  • Peace must begin within the individual. Then it will spread.

No matter what religion guides you, I ask everyone to please pray for peace within yourselves and that it will spread with lovingkindness to those around you!

  • Voir la vidéo pour Guilad Shalit sur ma page

  • wow they have their work cut out 4 them every time i watch the news they r riots and war. the youth have nothing 2 gain but debt and poverty so they r fighting back but at wot cost look at iran.

  • There is too little space to write here, I would just reflect on the obvious importance of the abortion issue:

Amnesty International have as a first aim to fight for the right for a human acceptable situation for people where the victims themselves do not have the means to make a difference.

  • The abortion issue is very much one fought in the streets where the democracy already is accepted and we have the right to vent our view and can afford to prove our point.

If the world were at peace and students not shot for thinking different, mothers starving in demolished villages, kids forced to fight wars before they can spell, perhaps Amnesty could move on to question like this. As it is now, it just cannot be done.

  • Hypocrites! Amnesty International. The starting place for human rights has to begin with the right to life. The rights of the unborn!

  • amnesty don't say that abortion is a good thing, just that they believe in the right to choose, but a lot of people seem to confuse 'pro-choice' with pro-abortion.' personally, i'm not sure i would have an abortion myself, but i respect the right of other people to choose, and isn't it better that they have it done safely with the least harm done to the foetus than if they had a backstreet abortion?

  • You can't try and rationalize murder. How can Amnesty International have in creditability if they support the so called "Right" to murder an innocent child? The whole point of the issue is "Human Rights" starting with the right to live. Tell me does one Nation have the "Choice" to torture if the Supreme Court changes the laws and says yes? Of course not. So why is it any different with the right to life. I can't believe that this is even a debatable topic. Its murder of a human child.

  • after all, like stuff like prostitution, it's always going to go on...so why not make it as safe and painless as possible? also, abortion clinics have limits- e.g you can't have an abortion after the foetus has reached a certain stage, whereas backstreet abortionists, probably not.

  • Your trying to rationalize the wrong. You don't say "NO" to speed limits because most don't follows the posted speed.

We must stand up for what is right. No matter what the cost. Its who we are as a Nation and are core beliefs of Life,Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.

  • however even if people do consider them hypocrites, you can't deny that amnesty don't do good in the world when it comes to protesting torture etc.. if you're strongly against abortion, i'm sure there are other causes that stand against that...no-one said amnesty international iare the solution to everything, but they do a damn good job..

  • Look know-one is saying that Amnesty International does not do any good. Far from it. And yes know organization is perfect by any means. But the right to life for a child in the womb should be foundational stance that has know grey area. Their stance on human rights has to start with human life.

  • There is a hole in your reasoning on this issue. Sadly youtube does not give enough space to properly explain them. Otherwise you have some very valid and well thought out ideas.

  • Its plain and simple. If your for human rights, it gotta start for the right to life. And that starts in the womb. Any less of a debate is pointless. A.I. is not gonna convince many people that their views for human life is genuine if their views on the rights of the unborn are not their focal point .

  • No it's gotta start with those who have already been born because a woman with no rights automatically means they cannot protect their unborn child from government mandated abortions (re: one child policy)

IMHO an unborn child is part of a womans body, in the first few months it's not an individual in it's own right anymore than my big toe is.

The moral certainty in your own opinion tells me you are likely a religiously motivated male, if that's the case then debate is indeed pointless

  • Hello, excuse me. Is anyone home in that brain of yours?

Human life is human life. Whether its an elderly person, to a young adult, to a child in the womb. I don't say that, Science does. And by the the way I am a female agnostic if that helps you with your narcissistic thinking.

If your really serious about human life, then get off your ass and put your time, money, and resources into saving all. Try putting aside your dam political religious driven agenda and help save and change lives.

  • I looked up the word "narcissistic" and found picture of you alongside the quote: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

I'm an atheist. My "agenda" is humanist, I want goverments and the self-righteous to stay out of other peoples wombs regardless of their intentions.

  • Atheist? Sound like to me you don't even understand the definition of the word. We don't just want the words of good intentions. There are plenty of people like you who do nothing but talk. Your agenda is clear and so is your selfishness. You are not a true humanist. You want what you want and you are willing to sacrifice the life and freedom of one human being for another.Try doing some field work in Darfu, near Al-lunaynah,Tawila and Nyala. Better yet, volunteer some time at your local shelter

  • "You are not a true humanist."

LMFAO I take that as a compliment coming from a judgemental control freak such as yourself.

  • Yea just what thought. Your all talk and no action.

Stay on the sidelines please, so some of us can bring some real positive change to the human race.

