'm not sure for his earlier performances, but he was not capable singing painkiller in the year when it was released and onwards, also some other songs.

  • @WishmasterTheDark Rob and Bruce are far from overrated especially Bruce, and have you heard Bruce's solo albums too? Eric Adams isn't very versatile. Bruce and Rob however both are. When Rob did Painkiller in the studio they most likely had to keep trying it over and over, but I have never heard Eric Adams be able to attempt something as hard as Painkiller ever? Also, why don' you actually try listening to Judas Priest live when he was not already in his 40's like Victim of Changes,

  • @WishmasterTheDark Exciter, Dreamer Deceiver, Freewheel Burning, and pretty much anything from both the Sad Wings of Destiny Album, or Screaming for Vengeance. Bruce and Geoff Tate are both operatically trained singers, and Eric Adams, is literally nothing compared to them.

  • @DavidKinner

Dude, listen to Nessun Dorma, Black Wind, Fire And Steel, Dark Avenger, Master Of The Wind, GATES OF VALHALLA. Wait, just listen to that fucking song. Imagine Rob or Bruce doing that. Hahahahaa no! Listen to any song from Into Glory Ride, the best example of Eric's vocal ability.

  • @DavidKinner

What Rob did was just hitting high notes after singing the words. Eric sings the words and hits high notes. For example scream in song Tyrant.

  • @WishmasterTheDark Your sentence just said that him, and Rob both do the exact same thing, and Rob does that in some songs, not all songs, listen to Dreamer Deceiver, and Deiceiver, he sings softly in Dreamer Deceiver, and screams in Deceiver in high register an entire verse, and I have heard all of these songs already none of them are all that impressive. I know Eric's vocal ability, and it doesn't match Rob or Bruce.

  • @WishmasterTheDark and to me imagining Rob or Bruce singing that, um yeah Rob in his younger years could have very easily sang all of Gates of Valhalla pretty easily, with more high notes.....so I really don't see what he is doing that nobody has done before?

  • @DavidKinner

    AHahhahaaaa!

You are complete idiot. bye bye

I mean, yeah, just enjoy these vocalists who appear in every Metal Hammer release where their fanboys praise them. Ahahaha shat a shame.

  • @WishmasterTheDark I like them, but you wonder why many people see Manowar as a joke. People like you who try and praise them above the metal Gods.

  • @DavidKinner

Posers see Manowar as a joke. Not Metalheads.

  • @WishmasterTheDark No metalheads see the bands that hardly anybody knows about that actually have close to the same amount of talent, or more as the people like Bruce and Rob. You ask Eric Adams himself, and he'll tell you he thinks of himself as nothing compared to Halford, Dickinson, Dio, Gillan, and many others.

  • @DavidKinner

Did you talk with Eric, because you know all this stuff.

He likes Dio so much, so why should he bitch something bad about him?

Just because Manowar doesn't appear in every release of Metal Hammer, and just because glamers and their fans hate Manowar because they call them False Metal and just because some thrashers hate Manowar doesn't mean that they are not better than others in Heavy Metal. JP became huge because of their blues, classic rock, hard rock/pop shift TURBO

  • @WishmasterTheDark Know I have watched many interviews with him, and he isn't an arrogant asshole to give his praise to people who obviously were, and will always be better than him, and is just happy to play metal, and they are a joke between most metal magazines because their music isn't anything new, or anything special at all, their lyrics are cheesy, and shitty, and the only thing really good about their band is there singer. That's pretty much it.

  • @DavidKinner

Manowar's lyrics cheesy? Did you read JP's lyrics? "I'm your turbo lover, Tell me there's no other, I'm your turbo lover Better run for cover" "Here they come, gods of steel, Megatron" "Night riders, Death dealers, Storm bringers, Tear up the ground" Just because you, and most of other people don't understand Manowar's lyrics that doesn't make them cheesy. Even if they wanted, they can't write crappy lyrics like JP. Their music is nothing new?

  • @WishmasterTheDark Are you going to do something besides using the few pop stuff that Judas Priest made to backup every one of your arguments? Or are you going to look at the stuff they did that was actually good? Manowars lyrics are incredibly cheesy. Hardly ever anything with feeling almost always something about Thor, or something stupid as fuck, no offence. Their music wasn't anything new, anything original, they didn't bring anything new to the table for heavy metal at al Manowar.

  • @DavidKinner

About Thor only? that's probably 'cause you heard few songs from Gods Of War album. This clearly shows that you have no idea what are you talking about. This proves that you are just another typical no lifer troll.

  • @WishmasterTheDark No actually I have 10 Manowar albums, I like them, but between the majority of people who like them, they are incredibly overrated, I never said about Thor only I said about something epic, and stupid as fuck, because the majority has no feeling, and most of their songs they sing with feeling, weren't written by them.

