Do you know what the best part about the Tea Party is? Through their idiocy and ignorance they have moved the entire Republican party to the right, and guaranteed Obama a second term.
Trying to decide who to vote for? There's only one question to answer and that is,"who funds the party I'd like to vote for?". Research who funds the Tea Party - if its just the usual super-rich guys (as it is) then you can guess that they won't be interested in your concerns - just the concerns of the super-rich.
The Pea Party, dont pea on my leg and tell me its raining. Who bailed out Wall Street in Oct 2008 Bush & the GOP did, and Wall Street like Enron did'nt have to pay it back. At lease Obamas bailouts had to be paid back
The Pea Party, dont pea on my leg and tell me its raining. You would have been believable if you would have said something when Bush - Cheaney tripled the size of government, removed the Wall Street safegaurds, and added $8.4 Trillion to the defecit
sarah palin is guilty of incitement to violence. will she now disavow "2nd amendment solutions" for which she advocated in NV? the arizona shooting is an example of that sort of solution.
she uses targets and other violent metaphors, pals around with secessionists and advocates vehicular assault as a coping mechanism.
Look at Revelation 20:19 Who are the kings of Earth? Rich people with all the power? So what does this mean? Your tax dollar being used to go to war against God? That is what is in the Bible, and the bad guys have you thinking it is Bush or Obama. Don't lien to false Profits, read the Bible for yourself.
The fucking GOP just aided in raising the deficit even more, higher taxes are from your stupid welfare state not the feds, and lack of regulation is why the bailouts needed to be done in the first place. I bet none of them can propose realistic cuts to the budget. The tea party is just pawns for people raking in cash and gaining power by keeping this country divided. You're all being hustled!
@theconservativelib Well don;t let your mind go that far, the entrenched dems have more hustle going on from unions, frindge groups, G E, finacial companies, fake green energy companies than the tea party. America is being hustled by Obamas white house and the dems with Obamacare, failed stimulus (how many now) and this new faux so called jobs program that is a vehicle for Obama to call the conservatives out for not passing it. Frank and Dod should be in jail for the housing crash.
@darwinfreudfrauds You playing this sides bullshit is proof that you're part of the hustle. This "Tu Quoque" style of arguing people in politics like to do now is just sad. You listen to Rush and fox, get talking points then argue with fellow Americans while the rich are stealing your future out from under you. News flash - major parts of the stimulus have been tax cuts conservatives cry about. Where are the jobs from those? We let millionaires keep their money, now what?
Take it back for who? The folks who trampled all over the constitution the past 8 years? Or for the VP that claimed he wasn't part of the executive branch? Way to preserve the foundation of the country.
tea party express rocks !! special interest groups? you bet ? i'm a member of one of those - the hard working honest american group !! pelosi - reid - adios !!!! GO SARAH !!!!
I'm a member of a local Tea Party and I'll tell you The Tea Party Express is a fraud, it's a front for republicans that support special interest groups.
If you're interested in being a part of the Tea Party movement then please avoid the Tea Party Express they do nothing but give our cause a bad name.
Where we these people when the GOP was spending us into oblivion. They stole all our money and turned it over the filthy rich and the big corporations.
Join The Other 98% and take back the country from the rich corporate socialists.
YEAH THEY HAVE NO COMMENT..... IM GOING BACK ON ANOTHER TOUR IN FIVE MONTHES .... ILL BE FIGHTING FOR THE REAL PATRIOTS OF THIS COUNTRY. NOT THE RACIST HATERS WHO WANT TO A OUR PRESIDENT FAIL.
I have yet to see or hear any solutions or alternatives from the Tea Party for the un insured. I bet 75% if not more of the senior citizens in this crowd have Medicade wich by definition is socialist. These people never protest over their tax money being spent on schools, roads, city lights, wars, bombs, bridges ect. because that in turn effects them. the truth is the Tea Party Movement DO NOT GIVE A DAMN about the un insured.
13 TRILLION !!!! We have to give obama time to fix it. But if the right wing GOP are going to block his heath care plan . His supreme court nomination. Question his citizenship! Call him Hitler! Let him do his job. Bush did absolutely nothing for heath care .the GOP have no answers or any good ideas..just finger pointing. Obama has to changer the policies put in place by the bush administration it doesn't happen over night .
