Here in Arizona, you take an 8 hour class (prices for that vary depending on where you go), get your fingerprinting done, (none of the police agencies here do it, however the City Department of Public Records offers it for $6), you then mail the prints, completed and stamped form you were given by your instructor and cash or check for $60 to DPS, and you get the permit within 14 days. In AZ, a permit is optional for a CCW with our new law, but when I turn 21, I'm getting one, just to be safe.
It is crazy that you need to wait so long for your license to get to you. I had to wait 4 weeks but here in Michigan(Ottawa County) you need to go in front of a review board that meets on the first Thursday of each month. You go into a room and get questioned by the State Police, Sheriff's Dept., and County Prosecutor and if you pass the prior background check and their questions then you get your license when you walk out of the room. Crazy hah.
If I'm not mistaken that is a Taurus 1911 and a damn nice one. They have a certain look if you know what to look for but I have heard nothing but good things.

and our targets were blue (i got mine hanging in my room).
and don't be a badass and try to headshoot your silhouette, if you miss the instructor can fail you.

Which Glock is that and is that a cross breed holster? how do you like it and can you do a vid on it? I am very interested in that rig for myself. I have a CWP (CCW) in FL and it is even easier to get than in LA. Almost 10% of the population in FL have a CWP.

i lived in south dakota and it was so easy to get a ccw. i had an interview with a satelite photo facility for armed security. one of the requirements for the job was to have a ccw. all i had to do was go to the courthouse and fill out a paper then pay 10 bucks. wait 2wks and bam you got your license. easy peasy. now i live in arizona. gotta find out how to get one here. i know we can open carry here.
wow our state really isn't that bad plus i think we can pretty much carry in almost every state. however i find it retard that new orleans parish police will take your firearm if you have no receipt for your firearm while transporting it in your car through the city.
@jayrod68 I don't think they can legally do that. I guess the city of NO has there own laws. That would be crazy because who carries the receipt? WOW!!!! Thanks for the heads-up, I will call the NO police department before I travel in the city again.

@thecajunblaze Yeah brother I go to the county sheriffs office give the chic at the desk cleark $10 show her my drivers liscense and a quick 1 page paper telling my address phone number id that stuff. she hands me a paper copy. then 2 weeks later if you get accepted a hard copy is issued from the state capital. NO CLASS NO HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS NO BULLSHIT just $10 bucks and a fed background check. that also is good in about 30 some states and it allows me to buy a hand gun in 5 mins
Is the ccw license good for life are do you have to renew it?
