i own a hogie fishing pro its ok but its just 2 heavy when 2) hogie does not have reverse and in bass fishing u need it real bad now my hogie have a crack cant find it since everything is seal inside so i am on the market and definetly gonna go for the mariner sorry hogie it was good while it last time to improve
I own one of these. So far,I'm really happy with it. I took it out yesterday,cruised probably five miles all together. At trolling speed, 2.5 mph, you can do that all day.The first time I stood up in it I was pretty wobbly,but after getting used to it,it's much more comfortable to stand and fish. I haul it in the back of my pickup truck. It's fairly easy to load and unload. I'm trying to figure out a good place to mount a transponder for my fish finder.
@iseesyouthere That's a pretty good price!! I like sea kayaking, too, but I don't even have a sea kayak yet. I only have a flatable Advanced Elements kayak for now; something I wanted to start me off since I'm a beginner. Now I want 2 really goods ones... one for fishing and the other for sea kayaking.
@iseesyouthere I have local dealer demos both. hobie was the king but not anymore. the new mariner I like better for several reasons. you are not linited on how fast you can pedal the native with the hobie has been known to suffer stress cracks, the main reason I like the native over the hobie is you have reverse with it and not with hobie you have to do a 360
