Yes, they do have turbo engines already from the factory.

But when thy are used for school purposes, the engines are governed to not go over a certain speed, for safety.

This video reminds me of those terrible Ford F700 school buses with the junky Lima 370 gas engines from the 80's. I remember I had to install cages on the Ford school buses because Ford never did this on the chassis when GMC and International did for safety. After a horrible accident in PA where kids got killed when a car hit the side of a gas tank on a Ford bus, the government finally made Ford retrofit cages around the fuel tanks.

@rhauf1 Would you let your kid ride a 1968 Chevy School Bus although maintained, it has no where near the same safety standards of todays buses. I rode a bus that old and there was no paded seats. The seats had steel exposed frames, no reinforcoed roof, no seat belts. Plus the rivets give out after so many miles and bumps. It would cost more to upgrade in 12 years than to just buy a new one. Transit buses are allowed to be kept for 16 years. Regular buses are now 12 years, at least here in NJ,
