I've never seen that problem with my PTR 91. It's probably the best rifle I've ever bought!

I yanked my barrel and replaced it with an HK91 barrel, now it cycles surplus all day

@trubisz It's not a big deal once you have the barrel. It cost me 250 to have the barrel replaced (not including the cost of the barrel) Contact me if you need a good gunsmith

the PTR91 changes hands going from the earlier PTR91's bult by JLD to the company now called PTR inc. the older JLD rifles had deep cut flutes and losser chambers. when PTR inc took over the tightened the chamber and lightened the flutes. thus mil-surp ammo doesnt feed as well in the newer rifles [not all but most] the older ones are GTG with surpluse. you can have your fluted cut deeper and it will fix the problem

ive shot over 2800 rds of south african through my PTR with not one problem. It really enjoys german surplus as well.

fuck man, i got a PTR-91 and i didnt fucking see where it said dont use the south african ammo cause i got this box of 1260 rounds lol. i guess i got to get another 308 rifle.