  • @DavidKinner

Dude get your head out of your ass. Manowar is one of the most underrated bands in history of Heavy Metal bands. They didn't receive much attention in 80's because they hated that USA scene where Hard Rock bands were labeled as Classic Heavy Metal, they insulted them, radio stations didn't play Manowar, now magazines don't put anything about Manowar, 'cause they are not popular enough, so they won't earn much with release where they are featured

  • @WishmasterTheDark Typical people who know nothing about music get angry, start bitching, and tell you get your head out of your ass, you hear me insult your intelligence, which may/may not exist. First heavy metal bands to use Orchestras? Deep Purple 1970..........I had not known Manowar was around before 1970, wow, because they somehow did something before anyone else when they came out in the 80's that was already done in 1970, but Manowor did it first.

  • @DavidKinner

Deep Purple used keyboards, not symphonic arrangements, and they are belong to Rock music, not to Heavy Metal music. That argument is simply pointless. Find better one.

  • @WishmasterTheDark Also, all this orchestral style metal was already played by bands like Rush, and King Crimson to an extent, and the whole progressive rock scene had tons of bands that were just as heavy as Manowar, and Deep Purple was just as heavy as Manowar, and similar, and their singer was Eric Adams entire inspiration that was, and still is a better singer, so where is this originality you are talking about?

  • @DavidKinner

Well done, you don't know the difference between Rock and Heavy Metal sound. Dude, you don't know this simple difference. Hahahahaa! And yet still keep bitching on. Go on now, impress me.

Rush, King Crimson, Deep Purple, yeah, soo Heavy Metal ahahhaa!

  • @WishmasterTheDark Have you ever even heard King Crimson? They made the first heavy metal song 21st Century Schizoid Man, sorry your head is so far up Eric Adams ass. Rush, and Deep Purple, are two of the first heavy metal bands to exist, you look up greatest heavy metal albums what do you always see Paranoid, Black Sabbath Vol. 4, MACHINE HEAD. Rainbow was also heavy metal. There's honestly no point trying to have an intelligent conversation with an unarmed man.....

  • @DavidKinner

Black Sabbath is the very first Heavy Metal band. Other bands you mention are not Heavy at all. Rainbow is Rock too, dude, you know nothing about Heavy Metal. From vocals discussion till now, your knowledge about Heavy Metal music is far below 0. Congratulations. Hahahaha!

  • @WishmasterTheDark Agreed, there is no discussion. Black Sabbath was the first metal band!

  • Comment removed

  • @DavidKinner In Rock > Machine Head

  • @stgm I agree, I was just using an example of what is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time, I like both Made in Japan, and Scandinavian Nights better than both. Their albums with Coverdale I think were amazing too!

  • Comment removed

  • @DavidKinner Nothing similar? They are a band that took the type of singing of Ian Gillan, and mixed it with progressive rock influences, they have no influences? Rainbow, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, all these bands influenced them.

  • @DavidKinner

You can't hear that in their music, besides Black Sabbath influence which is a must for every Heavy Metal band. They laid foundation for Symphonic Metal, they were the first band to use orchestrations in Heavy Metal, they have unique sound, power, energy like no other bands have. They influenced Bathory a band which thanks to Manowar made Viking Metal, nd many bands came after that. They influenced some Thrash Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Power Metal, Classic Heavy bands

  • @DavidKinner

Well, for all these years I never heard anything similar to Manowar, and there's no band I can say for sure that served as Manowar's influence. They have their unique style through all these years.

  • @WishmasterTheDark Wanna hear a crazy singer most metalheads should know about listen to Nazareth try the song Beggars day, and the majority of the albums Hair of the Dog, Razamanaz, and No Mean City.

  • @DavidKinner

Bruce Dickinson is not a trained singer.

  • @BlackenedThunder Yeah, you're right I actually forgot where I had heard that from before, but he is still way better than Eric Adams.

  • Comment removed

  • @BlackenedThunder He is now!

  • @chefmastershake I tried to reply to your comment I saw in your email, but it was taken down, Black Sabbath indeed all around, was the first metal band. Deep Purple's first album with Gillan was a more blues, and classically influenced hard rock album, however Machinehead came out after Black Sabbath, and was indeed, and still is considered today to be one of the greatest HEAVY METAL albums to date.

  • 1:26 King Diamond as fuck

  • @DecoSBoss

that scream was not falsetto, if you want to know...

you can clearly hear how he descends from head voice to chest voice without cracking, clear head voice...

  • @guitartur It's entirely possible to have a clean transition from falsetto to modal voice. Just a matter of technique. But you're right, it doesn't sound like falsetto.

  • akward silence detected....

  • Shit! How Rob Halford did this in 1:06 . Vocals like guitar!

  • @mateush998

    I hope you're not serious

  • @80sMeavyHetal Just stupid jocking :)