@nomajic That's where you aren't understanding the difference. If you make someone pay a fine for not doing something, that clearly shows you are being FORCED to buy it. And btw, it is a fine and jail. To anybody with common sense, it is not comparable to auto insurance. If you choose not to drive, you are not thrown in jail or forced to pay a large fine. There isn't going to be any choice at all when it comes to health insurance.
@Republican4U2Envy There is absolutely no jail penalty for not purchasing health insurance. (and you should probably find a "news" source other than Fox.) Simply, you can chose to be a responsible for your own health or to pay higher taxes to compensate the rest of us for being responsible for your health.
@Republican4U2Envy Physicians are not given a choice to allow an unisured person to die. We are obligated to treat you whether or not we believe can pay our fees. That means the choice you want is to force insured people to subsidize your healthcare out of our pockets.
@nomajic Again, you are wrong. A physician ALWAYS charges. They are forced to see a patient IF they come into a public hospital ER. If you payed attention to your bills, the physician bill is ALWAYS seperate. So, the hospital bill may be taken care of based off of income, but the physician bill will NOT be waved. Please, I'm not a moron I run a healthcare business. I know how this crap works. Don't believe me? Call into ANY ER in the country and ask yourself.
@Republican4U2Envy First, the question is not billing, it is COLLECTING on that bill. Medical bills for unisured persons are currently THE leading cause of bankruptcy in the US. To spell it out for you, a bankrupt person's meager assets are seized and their debts are erased. Primary debtors are repaid first. These are mortgages, utilities and credit card companies, not physicians. If you truly "knew how this crap works" I would not need to tell you this.
@Republican4U2Envy To recap: you honestly believe that you will go to jail for not buying insurance, think that higher taxes = "forced" to buy insurance, are unable to distiguish between billing and payment and have no awareness of the millions of unisured patient visits that occur in ER each year, all of whom are treated by hospitals and physicians gratis and then have their costs passed onto the rest of the country in the form of higher medical costs?
@nomajic If you read the law (which you clearly haven't) you would see that if you do not have health insurance, you will have to pay a fine or do jail time. To answer your last question, you can look back in my previous comments to see I already answered it. To sum it up, the people who do not have to pay anything at the ER have such little income that they should already be receiving the medical card or medicare. Look up your local hospital to see the income guidelines.
@Republican4U2Envy Please feel free to quote the section of the law that specifically mandates jail time. What you actually mean that you need to actually pay your tax bill , which will be higher if you chose not to purchase insurance yourself, or you could face charges of tax evasion. However, my hyperbolic friend, that is part of the existing tax code, not a new law made by the healthcare legislation. By the same "logic", not having kids (tax deductions) can lead to higher taxes or jail.
@nomajic If you are too lazy to look it up yourself, I am not here to do your research. It is a well known fact at this point and very easy to look up via the internet. I gave you facts on who is not insured to dispute your lies about the middle class.
@Republican4U2Envy Sorry, I can not look up you claims about the heath care bill because they do not exist outside of the fantasy world of Fox News and paranoid tea party websites. These claims exist as generalities without direct, unedited quotes.
Too funny..."lies about the middle class" eh? Care to point to a single one? No you will do as most fanatics do when faced with logic and reason. You will hurl insults and run away.
@nomajic No? It came out of Pelosi's mouth but she's probably a secret member of Fox news, right? If you think my information comes from Fox, you are more ignorant than I first thought. I already pointed out your lie about middle class. If you are too stupid to read my comments, that's not my issue. I am giving up on you because once I prove you wrong, you throw out another argument. It would go on forever and you aren't educated about the bill enough to bother debating with.
@Republican4U2Envy Just as I thought, you are unable to cite the law to support your claims. You have yet to effectiviely counter a single argument, not one. When I ask for legal documentation, you babble about a remark by Pelosi? Seriously? You need to actually read the law before you spout off these claims. You've had almost a week to back up your sources and zip.
@nomajic I will also add to that... Depending on a person's income, they can recieve a discount,100% free, or no discount at all. You pretty much have to have a $0 income to recieve free and there is no reason that person shouldn't already be receiving the medical card or medicare if they have no income Point is, if you are paying for an uninsured person, chances are you would be paying for them anyway because they would qualify for government assistance.
