@williepie Maybe because you don't use biceps to do push-ups. The prime movers are triceps (back of upper arm), pecs (chest) and anterior deltoid (front of shoulder).
I'm embarrassed that I don't have a decent digital camera, cam, nor the money to afford one. I'm getting DSL, Fallout 3, and a few other things. I have my crappy and cheap Aiptek digital camera. I'm now working on pushup crawls.
And a push up crawl is like doing a push up but leaving your legs dead and flat on the floor. And lifting yourself up with your arms and moving and crawling just using your arms.
Really good for the arms and pecs. And for the whole upper body.
I like to see some videos of you and others not doing push ups but of doing some isometric exercises. Especially, weighted isometrics...like the isometric bench press. Like in my routine I did 150lbs and locked and held for 15 seconds...off the rack and 1/4th down too. The optimal muscle stimulation area. After a rest, I did 160lbs and locked and held for 12 seconds. Then after a rest, and down 1/4th the area at 170lbs and at 10 seconds for intensity. then I did isometric reverse dips.
try doing that much slowly