  • LMFAO - My generation saw what government meddling in womens wombs did to their health and brought about "positive change" decades ago.

Spoilt brats like you are simply too myopic and self-righteous to appreciate it. Go and talk to some real women they may help you grow up but I doubt it.

  • Like I said, you only care about your own agenda and not the well being of the human race. Go sniff some angel dust and fly back to your delusional culture of death.

  • What has angel dust got to do with anything? You can't even insult people properly, try to be relevant, like this...

Your mother tried to abort you with a coathanger but missed, the trauma obviously left you retarded.

  • Yes your heart speaks volumes of your intent. Enough of your grade school banter. Your ideology is based on a selfish human extinction. If you wan to change? Start by supporting the right to life. FOR ALL HUMAN BEINGS!

  • DOUBLE STANDARDS ON TERRORISM

Witness How A Civilized Society Justify Terrorism! 5 Parts. with animated texts

    TITILE:

Part 1- 5: Panel Discussion Sri Lanka War - Press TV

If civilized societies like EU, UK, USA, Canada protect & feed terrorists of another country, you cant blame innocent civilians been massacred on the battle field. You have an obligation to protect a civil society from a terrorist group before its too late!

  • Fairness and equal rights for all !

  • They don't follow their own rules eh?!

Try being a Americas Indigenous Peoples for 500 years!

In too many countries, the laws, institutions, and policies governing economic, social, and political affairs deny a large part of society the chance to participate on equal terms. The rules of the game are unfair. This is not only morally unacceptable; it stunts economic development and can readily undermine stability and security.

  • Four billion people around the world are robbed of the chance to better their lives and climb out of poverty, because they are excluded from the rule of law. Whether living below or slightly above the poverty line, these men, women, and children lack the protections and rights afforded by the law. They may be citizens of the country in which they live, but their resources, modest at best, can neither be properly protected nor leveraged.

  • Thus it is not the absence of assets or lack of work that holds them back, but the fact that the assets and work are insecure, unprotected, and far less productive than they might be. Indigenous communities may be deprived of a political voice and their human rights violated.

  • Human Rights must be exercise by the each country of the world. Frankly, there's no country saved by the UN. UN can't do anything. As long as UN respect the law and order of each country, the Dictatorship will be exist. For example, Burma, China, Dafur, Zimbabwe, Cuba...etc...

The best way is use UN forces to crush down the dictatorship countries.

  • Democracies can commit Human Rights violations too. This is very important to recognize.

  • Yes, it can also be but rarely. Compare with China and America. Which is better? what do you think?

  • America may not be as bad as China but she does her fair share of violations. Especially if you start counting secret prisons and Guantanamo. Then add in the poverty rate and amount of homeless people and you've got a good case.

  • Where has Amnesty International been for the many children who have been murdered by abortion??

  • amen

  • @saminea1 yes e.g. US, for example Mumia Abu-Jamal should have got a fair trial - so does Dr Aafia Siddiqui - whether guilty or not- their trials were not fair at all

  • "It's about time that governments apologised for 60 decades of human rights failures, and it's about time that they committed themselves afresh to the promises they made in 1948." Irene Khan, Secretary General, Amnesty International

  • The problem with USA and accepting human rights has always been that USA only follows the human rights conventions when they can gain something, the same second the human rights stand in their way they ignore them.

  • America doesnt recognize human rights. i mean look at our death camps and torture camps!

  • The best of humanity has always consisted of those rare souls who've had the courage to stand against tyranny and oppression.

Let's work together to ensure that the victims of man's inhumanity to man do not suffer and die in vain.

Let us, each of us, find a way to make a difference - each in our own way. Let's start today.

  • I think that it is always important to remember that fact: not a single vote against it. 'Tis a shame then that the world still flounders to follow it---and I'm not just talking about the third-world.

  • Thank you lobdet for sharing this vid. It is interesting and important.

  • Very interesting video and informative. Thanks for sharing Pfont

  • People are still in denial about what the world really is.

It's a pyramid scheme. We send up money and lives. They send down lies and empty promises.

    UN

    UNhelpful

    UNaccountalbe

    UNwanted

The GovCorp wants to kill you, your children and anyone else that won't knuckle under and submit to economic slavery.

    Face reality people.

  • You speak great words of wisdom. Maybe you have been out and about in some of theses area's of the world to witness it first hand. Its a sad truth, but most are to selfish to care.

    Good insight.

  • Thanks : D

  • thanx for video. 5 stars!

  • "It's about time the 48 countries who signed the Declaration of Human Rights renew afresh their vow to safeguard human rights in world, today." - Irene Khan, Sec. Gen. Amnesty International