@Republican4U2Envy What? Your party doesn't acknowledgethe existence of Joe the Plumber anymore? I will describe for you the typical non-insured patient. This is a middle class, self employed person. This person typically has a great deal of his or her savings tied up in his business; which is in turn incorporated or in an LLC and is almost impossible to access to pay that individual's debts. The injury in turn makes earning more money difficult.
@nomajic@nomajic 15% of Americans are uninsured. Out of that 15%, a very large portion CAN afford to purchase insurance on their own but choose not to. Again, out of that 15% another large portion of people are poor enough to receive the medical card but are too lazy to go apply. That leaves only 6-8% who need coverage. (continued)
@nomajic Oh, do you really want to look ignorant by brining up businesses??? As a small business owner myself, I'd be glad to fill you in. Over 90% of businesses are small businesses. Do you realize that most of us cannot afford to provide insurance to our employees? Do you realize that when a business pays more to stay up and running than they profit, they will close down? Please, explain how that would help business owners in America?
@Republican4U2Envy Again with the hyperbole. The law mandates business owners with 50 or more employees to offer health insurance. Those with fewer are exempt. The vast majority of the small business you are refering to are exempt. As to the question of a business needing to take in more money than it expends to remain running, I am glad you understand this. Please refer to my email on graduated/scaled billing for low income patients.
@nomajic Btw, our tax dollars go to those who are on the scaled billing, not insurance companies. Again, we should already be paying for them if they would just go apply for the medical card. I'm done with your nonsense. You have been absoulutely wrong since the first comment you made to me stating car insurance is required. You know you were wrong and have since then changed your arguemnt and went off topic onto a bill that was already passed but you still have little facts about.
@Republican4U2Envy Now you are intentionally confusing an individual hospital's policy of scaling back billed cost for low income patients with government insurance programs to try to get out of the ideological corner you are in. As you said yourself, not all low income people are on these programs. Hospitals and doctors eat the rest and past the cost onto the other patients through their insurance. That is fact.
@nomajic Omg, now you are just stupid. I've already commented on this 100 times but you still don't get it. AGAIN PEOPLE WHO QUALIFY FOR A DISCOUNT ON THEIR BILL HAVE SUCH A LOW INCOME THAT THEY SHOULD ALREADY BE RECEIVING GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What don't you get about that? Have you bothered to look at the income requirements for the scale??? Obviously not or you would get the damn point. A doctor always bill seperate for their fees. What don't you get???
@Republican4U2Envy I quote: "Btw, our tax dollars go to those who are on the scaled billing" No, scaled billing fills the gap for people who are NOT on medicaid. If these idividuals were on medicaid, they wouldn't need the assistance from the hospital. Jesus. If after being blatently wrong you are now claiming that in many cases they SHOULD be, ok. Gee whiz, if only someone would pass a law that makes it diffcult for people to shirk responsiblity for their own healthcare.
@Republican4U2Envy Additionally, the guidlines for scaled/graduated billing are absolutely not identical to those for medicaid. They are set idividually by hospitals and tend to overlap at the low end of scale. They also tend to be, oh what is the word...GRADUATED for those that extend beyond the limits of medicaid. The "requirements for the scale" consist of the individual policies of thousands of individual organizations.
@Republican4U2Envy As to my original argument, car insurance is required to own an automobile and the penalies for non compliance are much more severe than those in the healthcare legislation. At the moment I am required to save your cheap hide if you come into the emergency room. To recap, if you want a similar choice in health insurance, then lobby for a law that allows me to let you suffer without offering medical care.
@nomajic No, you said it was required, PERIOD! Nobody is required to purchase car insurance! If you don't want to buy it, you take the damn bus! It is a choice to drive a car, the government cannot force anybody to go get a license! Once you do decide to drive, then it is law you purchase it. That does not mean it is required. Under the healthcare bill (which you know nothing about) you HAVE to have coverage wether it be private insurance OR government.
