  • I think electricity is way more important than computers... Plus religion was a crappy invention. It gets used by mighty people in warfare and it is very primitive.

  • Aztecs in Agriculture, and the Mayas on math and astronomy...!!

  • @fleiva30 No Mesopitamians on Agriculture and Babylonians on Astronomy.

  • This list is pretty dreadful. "Religion" & "Laws" & "Cities"? So, human culture & civilization? Yeah, that was a pretty good invention... kind of an insanely broad category, though.

"Time"? I think you mean clocks or a particular calendar? Time is a qualitative feature of reality, not a human invention.

My favourite has to be "tools." Seriously? "Tools?" So, EVERYTHING else on the list?

    Yeesh...

  • time is measured by the movement of our planet in relation to the sun. thus it's a human invention. animals don't think like this thus it's a human invention. get smart people.

  • @maxgunn555 time is a natural phenomenon. try calculating velocity or acceleration without time.

  • @LasagnaIsGood even though it's natural it still requires a human to perceive it. just like there are certain radio waves that animals can see floating through the air which we can't. try getting a hamster or a dolphin to think about calculating velocity on a piece of paper. see.

  • @maxgunn555 Time doesn't require a human to perceive it.

You think time came into being when the first human was born? Before that all events happened at once? Gravity didn't exist before Newton? Atoms came into being only as Rutherford and Bohr discovered them?

  • @zammmerjammer 'You think time came into being when the first human was born?' no - just like i dont think the light bulb was invented as soon as thomas edison was born. actually yes atoms too are a human invention. in the future a human may prove that theory wrong. it depends if count scientific discoveries as human inventions. the laws of maths have always existed but they're still a human invention and it is progressed by humans so you could say it is a human invention.

  • @maxgunn555 Atomic theory is not going to be proved "wrong." It will be refined and expanded upon but it has already been experimentally verified a zillion times and forms the foundation of modern physics.

Hence why the human invention was clocks or a calendar, not time.

  • @zammmerjammer 'hance why the huamn invention swas clocks' = how does that follow from the first part of your sentence... bit of a non sequitor. atomic theory could be proven wrong in the far future. we don't know what dark matter is, maybe that would change everything understanding it. string theory, parralel universes could all change the theory of items. i agree it will be 'expanded upon' i guess but this could also mean changing the theory and thats what i mean if it's expanded upon drastic

  • @maxgunn555 Quantum physics didn't prove Newtonian physics "wrong," it just showed that the universe was a bit more complex than we'd previously thought, especially at extremely small scales.

How is it an non-sequitur? We were discussing whether or not time needs a human to perceive it. As an example I talked about atomic theory, which along with the technology it made possible, is a human invention but atoms are not. The two are analogous.

  • @zammmerjammer yeah im talking about the possibility that it could. i didnt say quantum physics did. just don't think the hence was appropriate. it was more a separate point.

  • this video SUCKs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very stupid video, so tell me who invented life, history, growing old and death!?

  • @andreysim Life is a product of a chemical reaction probably, growing old and death are products of evolution, and history is our scribes/historians/etc keeping documenting civilized existence.

  • @nfsfilms dont mind i understand human invention

  • @nfsfilms but life, history, growing old, and death were never invented there all inevitable its like trying to justify that dirt was invented

  • Unfortunately some of you don't understand time is actually real and it isn't just something people made up. It is quite literally tangible, most of you think it is constant and fluid in motion, too bad it isn't. Fact gravity and motion/speed effects time, study why they purposely set clocks on satellites wrong you might learn something. Maybe read the definition of space/time and why it's called that LOL

  • FIRE WASN'T INVENTED IT WAS DISCOVERED

  • Yeah the list sucks. For one tools are more important then a ton of things you list as more important. I would say... fire, cooking, cutting/piercing edges, toolmaking, animal domestication, agriculture, housing... and then the rest you can pretty much blow out your ass. And here's a tip. If you had called it 'measuring time' then oya... pretty much one of the more important ones.

  • umm, fire, agriculture, etc. are discovery's, not inventions. Inventions are something you come up with, not discover... and refrigerators are kinda more important than planes because i think eating is more important than flying or travelling by air, there are other ways to travel. this video is stupid... :$

  • Trying to be subjective here, your list seems a little off. You had a good idea, and I agree with some of the choices, but the music is poor and 'fire' doesn't seem to fit. Also, why is the bomb so important? I don't think it belongs on this list- it doesn't actually help humanity.

  • Fuck you I hate your list you got it wrong And we didn't invent time or fire, fire was mad by accident from lightning and time is time so fuck you and yes I am trolling by this "video" needed it oh and fuck you

  • @speedymkflash Who shit in your cornflakes?

  • @nfsfilms had a bad day this video made it worse

  • @speedymkflash you're an idiot. time is a human invention.

