I hate to do this, but love this performance, and if you like Americana/Folk Music, please visit my sites. I would love to support and have the support of artists similar to me.

"... big world, the thing i most fear , is a white man with a golf shirt with a cellphone in his ear." How about the illegal gang thugs terrorizing innocent families or the Medicaid crisis caused by illegals. The deterioration of the inner city schools caused by the influx of illegals? African Amer union workers and contractors losing jobs to illegals? Trite lyrics about a white man in a golf shirt. You used to be real Tom. Blue Wing, The Pugilist at 59, Cielo. This song is a piece of S??T
Tom Russell is certainly NOT a lighweight singer OR songwrite but.. this song kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I wish musicians of this man's caliber would stay completely OUT of politics. It hurts his mistique.
Corporate "fat cat" CEOs taking home tens of millions of dollars while workers, Mexian and other have seen real wages not increase in 35 years - 35 years of anti-labor conservative leadership.
Who invented Mexicans? What kind of question is that. The Southwest has as much Mexican culture as the NE has Irish and such. If you don't like it take your Yankee butts home.
The song is metaphoric and great music in any case.
Tom I respect you as an artist but you're an ass for writing this song. I guess you'd rather see our labor and tax laws undermined by a bunch of corporate lowlives? What about the American poor Tom? Where are they supposed to go for a job? Mexico?
Protest for the sake of protest is stupidity my friend... Pull your head out already, okay?
Well, you see, SteelyMan, that you're trying to close the barn door after the horse has already escaped. Goods, services, investment, just about everything can move back and forth except labor. There actually is a shortage of labor in many of the jobs these folks are taking. We need to all ban together to help all those working hard and getting paid crap get organized and get better treatment.
Oh, year. Tom, you got politics, whether you know it or not. (I think you do.)
I see... so uh, how did those jobs get done before the invention of the Mexican?
Please stand by while "HellinDC" attempts to free himself from brainlock...
But even if what you say is true (and it ain't) it still makes no sense. Do you think if I went down to Brazil and washed a few dishes and mowed a few lawns they would give me citizenship if I demanded it? The companies who hire the illegal laborers might owe them something but my government doesn't... Understand? Hope so.
Well Tom did pose a good question, although, I think that you might be surprised at who will build the wall. The question should who will build this wall for $7 dollars an hour. We want a living wage, but, we also want EVERYTHING!!and at half what it cost to make it in America. Tom, I will build that wall for 15 dollars per hour how about you?

What a lightweight. Easy shots. Predictable lyrics. Yawn.
