@wrestlingkid10 It should do it automatically when you place the points, the further away the points the larger the fade. Try a different road texture.

@TheDeathDr There is a program inside CoH world builder, called NIS. You can make REALLY realistic movies (not the kinda crappy ones made by noobs in game). All cinematic scenes in CoH campaign are made with NIS, which truly shows its capability.

@TheDeathDr When you start fraps you should see the FPS counter showing in the corner of the 'play area' in the worldbuilder. In fraps you should have set a key to start/stop recording. Press this button to do that. Be warned that the files can get very large so make sure you have plenty of free space.

a few questions while im installing CoH ToV, when your in the editor and you place buildings,units can automaticaly enter them right?

can you use the editor to make single player skirmish maps etc?

and can you place units arround and still play single player, and still have the units you placed move and fight?

@uberdeater Yea, as long as you dont use the NIS building soldiers can go inside and blow them up. You can also make single player maps by selecting it under the map preferences in one of the menus. You need to place a few engineers and assign them to teams and they will be hostile to one another.

@egdqv13234 In NIS creation you can move the soldiers position and height to look like they are in the buildings, it can make for some really nice scenes. You have to create the map outside NIS mode to play it; and I believe soldiers can enter buildings when you are playing the map.

How do you make the roads so straight, everytime i get a new splat it just goes in random directions, so i can't make a straight road.

As far as I can remember, you just need 3 points at the start, middle and end of a straight line then press Enter.

you're using a splat, that's the first mistake. Splats are single plates with a single texture on them, thus making curved/ even straight roads with them difficult and time-consuming.

The reason they may go in random directions is that you may have "random rotation" activated in the right-hand panel. FYI: If you hold shift and move the mouse, it will rotate the selected object.

Besides that, you should be using splines instead.

np. make sure you use splines instead too, don't waste your time with splats. When you have the spline texture selected, right click on at least 4 points on the map. The points that you designate will become the road. If you want to edit the shape of the spline, you first have to place it by pressing enter. Then, press spacebar; blue/yellow circles representing the spline's "joints" should appear. Click and drag the joints as you like. When you're done, make sure you press spacebar again.

It's more complicated than that. You have to save the map under a specific place and open it within COH. Ill make a video when I figure out how to do this. :P
