why are they dragging scott back to the 80's..great song no need to dress like dorks..one has to compare them to GnR because take out the vocals and that what they sound like...scott should have keep this song under his hat as a solo or STP song.
Scott Weiland didn't like preforming in clubs. he wanted to sell out arenas like he did when he was with STP the 1st time. Velvet Revolver could've been so much bigger if Scott stayed with them.
I'm never gonna understand why the 80s and the 90s slowly "died" and why rock music isn't as popular these days than it was in that era. Why didn't people keep listening to rock n' roll? Why did they have to switch to bloody hip-hop and rap?
I know a girl whose mum is from the 90s generation and her mum listens to new music, when in fact she was listening to stuff like GN'R or Cyndi Lauper when she was young... only God knows why she changed, 'cuz this music is WAY better than "modern" music...
@007ssrp Matt did a few gigs with Motorhead, some benefit,TV,and now he formed a cover band called Carnival Of Dogs.Until VR finds a singer,Duff will be in Loaded,Slash is touring with his solo band, and Matt is just jamming and i guess having a break.
It's because of the people that couldn't stop comparing Velvet Revolver with Guns and Roses that they wasn't as succesfull as they should have been... It's a shame, Velvet Revolver was one of the few if not the only Rock Band that gave me hope this genre could had some influence on the kids and keep Rock alive.
when i first started listening to harder music, i started with GNR. when i discovered they split up, and found slash was playing with VR i listened to them, but i didnt really liked it. that was 3 months ago, now i absolutly love them. this is MUSIC. not that computer crap nowdays(is that a word?).
@fransulf as much as i love slash with his low slung les paul, the tone he was going for was easier achieved with the hollow body gibson. you gotta admit. that acoustic low gain solo sound is sexy.
Ok, they are dinosaurs and consumed rock stars, but this new "musicians" of today can only dream with the level of intensity that this guys get on their songs
weilands a hopeless junkie with questionable talent. Slash is on his way to becoming a music legend...they'll find a new singer but it's gotta be the right one
@MrJustindellacorte you're joking... right? Scott Weiland is one of the best front men out there. Not the best, but definately out there. I mean, Slash also is a junkie if you really want to look at it that way.
@philwert slash is clean, he doesn't even smoke cigarettes. He also isn't overshadowed by any major artists from his era...who's bigger Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or STP? Slash is a legend, Weiland's a joke
By far the best stuff I've heard from VR... It actually seems like they might have (God FORBID) had a little fun writing and recording this one. Oh yeah and thanks Scott for keeping your shirt on in this one....
P.S. Don't you have a crappy clothing line you're trying to promote... Here's a little peice of advice, where the fucking t-shirts in your videos.
Scott Weiland, well, it seems like the worst he looks, the best he sings. You know , it seems to be true that one has to suffer to really sing the blues.
Why did they change the music video? What happened to Scott playing the piano and that hot chick who takes her jacket off? And all those random people with the masks?
slash was much more of a badass on velvet revolver even when their music quits down it still has the best rythem and vibe you'll ever get from music anybody else think this??
Actually, they were pretty successful, their Debut: Contraband went Multiplatinum and was a major commercial success, and Libertad (the second album) was critically acclaimed.
Although, Slash wanted the second album to be a lot heavier and dirtier, Scott Weiland took the band in a different & lighter direction.
Contraband still remains my favorite album of the 2000's, it's exactly the perfect recipe to how real rock n' roll should sound like today.
@IrishRockerDude94 Only other voices I can think of that really stand apart from Scott's are Chris Cornell (currently back together with Soundgarden), Layne Staley (Alice In Chains, deceased), and Mike Patton (who's currently with Faith No More). From what I've heard, relations between Scott and the rest of VR are good now. So when asked about Scott rejoining, they said "never say never". I'd enjoy him being in both STP and VR at the same time, along with his solo work. I'd be in music heaven.
Yeah, and considering how long The rest of VR are taking to replace Scott, I'm starting to think they should just cut their losses, and just rehire him.
@IrishRockerDude1994 You're right. Scott has a lot nicer voice than Myles but he can't scream as good as Myles. Myles is a lot better in singing GNR songs though Scott is a bigger artist and his a lot more true as a songwriter IMO. I think it'll be a hard decision for them to find that new singer...
@TroyBilt007 because of die-hard GNR and STP fans would accept the,,,Bute I sure did...as I see it we went from speaking of two great bands to evolving into a third one....but glad STP is back...
@TroyBilt007 Considering their debut album sold like 3 Million, I'd consider that pretty successful. Especially considering the environment the music industry in.