  • smoke alarm

  • i thought planes were more important than fridges....

  • @louluv666 Well, you try keeping your food good without a fridge/freezer.

  • Religion? Time? Ummm not inventions... This video is gay

  • @brlamb5 Okay, I'll accept that time can be viewed as an invention or a discovery or a constant in our universe or the fourth dimension or whatever you wish. But Religion on the other hand, is an invention to explain the unexplainable and give meaning for our existence to those who need a reason to be alive.

  • Didn't read all the comments but has anyone else noticed the lack of "Domestication of Animals" (i.e. livestock, fowl, or work animals. pets are cool too)

  • You friggin forgot tue radio

  • Time does exist. I define it as an interval of change.

  • lol....what a dirty mind i have...hh....i ignored the song like whatever and than...."I wanna do bad things with you" 01:08

  • you're wrong.. the best invention ever made was a book. And the second best invention is a pencil, and they did not invent fire? they discovered it!

  • @ducky105105

No the best invention was the printing press, not a book.

  • man did not invent fire, they discovered it. this whole list is obscenely bogus lol along with the trueblood song

  • at 3:38, look at the center of the image..it looks like a face of grendel to me.I think youre wrong, the greatest invention in the world is the Language. We cannot understand each other unless we dont have language.Language is important because it is used to communicate, to understand, to command and etc. and without it we may not understand each other like a animal.

  • no tesla inventions??? if we actually put all of his ideas into use this world would not be as chaotic as it is today. Greatest inventor to ever walk the face of this planet you call earth Nikola Tesla for those of you who don't know who that is I suggest you rub you find flint and build yourself a fire and get with the program. Most of the inventions listed in this are fuckin retarded a city is not an invention nor is time time has always been here

  • idk man, i liked your picks so much that i had to favorite this video.

  • for tools you should have shown the monkey from 2001:A space oddysy, or Billy Ray Cyrus

  • only god can invent agriculture!

  • ehh could be placed better but good over all video

  • Top 31 Inventions ----- Airbags Jump Belt

  • lol time isnt an invention

  • @themegapacman

Time doesn't exist, we invented it's idea.

Like I said: Time is just an abstract thought of keeping track of existence.

  • @nfsfilms That's our label for it, the universe is still getting "older"

  • @nfsfilms except time does exist , thats basically what Einstein was saying , how mass and speed effect time and space

  • @nfsfilms That's like saying "We invented the third dimension"...time isn't some weird human construct -- its always been there, we just perceive it a certain way. Saying "time doesn't exist" is just plain silly.

  • @nfsfilms time exists and we just track it using our own thought and contraptions to record whats happening throughout time and to know which point of time it is to help us( because of course the knowing the time means you know when to go to work or school etc.)

  • @nfsfilms Dosen't it? You can consider time the forth axis to space, acording to string theory it isn't the forth, but u get the idea. Tridimensional space shifts along time. Doesn't space exist? Anyway, religion sure is an invention, but i'm sure it's one of the worst, but if you consider bombs to be at the top 30, i get you. We view the world very differently thou.

  • @nfsfilms Time does exist... It is measured in seconds and given units by the time taken for light to travel around 30000000 meters. So not, time is not just an abstract though, it can be quantitatively measured. Saying that we invented the idea is ludicrous. We could of at most have only discovered time, and that argument is also pretty poor.

  • @Kawagata

No time does not exists as such. WE agreed that "the time taken for light to travel around 30000000 meters" but we could have agreed on any other distance.

  • @paladinee No? You're confusing the measurement of a unit and its unit size. Just because a meter is a man-made unit does not mean that length does not exist as we can infer from your statement.

Furthermore, the reason that light was chosen as a reference was because of it's unchanging speed in a vacuum. So no, it's not exactly arbitrary either. Please don't use a social science perspective to try and argue in fields that pertain to empirical science.

  • @paladinee

P.S.S: Time is widely agreed upon by most physicists as the fourth dimension or the fourth parameter in a real world cartesian coordinate reference. Try to entertain the idea that you're literally missing out on a whole field of knowledge. To suggest that time does not exist in both insulting and baffling. Please don't weasle out of this by saying that you were just referring to the word time as being arbitrary because that is cowardly at best. The concept of time is very real.

  • @Kawagata

Depends on your defenition of time. Messured time as we use in everyday activites is a human invention. Clear example being that there has been many dif. calanders in history. A calander been a form of mesuaring time. Now if you use Newtons "Principia Mathematica" you can say time is lineal and always advances at a determend rate/speed, but after 1915 you have to change that idea on time.

  • @Kawagata

Now, a black hole absorbs light around it, so does time stand still, inside the black hole? Are black holes even black? Since quantum physics says fielsa cant be null so no they cant be "black". Were was I, dam lost myself into thinking about time/space.

