I recently had a skyline in at work with a forge Bov. Its a cheap Bov, sounds like this... but worked pefectly.

I used to run a HKS on my supra until the piston wouldnt release anymore, which resulted in far to much pressure being stored.

This Bov set me back £300

I know TIAL are doing recirc Bovs which are around £210... And have been proven to leak

But not even HKS claim that they withstand any pressure.

Hence why they have pressure guidelines.

All turbo cars have a BOV, it's used to blow off pressure to keep the turbo from building too much boost, and to keep the engine from receiving more boost than it is able to handle. His BOV is not recycling the vented air like the stock BOV does. It's louder as a result of that. His car looks like it's making around 435whp or so.

Subaru uses a BOV system that allows some air to recycle. In this video the car is most likely using a full BOV system to discharge extra pressure.

@sujak27 To further your comment BOV's are meant to relive the pressure between the turbo and the intake manifold. Once the throttle body closes all that pressure gets trapped and needs to escape. If it doesn't then it reverses flow back to the turbo and then causes the turbo to spin the opposite direction which is SUPER hard on the turbo. In fact it would ruin it very quickly, so to prevent that we have the BOV. It relieves the pressure to protect your turbo from crapping out. :)

bov's are fucking annoying when people have them for the sound, you dont need them on a stock turbo it just wastes gas cause your A/F ratio has to get readjusted and gets unwanted attention. unless you have a decent sized turbo please dont get one.
