  • it seems with this song(as with the entire lp) , given either mix, that the room was about to explode; so unsettingly quiet ; i.e. GENIUS !!!

  • what is the chord progression the rhythm guitar is playing? D - D4?

  • This whole lp/cd is, with few resevations, nearly flawless. Such songs as this are permanently a part of my permanent playlist and a part of my whole being. A big hug hug to you kind post person.

  • I'll put my jelly on your shoulder :]

  • @wyantizer89 hahaha

  • good feelings

  • no kinds of love are better than others

  • How are the Velvet Underground so amazing?

  • @spinkwotzer Well... they created alternative rock, art rock, drone, noise rock, ambient, and they helped create punk (probably more). They also brought to music realistic topics such as prostitution, drug use, etc. They also founded the artistic and avant garde sound for rock music. Of course, I would suggest that you listen to their debut album to truly understand. What they did was not just create music, but art...

  • @JaackPat I can see my comment could be misinterpreted. My comment was rhetorical, as in "how can a band be this good?" I love the Velvets. Thank you for your comment though. Everything you say is true, and much more :-)

  • @JaackPat Well said! :)

  • One of the most influential bands without ever going mainstream. Love these guys sooo much! <3

  • rub jelly on your shoulders......ahem....

  • one of lou reed's many masterpieces.....in my humble opinion he is the best songwriter of the 20th century

  • @MrGrieves1000 i'd have to say he's just as good as dylan, tho i prefer reed...

  • Some Kinda Hate

    Loool

  • Notable differences in the music can be heard on the two different versions. "Some Kinda Love" is a completely different performance. The Closet Mix uses a slower, quieter take, while the Valentin Mix is a slightly more upbeat and closer to the way the band performed the song in concert. The Valentin version of "Some Kinda Love" is about 20 seconds longer. -- Wikipedia

  • Just bought thee vinyl for this :]

  • Amo a Velvet!! Y esta cancion está cm country!! jaja! Me encanta! =D

  • the velvet underground are genius. absolutely awesome.

  • situations arise because of the weather, and no kinds of love are better than others.

    that's so true. and that's all. (:

this song just makes me happy, haha xD

  • gorillaz did a little tribute to this song on their new album

  • @trueaway yes?!!! on plastic beach (is it right?)?

  • i much prefer this to the closet mix, as i do most of the album, but this song is especially .........erm....... special lol, yeah that'll do

  • @unmegaface ha ha - that made me laugh.... yeah... eeerm Special for me too.

Room D12. Raymont Hall of Residence. 1982.

  • @unmegaface And im stoned

  • CANCION DE 1969

  • This isn't the closet mix, so it sounds much clearer.

I personally don't like it as much.

  • I have "some kind of love" for this song -

  • lou reeds voice does sound a little clearer and does sound speeded up a little from the old vinal!! i still have the vinyl! but its still a great song!!

  • has it been re-mixed and re-mastered for digital? this sounds very different from what I heard on the vinyl album Velvet Underground (3rd album, eponymously titled)? it's sounds a little faster too, and I can I hear Mr. Reed's words clearly. Hmmm. a very different sound or my memory is fucked.

  • This mix came out in the 80s when they put out the albums on CD/ reissued them on vinyl. It's got an extra guitar overdub in it (obviously) and the mix is different...

  • Still, it's all great. What would american music be without with the velvet underground? BD, GP RIP, g. dead (Mr. Garcia, RIP), Mr. Otis Redding and Mr. Wilson Pickett, rest in peace gentleman, BT & the MGs backing of course, and the Allman Brothers, rest in peace Mr. D. Allman and Mr. Oakley. Just an opinionated observation from a Stones' fan. Oh, and Mr. Jim Morrison, may he rest in blissful tranquility. His backing band was OK. No VU, no NYD, no TV (the person or band), no TH. No NYC sound.

  • @dugitomi and we can all understand your abbreviations can't we!
