Powerful film, powerful acting! Glad I saw this one in the theater.. Of all the films about the hood that came out, post 2000. They all look up to this one, along with "Boyz n da Hood", "South Central" and "Colors".. They were all such classics that you had to see them in the theater. And if you did, you will forever be a part of that history..

The reason why the director decided not to kill off O-Dog here is because it delivers a message. O-Dogg was the hard ass murderer yet he survived. Caine was a good kid. He did bad, but he had to pay for his life. Also, this scene shows the first signs of emotion in O-Doggs life.
My oldest brother was murdered like that as well... He was the good guy hangin with the bad asses, and at the time of the drive by, he got shot, and the other guy was only grazed... and the other guy was the intended target, not my brother... The movie sends out a message loud and clear, but are these young guys really listening?

Hobbs is right in a way, not all right though, I lived in south Los Angeles from 1971-1997, then came back 1999-2004 (lot of years) and to be honest with you, theres only probably two memorable strand of killings that i will never forget, those years, i witnessed atleast 40-50 deaths, but now modern society its even worse, thats why i moved out, you will here more deaths then ever, it seems weird because you dont hear much on news, now its more unpublicized meaning its done inside in buildings

back then this even happened where i was born, it was north of Boston Massachusetts in town called Lawrence, and its not in the news alot, obviously not as bad as compton but before even once in three days around the corner all you can hear is boom, gunshots and drivebys, and i get scared to death to go outside and go to the store alone, thats why im always in a group, but this was back then it doesnt happen as much anymore, im telling u if u have live in lawrence during the late 90's its hell!

The reason why the director decided not to kill off O-Dog here is because it delivers a message. O-Dogg was the hard ass murderer yet he survived. Caine was a good kid. He did bad, but he had to pay for his life. Also, this scene shows the first signs of emotion in O-Doggs life.

My oldest brother was murdered like that as well... He was the good guy hangin with the bad asses, and at the time of the drive by, he got shot, and the other guy was only grazed... and the other guy was the intended target, not my brother... The movie sends out a message loud and clear, but are these young guys really listening?
