I remember being at a concert on the Northside of Chicago, Roy Ayers took a sip of his cognac from a snifter & proceeded to jam. Not sure if this was the song or not. I just wish I had gotten a picture of that!
Hello everyone, I need help on finding a certain song I heard Christmas day on Magic 106.1 FM Classic soul in Pensacola. This song sounded very familiar and had a Chicago or Harlem feel to it. It sounded like something I would hear in a commercial. It sounded like a Jazzy/Funk song and the singer had a very deep base voice. The guy wasn't really singing but was talking rather. Does anybody know the song I am talking about? Any experts on Jazz/soul music that could help me out? Thanks.
WHEN I HEAR THIS SONG,I THINK OF MY BOY, KEITH V,YOUNG BETTER KNOWN AS TEE. HE LIVED IN DETROIT MI...WE USE TO HANG SO TIGHT,HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY,BEST FRIEND!!! I LOVE YOU MAN...P.S. REMEMBER ALL THE GOOD TIMES...
no copyright infringement intended is such a retarded thing to write when you're blatantly infringing someone's copyright. not that i give a fuck but why write that?
@00PaT00 how many twelve year olds are gonna say 'cool story bro' and 'u mad' before somebody snaps and puts an ice pick through their eye. seriously, that shits played out and annoying as fuck, shut your mouth before i put my balls in it right before me and that other guy double team your sister. faggot.
@imsosick75 day dreaming, daylite, Seaching, everybody loves the sunshine, the third eye, mystic voyage, a tear to a smile, and brawling broads. With these tracks you never go back to that oh so watered down sound we all hear.
My late uncle bought this album when it came in 1975, I was only 5 years old at the time, but remember he played the hell out of that "Mystic Voyage" album (mainly Side 2). Thanks to his love of jazz, I came to love and enjoy jazz as a kid and well into adulthood. I just so wish these kids today could open their minds and explore other genres of music outside of hip hop and wannabe non talented female vocalists...excuse me, entertainers.
This is special because back in high school when I was a junior I made it a tradition to buy one jazz LP and one funk LP every week. This was the first Jazz LP and Bootsy's Rubber Band "Stretching Out" was the funk!! Man what a time.
@headedsomewhere I was 23 and finishing gradschool. I was in Chicago and saw him on TV. I think it was some kind of local TV show. The same thing happened to me. Did you catch the video of him giving a live performance in Germany in 1994. He did sweet tears and some others. It's right here on YT. Gotta see it...
Seriously, how good is this guy? Absolutely amazing! I wish I had "found" Roy sooner, discovering more of his songs and enjoying them by the day! Thanks!
I made some assumptions. Mainly that whatever other version you were referring to what some watered down you know what. I definitely was not talking about Roy.

The album of the same name was one of my favs' from the 70's. Roy's blend of jazz, funk and rhythm and blues is downright infectious.
