How can I create sand textures with just acrylic paint?

mix fine beach sand with acryllic get medium!

(Sift through a tea strainer to get out particles that are too big.)

OR you can spend too much money and get the same effect by doing what I did once and get golden acrylic pumice gel.

The good thing about making it yourself is you can adjust the grit and consistency.

A thicker medium means your particles will stick up less but still feel gritty which is what I like so you can keep on painting over it if your project needs that.
