  • It is hardly surprising - they are pretty much goth-lite IMO :)

  • It is amazing that a prominent ALP member has the gall to pontificate about "winners taking all" when his party is at the forefront of ensuring it wins against all - lest we forget how Tanner's party preferenced Family First at the last election in a desperate attempt to WIN WIN

  • I'm not so sure -- throughout Tanner's explanations on how he thought 'emo' was defined, he never once mentioned music. Emo is not first and foremost a culture of self-harm. If Tanner and other prominent public figures are going to propagate this misconception, disaffected youth will continue to feel just that - disaffected.

  • "Emo" has changed in definition over time. When I was leaving school, emo *was* a music genre. But THAT emo no longer exists. Emo is now a degrogatory term for a certain stereotype. Goths were/are frowned upon (although they're not quite the same) in the same way.