@Republican4U2Envy The crazy thing about these comments pages is that the comments made earlier are still available for reading. Here is a direct quote "How many tea party supporters on here feel it is a violation of their rights to be forced to purchase car insurance? " If you own a car you are "forced" to buy car insurance. (in much the same way one will be "forced" to purchase health insurance, my melodramatic friend)
@nomajic No no no, now you are combinbing your comments. I'm no fool like you. Your first comment did NOT state that you only had to purchase it if you owned a car. Again, nobody is mad over purchasing car insurance because nobody is forced to.
@nomajic No no no, now you are combinbing your comments. I'm no fool like you. Your first comment did NOT state that you only had to purchase it if you owned a car. Again, nobody is mad over purchasing car insurance because nobody is forced to.
@Republican4U2Envy As to your point that one can chose not to purchase a car, fair enough. Then the equivalent, would be to allow me to refuse to save your life if you don't have insurance. We have had the scenario where I subsidize the healthcare of the unisured (and YES, defaulting on a bill means that I subsidize your care) You want choice? Then accept the personal responsiblity to match the rights you are claiming. You refuse (ahead of time) your right to all emergency medical services.
@nomajic Again, how are you always wrong? You don't want to buy car insurance, you take the bus. You don't want to purchase health insurance, you get a higher priced bill than you would if you had it. You are acting as if people who don't have insurance are deadbeats. I don't choose to purchase it for myself and I pay upfront for everything.... that's what they make you do!
@Republican4U2Envy No, you pay upfront for NON-URGENT care. As a physician I am not required to provide this for you and can require that the unisured pay upfront. For urgent/EMERGENCY care (the type I am required by law to provide to those who can afford to but chose not to purchase insurance), you do not pay upfront, nor in many cases could you afford to do so. Further, I have no way to acertain whether or not you will be able to meet this finanacial obligation at the time of treatment.
@Republican4U2Envy Unless you are prepared to claim that these non insured people have $450,000 sitting in a bank account, just waiting for the average fatal tramatic brain injury (the total care costs of which can spiral to upwards of $4mil), or maybe even a paltry $200,000 for the average burn of more than 30% of surface area, you need to purchase insurance or yes, you are a deadbeat. You don't want to buy insurance, then allow me to allow you to die. We are tired of paying your bills.
@Republican4U2Envy You will add to what? You just wrote that a certain percentage of the population can afford to purchase health insurance but chose not to. These people are well within the parameters of full billing by the hospital. You also said that "physicians always bill for their services". So Mr.4U2Envy, what happens quite often is that they then do not PAY this bill.
@Republican4U2Envy Again you seem unable to grasp the difference between sending a bill and actual payment of bills. As a "small business owner", I would think that this skill would be one that you should consider developing.
@Republican4U2Envy Also, as a "businessman", from where do you think the money for graduated/scaled billing comes? Do the costs just disapear because the patient is not billed? Do you think that maybe, just maybe these cost are passed onto paying (insured) customers in the form of higher bills? Do you think that these higher bills are just absorbed by the insurance companies? Or do you think that maybe these higher costs are passed onto isured people in the form of higher premiums?
@nomajic Sounds like you need to look up just how many of the 90% of businesses will be hit with this nonsense healthcare bill. With the public option alone it takes 8% of every dollar you earn times every employee you have. You should also look up the guidelines of being a small business and you may be shocked. You seem to be thinking of a mom and pop shop down the road but it goes way further than that.
@Republican4U2Envy I am quite fine with the costs. The rest of us have been bearing them in the form of ridiculously high insurance premiums and healthcare costs for years. To quote your own words " if you are paying for an uninsured person, chances are you would be paying for them anyway because they would qualify for government assistance." to which I will add, OR defaulting on their bills.
@nomajic Again, fool, the only costs that are affecting you are the government programs already in place. You are basically stating that everyone who doens't have insurance never pays their bills, which is completely false. You could easily not pay your share of your doctor bills and have insurance. Because one doesn't have insurance does not mean they don't pay their bills, it simply means they don't want to purchase insurance!!!
@Republican4U2Envy Again with the name calling... sad. As I described earlier, the insured are paying both through taxes for gov. programs AND inflated medical bills and premiums. The default rate from non insured patients is currently greater than 50%. So, no not all default, but the majority do. This is why we don't want to treat them. Every unisured patient I treat is like giving a large high risk loan, out of my own pocket, to a stranger who has neither collteral nor interest.
