Although there are numerous versions of this song on youtube, yours comes closest to reflecting the sadness of the singer. It's a beautiful rendition.

Back in the mid 1800s many people left Ireland for the US from the port of Carrickfergus and never returned, hence the sadness.

Holly, I've commented on a few of your songs - they're amazing. The first time I played this video my 11 year old "pop obsessed" daughter heard the music, stopped playing her Wii, and came into my office to see "who was singing".
