I was out in Saudi Arabia and the landscape was pretty similar. Didn't do any running on trails but did some hiking in the desert and it was pretty spectacular although this was before June - Aug when it gets to about 45 degrees C. Still, you get an amazing sense of freedom in such remote locations.

Thanks for the comment! I would have to agree with you, being out in the desert or wilderness gives me a great sense of freedom and enjoyment. Its quite hot right now in southern Utah. It was 105f today!
