back in the old days I was workin' on this test using strata (which is already more than 2 years ago) ... I actually photographed a chromeball which I could at least use for the reflections, but the rendering system in Strata still is quite restrictive & slow, so...

Nice animation and nice visual effects breakdown.
Did you use global illumination? It doesn't look like you did. I think that is the only criticism i have.

I used Strata 3D CX for 3D & After Effects for compositing...
but now I'm working with 3ds max...
