Can you give me your opinion and experience about the onkyo integra dx-706-BH i have since 2 days from a friend who had it and did not used it ( got plastics - white paper cover unit - original box - invoice - all . ... is it a an audiophile stuff or a medium qualite only ? thks to answer me
@hakemon I know the 706 model is similar of your 702 model and cause you seem to know ny heart your model maybe you can tell me his best's and his less qualities as a cd player . Just maybe if you wish ?
@MrCanadianPride There's too many differences to compare the two.. The DAC is different and the optical pickup is different too. The 702 uses the KSS210a pickup while the 702 uses NEC SPU3011.
@MrCanadianPride Correction, the 706 uses the NEC SPU3011. DAC wise however, the 702 uses a MN6472, while the 706 uses dual SM5861AP and SM5813AP. Too many differences.
@hakemon Hope I have a quality cd player ( last sunday 2/19/2012 I paid 80$ for my new 706 ) and now I must check on the web if I will keep this component as a hifi player for my sound system in my living room . Thanks for your help i apreciate very much :)
@MrCanadianPride I'm sure it will be fine.. It's more of an amp thing weather something sounds good or not. In the 90's, almost everything sounded good. Of course, my Sony CDP-101 has the most unique sound I feel, but most people can't tell the difference from one CD player to the next, and ends up being more of how an amplifier performs over another.
Wow! Cool video! I bought a DX-703 a few years ago for $8 at a local thrift store. It's been an excellent player. I am thinking about utilizing the digital out and buying an external DAC for it soon. Thanks for the awesome video!
