Dear Gentlemen. I would like to say I agree with you on most points from this video, particularly that British Sci-Fi is good. However I disagree that American Sci-Fi is bad. Granted the Sci-Fi channel puts out a lot of bad movies, but a lot of good stuff has come out of America too. To list a few (not all recent) Star Trek, Star Wars, the Stargate TV series, and (my favorite) Firefly. Thanks for another good video, and for putting up with criticisim.
A lot of the original Star wars wasn't filmed in the USA, and the latest ones were filmed in aussieland ;), a lot of stargate is filmed in canada too. heh.

What an improvement . Lighting is much better ,you might want to put up a dot on the backlite the center guys head is much too bright , and also you might want to try getting closer to the center guy . it seems like to much space on his L&R ,but by doing this you might create shadows . I wonder what type of lighting fixtures you are using ? The sound was quite good , but the mics on the right side seemed higher (no big deal ) All in all looking much better .
Lighting is actually "work lights" (hardware store), we're building the number available to us, and I'm fine tuning the positioning. hard part is I can't create enough distance between where we sit, and the backdrop, so eliminating hard shadows and back lighting are tough.
The Mic's on Moyle and Chris sounded lower just because of the positioning, we didn't account for (chris especially) turning to face q-dog and then coming off-mic a bit. The stands Dion and I were using kept the mics in a much better position for us, we're getting more.
In-line dimmers /buy short extension cords cut them near the female plug (1 ft. ) it will save you money rather than buying plugs and cable then wire in the dimmer / make sure to not over load and you don't need 1 per light mayby just backlites / The shadows wern't bad ,not as noticable as befor .

It's a new "Web TV" show we've been working on. and by "we" I mean the team at coolshite dot net who've done an Audio podcast show for a couple years now (I've only recently joined teh ranks), focusing on reviewing Movies (mainly) and tv etc called "(cool) Shite on the tube". CoolShite TV is also about reviewing movies, but allows us to play in a visual medium too so we can show movie clips, trailers, interviews, do comedy skits etc.

LOL, only because these guys are used to rambling on for an hour or two because that's what we do in the audio podcasts... and I'm sitting there keenly aware that we HAVE to keep the show to ~30 minutes (+or- 10 minutes) both to keep my work load from killing me, and to respect peoples time and attention span, consuming video is more attention/time demanding than listening to audio while you do something else.
loved the new format! the first episode with you guys sitting wasn't as structured and so felt a bit more forced. this one has the same feel as the audio podcast which makes me very happy. its also nice to finally be able to put a face with the voice. Cool Shite TV is pretty damn awesome! I have to admit, I didnt think much of it at first, but it has quickly grown on me after being subscribed to your channel for a while.
It's avaiable via itunes if you subscribe to (cool) shite on the tube, but you will get all the audio casts as well. I am currently looking into creating a new feed for the video files alone. Stay tuned!

It did have a high ticket sale, but that has no reflection whatsoever on the quality of the movie. for ex: A trailer can be excellent which can maximize the viewer percentage by drawing more ppl. what's actually going on,on the screen is a totally diff'story.

Q-dog, "the guy in the center" is there to help keep us on track as the "anchor", it's pretty much his job to lead the show. We'll all be taking turns in that spot. Check the site, we also do weekly (except for when we record this show) audio podcasts with a similar format you may enjoy more :)
Did you read the book? It's pretty much my favorite. Heres a tidbit: Tristan's name in the book is Tristran. I don't quite know why they took the r out lol but whatev. Enjoyed the show.

Hey steveparkins0n, the file I uploaded was still under 100Mb, and as a youtube partner, which means youtube keep a closer eye on what I upload, and thus don't have to worry about me uploading stuff like full eps of "family guy" or something (one of the main reasons for the 10 minute limit in the first place), I'm afforded the luxury of being able to exceed the 10 minute mark.

*sigh* what I ment by old is the fact that she hasen't had any outstanding role's in almost 12 years and she doesn't look very good anymore (even without make-up) It's sad that women can't get any good role's after 40 and it's even more sad that she's exepting role's as the "older-woman" because it mean's that the movie makers will only take her as that kind of role .
I don't think it's that she couldn't GET "outstanding roles" but rather that she chose to take a break from the acting gig since 2003, her last gig before this and the "hit" new movie "Hairspray". Just because you don't see an actor in any roles doesn't mean they CAN'T get work, it may be they've chosen to focus their life elsewhere for a while.

LOL, no, Mr.Moyle was actually responsible for the audio... so I either sound better because I was more "on mic" than the others... or perhaps my voice is just more awesome. ;)
We had some audio problems with th new setup and Dion & Blunty are more on mic than the others. Qdog (in the middle) has a lapel on that I am still getting used to, but Chris & myself are quite off mic which makes the mix sound a little one sided to blunty & dion's favour..
Oh, yeah... about Stardust. I want to see it, I really do, but I haven't had time. So it's really that good? I was told it was by someone at the soup kitchen I volunteer at that is was really good but didn't know for sure but if you guys say its good, I guess it is LOL. Oh, and Princess Bride rocks. My brother told me that Princess Bride was the movie of choice in the marines barracks when he was in Okinawa.
We, in the US, have to wait until BBC America broadcasts shows. What really pisses me off is when they give us a taste and then I find out the show was cancelled. Anyway, we are just starting to get the second season of Dr Who and they just instroduced Torchwood this week. (still a Tom Baker fan.. but then again everyone loves their first Dr the most!)

