@sulfice RT can only report the information they receive concerning Japan. The Japanese Government said it was 10,000,000 times normal and that is what is reported. Today the Japanese Government said they made a mistake and recalculated if you can believe them and now it is supposedly only 100,000 times normal. Maybe RT will supply you with a Geiger counter and you can go in for them and get an accurate reading for them.

I read a report today said as Iodine-131 decays it becomes stable when it gives up enough electrons to become XENON. But it did not say if XENON was safe. The reactors are plumbed directly to the turbine buildings. The steam blows out of the top of the reactor vessel in dry super heated dry steam. This steam was water in direct contact with the atomic fuel pile under extreme excitement just short of fission in a normally functioning atomic steam engine.