@nomajic You and I both know that people who are insured do not always pay their bills. Maybe it should be made clear to everyone that they can pay $10 a month on a medical bill if needed and it cannot be turned over into collections. If people were more informed, it could easily help. Most patients do not even know about the hcap form to this day. (continued)
@Republican4U2Envy Depending on the region and economic climate the default rate for insured persons is closer to 5-10%, not the plus 50% forn noninsured. Even in these few cases, insurance policies have both an annual cap and a lifetime cap on patient responsibilty which mean the liability is drastically limited. Further, most insurance policies operate on a percentage of billing which means that the hospital will always recover at least 70-80% of the bill, even in a patient default.
@nomajic According to your own numers and the facts I have already given you, you have already answered the questions yourself. If 10% of insured patients do not pay, that would be roughly 30,000,000 people. If 50% of uninsured patients don't pay their bill, that is 7,500,000 people. With your own facts, you still don't have any reason to complain about uninsured people over insured people who do not pay their bills.
@Republican4U2Envy Curious interrpretation of the risks. Ddid you honestly claim to run your own business earlier? Let's see, one group pays less than 50% of the time and these default happen largely in their entirety. The other pays over 90% of the time and when they do default, their defaults are severly limited by the fact that this group is responsible for only a portion of the bill. Further, percentage of responsiblity decreases as the size of the medical bill increases.
@Republican4U2Envy To which of these customer profiles would you give a loan? Which of these customers,on average is likely to end up costing you money and which will allow you to make money? Again, over 50% default rate vs. over 90% repayment rate. Since you seem to be struggling with this basic concept, I will spare you the further math regarding the average dollar value and fee percentage of these defaults at they relate to insurance. Hint, they make the picture even worse
@nomajic I've already proven to you that your point is not valid. 10% of 85% of the population is greater than 50% of 15% of the uninsured who do not pay. The only one struggling with basic math skills are yourself. Again, there are more people who do not pay that have insurance (according to your numbers) than people who are not insured.
@Republican4U2Envy HA HA HA you are really this numerically challenged. Now I understand why you have a conservative world view. Here's a great joke that you also won't get. A salesman suggests offering his company''s products for sale at 50% of the cost of production. Says the boss, "If we run a loss on every sale, how will we make a profit?" The salesman replies, " Volume."
@nomajic Instead of complaning of the smokers, obese people, addicts, ect. who all highly contribute to an increase of insurance rates, you choose to complain about something that doesn't have anything to do with it. Why not bitch about the illegals who are allowed free healthcare? There are way more illegals in the U.S. than Americans who are uninsured.
@Republican4U2Envy I have demonstrated over the cours of two weeks and multiple post that the non-insured DO in fact adversely affect my costs. As to your concerns about overweight people and smokers, these people pay higher insurance premiums to offset their increased medical care. Unless of course, they of the deadbeat, non insured subset of our population, in which case, please refer to our earlier discussion. This is not "bitching", it is a statement of fact.
@nomajic Insurance covers a large amount of a bill usually if the person has met their deductable. About three years ago I had to go get some tests done and had to pay almost $3,000 and my insurance covered 0% of it because it was Feb.
@Republican4U2Envy Yes congratulations, you paid a deductable. These are designed to limit health care costs to an affordable level, while maintaining the affordability of health insurance. This is the entire point of insurance. That fact that you were able to afford the payment, tells me that it was within that limit. If you had a catastrophic bill, without insurance, the outcome would not have been so simple.
@nomajic I didn't pay a deductale, I paid the WHOLE bill like I told you. Nothing was paid by insurance. Without insurance, I would have paid exactly the same. Without insurance, people get better deals. If I go to my regular doctor, I get 20% discount for paying cash upfront. A surgery I just had, I had a huge discount for paying both doctors upfront. Listen to what people say before going off on a rant that is not true.
@Republican4U2Envy Jesus F-ing Christ. You paid the whole bill because it was under your policy's deductable limit. Your deductable was set at a level that is, in theory, affordable. Insurance comes into play in larger medical bills; those BEYOND the individual's deductable. As to the 20% "discount" for cash, insurance companies are routinely charged less than are cash patients due to their large barganing power. And please do not argue with this fact until you have actually Googled, it.