Oh... original Dr. Who is far superior to the new Dr Who. I just happen to like anything SciFi (plus public tv doesn't show episodes until midnight here). I've only seen 2 episodes of the new Dr. Who. The show that I was referring to getting cancelled was HEX. I actually kinda liked that show even though the acting was pretty crummy.

loved the new format! the first episode with you guys sitting wasn't as structured and so felt a bit more forced. this one has the same feel as the audio podcast which makes me very happy. its also nice to finally be able to put a face with the voice. StarDust is a disco place in Ireland where about 40 teenagers died because of a fire so nice one paramount!
It happened a few years ago at valentines day If I remember right about 1979 or something but I am not totally sure.

It's avaiable via itunes if you subscribe to (cool) shite on the tube, but you will get all the audio casts as well. I am currently looking into creating a new feed for the video files alone. Stay tuned!

im a bloody moron. i found it on itunes right after posting that comment. video only would be cool though, there arent enough hours in the day for me to keep up with the audio stuff too. ive got too many audio podcast subscriptions already. this is far more entertaining than my usual computer geekery though!

It did have a high ticket sale, but that has no reflection whatsoever on the quality of the movie. for ex: A trailer can be excellent which can maximize the viewer percentage by drawing more ppl. what's actually going on,on the screen is a totally diff'story.
and sorry...but narnia was just to childish and mondane :S
it didn't offer that level of exitment and thrill other PG-13 fantasy movie do(lord of the rings)

Great Video. I prefer you sitting down, Keeps you less wild and more relevant. had the time to watch the whole thing and enjoyed it. Those stardust posters were eyesores.

you talk about how the scifi channel is rather a lame channel well you do know you are also talking about the same channel has the ecw on it....what does that tell you although there is some a rather small pick of shows but still it is still a good channel thats how i watch who wants to be a stupper hero yes i do know i spelled that rong its spelled supper.......come on people

LOL, I understand, 39 minutes of someone's time can be a lot to ask on the internet sometimes. You can download the show from coolshite dot net and watch it at your leisure if you prefer... watch it on an ipod, PSP, on your TV even if you've a mp4 player or TV out on your computer :)

Q-dog, "the guy in the center" is there to help keep us on track as the "anchor", it's pretty much his job to lead the show. We'll all be taking turns in that spot. Check the site, we also do weekly (except for when we record this show) audio podcasts with a similar format you may enjoy more :)

Did you read the book? It's pretty much my favorite. Heres a tidbit: Tristan's name in the book is Tristran. I don't quite know why they took the r out lol but whatev. Enjoyed the show.

Hey steveparkins0n, the file I uploaded was still under 100Mb, and as a youtube partner, which means youtube keep a closer eye on what I upload, and thus don't have to worry about me uploading stuff like full eps of "family guy" or something (one of the main reasons for the 10 minute limit in the first place), I'm afforded the luxury of being able to exceed the 10 minute mark.

*sigh* what I ment by old is the fact that she hasen't had any outstanding role's in almost 12 years and she doesn't look very good anymore (even without make-up) It's sad that women can't get any good role's after 40 and it's even more sad that she's exepting role's as the "older-woman" because it mean's that the movie makers will only take her as that kind of role .

I don't think it's that she couldn't GET "outstanding roles" but rather that she chose to take a break from the acting gig since 2003, her last gig before this and the "hit" new movie "Hairspray". Just because you don't see an actor in any roles doesn't mean they CAN'T get work, it may be they've chosen to focus their life elsewhere for a while.

LOL, no, Mr.Moyle was actually responsible for the audio... so I either sound better because I was more "on mic" than the others... or perhaps my voice is just more awesome. ;)

We had some audio problems with th new setup and Dion & Blunty are more on mic than the others. Qdog (in the middle) has a lapel on that I am still getting used to, but Chris & myself are quite off mic which makes the mix sound a little one sided to blunty & dion's favour..

Oh, yeah... about Stardust. I want to see it, I really do, but I haven't had time. So it's really that good? I was told it was by someone at the soup kitchen I volunteer at that is was really good but didn't know for sure but if you guys say its good, I guess it is LOL. Oh, and Princess Bride rocks. My brother told me that Princess Bride was the movie of choice in the marines barracks when he was in Okinawa.

We, in the US, have to wait until BBC America broadcasts shows. What really pisses me off is when they give us a taste and then I find out the show was cancelled. Anyway, we are just starting to get the second season of Dr Who and they just instroduced Torchwood this week. (still a Tom Baker fan.. but then again everyone loves their first Dr the most!)

Oh... original Dr. Who is far superior to the new Dr Who. I just happen to like anything SciFi (plus public tv doesn't show episodes until midnight here). I've only seen 2 episodes of the new Dr. Who. The show that I was referring to getting cancelled was HEX. I actually kinda liked that show even though the acting was pretty crummy.