  • lol invent time? xD

hahaha gigles, and religion, shit we would be at minimum 300-2000 years ahead in scientific knowledge and technology whit out it:P

and thermonuclear warheads not realy that gr8 of an invention, only productive thing would be to blow away meteors, so yeah, this is kind of a shitty list:P

half of the things are discoveries and not inventions to start with :P

  • But women?

  • laws were developed not invented

  • jajaja religion! shit..that was the worst one! silly order though

  • @nlnl2009nlnl Yeah, but at the time of it's creation, not the new ones, but the ancient neolithic ones and early ancient ones, it did some beneficial things. And why is the order silly?

  • @nfsfilms its just i cant find the logical order there...you place planes before metallurgy...and far away from railways...i mean..may be placing material stuff like those together (may be in order of creation) and non material stuff (like religion, or laws)...just a suggestion..

  • @nfsfilms why? Religion has allways been about depriving man from thought. Do you beleive that to be benificial to the world/life? It might be, somewhere in between, but not with enough knowledge.

  • @bakemonoshi You are correct there, but the first part of human existence before we were civilized where we were spiritual was beneficial. However now, it is a hindrance.

  • @nfsfilms its not true, religion is not a hindrance for morally devoid people.

  • time wasn't invented, just discovered.

  • @orakonmonk

haha I totally agree with you... I was thinking exactly that when watching :'D

  • @orakonmonk The idea of time was though. Time is just an abstract thought of keeping track of existence.

  • Fuck Math yo

  • @6621496scarface I feel ya, but with no math, we lose a shitload of stuff.

  • hey, my science teacher showed me this vid during school. he was like woah!

we hade to learn about inventions. then i went back home to comment. =)

now ur vid is famous my school

  • @VanillaCocoaBunny Haha, that's awesome!

Say thank you to your teacher for me, and I'd appreciate it if he commented with his own views on this subject matter too.

  • The greatest invention is the gun think Robert DeNiro used in Taxi Driver

  • Religion is one of the worst inventions ........

  • @Clobify It is, yet it isn't, without religion, archaic man may have never done some of the things which have led to modern times being the way they are.

  • @nfsfilms like what exactly?

  • @nfsfilms May yes, but rather it has actually held back science, and is so even in this day and age...

  • @BubbyFury That is also true.

  • I invented a breakthrough source of energy which violates the law of conservation of energy. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which violate the law of energy conservation. Making a 6 kW generator will cost $1200 in mass production, value of energy produced yearly $5400.

I am looking for $300 000 for a prototype and $3M for patents.

  • @robertprpic01 They may be awesome, but they haven't furthered man enough.

  • Computer w/internet is the perfect invention of all time....

  • The 25(laser) is a fire burning to a glass

  • Time was not invented. Lol.

This video should be the top 30 things of life

  • @Tynanboyle96 The idea of time was though. Time is just an abstract thought of keeping track of existence.

  • @nfsfilms Depending on the prespective. but what time STANDS for was never invented.

  • I think that you don't understand the concept of "invention". An invention is a new device, method, technology, process developed by study and experimentation. Time, Laws, Religions, Cities, Penicilin and few more - they are NOT INVENTIONS. Also there is something called "discovery". Penicilin was discovered, not invented. Also, you cannot "invent" ISS - it's based on known technology, and it is not the first space station. And these are only few examples of mistakes made in this film.

  • How come you have harnessing fire as well as metallurgy and the steam engine etc,? They are just harnessing fire.

Also, you have a strange definition of "invention" at times.

  • playstation no 1

  • Wheres paper?

  • @ilikepiesomuch999999 Paper is in the top 40.

  • Computer and electronics should be no.1 fastest way of transferring information atm.

  • @z3r0zx1

They may be the fastest way to transfer information, and do many other amazing things, but these are recent, and haven't allowed us to thrive and become what we are today near as much as the other ones on this list ahead of them have.

  • @nfsfilms sure about that? what about resolving math equations which would have taken years but instead take seconds? co-ordination of missiles, shuttles, air-planes etc...., automation of certain hospital machinery such as breathing machines, renal transfusion machines...don't you think that transfer of info didn't help in advancing humanity? scientists can find data much faster than before. true they've been a short time but without them it would have taken longer for us to be at this level.

  • @DmasterX69 That is very true that they have shaped the world and how it is today, but almost all the things on the list have led up to the computer. But I can see your point in the advancement of humanity through computers, and can agree, they could take a place among the top 30.

  • nerd

  • wat about the TV?

  • @arturohernandez07

Was close, but just didn't make the cut, would be 31-33ish though.

  • Nice Vid Man

  • Thanks!

  • Sorry but bomb is not a great invent.
