Not all remakes are evil. They're just not all done right. Amityville Horror, Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes, Let Me In... those are all great.
What about The Thing, The Fly, The Blob, Night of the Living Dead, Cat People, Toolbox Murders, Piranha 3D, My Bloody Valentine 3D, Wizard of Gore, The Ring etc.? seen those?
Everybody know the name of the Song... It says "electro slave, it's what I crave, I want to see, it watches me" but I don't know what it is? And if it is that band called Narfcore and the song is called Fran, then why can't I find that song ANYWHERE???
Is anyone else researching Videodrome? I think Youtube is a good community to begin a Videodrome research foundation. brilliant, movies don't dare anymore. Wasn't it great when they made movies to stir up controversy like videodrome, clockwork orange, and trainspotting
@underbightdog23 They are overrated because they are bad movies that people think are masterpieces because they want to be cool and "retro". Also, you're a fag.
@hypnobama also, you really dont have any evidence that those movies are bad. which shows your an ignorant, fat fuck, and the reason why everyone hates americans.
A classic film. I've made a modernized version of this trailer as this one has aged (horribly). I hope you all check it out and let me know what you think.
I saw this movie not long after it was released, with my mother of all people. We both thought it was amazing and some of the scenes were almost too much to absorb. I never saw this trailer but while it has a great song playing, it doesn't tell you nearly enough about the movie or what you are getting yourself into.
@silentloler Well, I was actually being serious. If you liked the "Apes" remake that's okay, after all everyone has an opinion as the saying goes. The reason I didn't like the remakes is because they were all excellent original movies (I grew up up with them as I was born in 1962) and somehow coming out with remakes, redos, reimaginings, etc of great films never sat well with me. Just my pov.
@liquidgee13 Oh well, I suppose that making average remakes of them is better than just letting them get lost in time. I would probably not have seen it if it wasn't remade... Watching movies with a really bad picture quality feels somehow awkward. I wanted to watch the old star wars parts again... but I just can't bring myself to do it!
@Johnlindsey289 Interesting question. No, I would not consider "Videodrome" torture porn even though that element played an important part in the film, the movie itself was concerned more with mind control, conspiracy, reality, and comfort zones (sexual comfort zones especially) and pushing personal boundaries of ethics and morality. "Hostel" and more especially "Saw" had the torture porn elements more central to them than did "Videodrome".
@Johnlindsey289 I wasn't too impressed with Corneberg's remake of "The Fly" as the original starring Vincent Price was very well done and certainly didn't need remaking - try getting a hold of the short story the film was based on by George Langelaan which is available in a number of science fiction/horror story collections. However, I enjoyed John Carpenter's remake of "The Thing" as it was well done and much truer to the novella than the original film was.
@Johnlindsey289 Okay, each version of "The Fly" had its attributes both good and bad depending on one's likes and dislikes.
I'm not a fan of torture porn. The first "Saw" had merit as its shock value and "Twilight Zone"-ish ending really made you think in spite of the overpowering visceralness of it but the following "Saw" films were too formulaic. Films such as "Hostel" and "Hostel 2" were just too disturbing and gory for my tastes.
I can't even fathom HOW it could be done. The television as a part of society has largely been replaced by the computer and the Internet removing almost all relevance to the general masses.
The battle for the mind of North America will be fought in the Internet2 arena: the Youtubedrome. The computer screen is the retina of the mind's eye. Therefore, the computer screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. Therefore, whatever appears on the computer screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it. Therefore, computers are reality, and reality is less than computers.
That is so fucking awsome!!!I noticed they like to repeat the tittle of the film consistantly thruout the trailer in allot of old horror fil promotions?anyone else?
