THIS is the first and best version of the song I ever heard. I have this LP too (and keep good care of it), but cannot, as of tonight, play it back...and particularly I can't play it back over warm audio vacuum tubes (like those I think I'm hearing here?).
In any case, thank you. This has helped salve a soul...that truly needed a little bit of that.
@Mulsanne917flatout Unfortunately no vacuum tubes. But the receiver that I am using in this setup, connected between the turntable and the computer, is a Technics SA-200 receiver from 1978 or so. An excellent sounding unit. Should get it re-capped though.
@727JeffN Unless you know one or more caps are bad or leaking, I'd bet ALL of them might still be good today (and just because it IS that old). I built a DIY model railroad throttle using off-the-shelf caps from a large 1000mfd electrolytic on down about 30 years back, and I just found after uncovering it again that every one I put inside it back then is still solid today. All pre-chinese stuff too though, so...unfortunately...history probably wouldn't repeat for something new I built today.
Doesn't this sound like a hot summer night with the breeze blowing through the house? Say, if that didn't sound like that to you, play what does, won't you?
wow...memories. In my '68 vw with the top down...hanging with friends. High school. My portable turntable which I had until I forgot it when I got divorced in '83....so I know my ex chunked it. That's ok..I have another table. And TONS of albums! I have to laugh at the past tho...it was crazy and fun! The CLOTHES we wore! WOW!
When you get a chance, after reposting your old videos, can you upload 'My Impersonal Life' and 'Night In The City' from Three Dog Night's 'Harmony' album? I haven't heard these gems in many years and I'm unable to find any uploads of those songs on YouTube as of yet.
@rollinglotusY2K9 I'm not taking requests at this time, but what is it you want to hear? If I already have the video made on it I'll put it back up. I have a lot of old videos from my old channel I still need to re-post. I will probably start taking requests again after I have most of them re-posted.
I will say this is a very pure and clean audio version (but I might also be missing some of the higher harmonics now, being over 50, and battling with "tinnitus").
I have the same LP (vinyl)...although it's the "Greatest Hits CD" version I most often listen to when listening direct.
It WAS this same LP track I first heard, back in...1974?
A favorite from the first LP I ever bought with my own money.

Sure takes me back. A simpler time. There is something magical about using a turntable these days of so much technology.

Thanks for posting this. Yeah, it's a good [broad...full] audio version of the track from this LP. Good for me, anyway. :-D

The song is quite popular on YouTube, FWIW.