@Republican4U2Envy Now, if your bill was under your deductable in may not have even been presented to your insurance company. If this was the case, you would have had two options: The best would be to call your insurance company and ask them to negotiate the bill on your behalf. This keeps them further away from the eventuality of your exhaustion of the deductable. The second would be to call and negotiate your bill yourself, just as you have done in the past.
@nomajic I completely 100% understand a deductable. I was simply pointing out a fact that when people have insurance, their insurance doesn't always pay a portion. I used myself as an example. It was in a response to what you said about people with insurance being more likely to pay their bills compared to uninsured but you apparently missed the point.
@Republican4U2Envy Ahhh, I knew I couldn't get far with a Tea Partier without an angry ethnic non sequitur. When you are prepared to pay three times as much for your food, lawn care, construction, house cleaning, hotel room and clothing, then you can complain about "the illegals" . This is largely a group of people who come here to work very hard, in crappy jobs, for sub-minimum wage and no benefits. If they were citizens, they would qualify for Medicaid and I would be happy to pay for it.
@nomajic Lmao! Many of them are criminals and do not work. I figured you wouldn't mind paying for their free healthcare, that's how people like you think. They come here and take jobs away from people who are legally here AND make hard working Americans foot the bill for them. Again, the people who qualify for a discount on their healthcare bill (or 100% free) should also already be on medicaid... legal citizens of course.
@Republican4U2Envy Which is it? :-) Are they "criminals and do not work" or do they"take jobs away from people who are legally here"? "People like me" would prefer that the business owners who hire these workers be forced to pay them according to the same standards as domestic workers, including insurance. This would protect the jobs that you seem to be so concerned about. However everytime we try to secure overall protection for workers, conservatives begin nonsensical rants like yours
@nomajic As I said, many are criminals and do not. For the ones that do, they take away from a job that a legal citizen could have. If they were here legally, our pay laws would apply to them, but because they have already broken our laws, they get paid what they get paid. Are you suggesting we make all illegals that are here currently legal? Lol! You cannot force a legal American to treat an illegal as if they would a legal... That is just stupid.
@Republican4U2Envy No, I am suggesting that we isolate enforcement of the requirements for worker compensation from the prosecution of illegal immigration, much like prosecution for criminal activity is isolated from a resulting tax obligation for earnings from that activity. This would limit the ability of employers to hire anyone for sub mimimum wage and thereby remove the incentive to hire illegal immigrants. With no jobs, there would be little incentive to cross the border.
Obama inherited bushs debt. Why do you forget about that. This is bush who put us here. But yet you blame obama. We all talk about compassion for our fellow man love for our neighbors. But the rich doesn't want to take a sliver they won't notice out of there taxes.that's not America .America is helping the next man . You just can't stand a black man telling how to do it. Again admit the tea party and associations like it are racist Or have racist overtones.
As a marine I didn't agree with bushs policies. But he was my commander and chief so I respected him. You people disrespect obama at every turn.Despicable! Don't fallow blindly but question with respect and integrity to your opponents but yourself. Because really you guys look like fools. I in-listed for my sons and family and your family but I didn't in-list so you can drag OUR president through the mud. And if you want to say he's not your president then your a American terrorist
You people make me sick. Just admit already you are racist. Stop with this new age racism. I have more respect to neo Nazi and the kkk Cuz they don't hide it. Stop being so scared just say it. Bush was a retard. The guy was dumb . Admit it. If it were up to me I would send all you so called American loving patriot tea baggers to the middle east and fight for this country . The way I did. 2 tours and I'm 25. As a marine I'm disappointed to call you my fellow American
I can't believe that in America we actually have people that want huge government, more taxes, and less freedom. I can't believe liberals through a fit when Bush passed the patriot act and yet these same liberals have no problem with big brother forcing them to buy health insurance. Liberals preach that they tolerate everyone, yet they can't stand half the country, especially if your religious. I'm just trying to figure out why they are so hypocritical?
I"ll support the Tea Party when Ron or Rand Paul or Peter Schiff or Gerald Celente or representatives from campaign for liberty speak at these events. I utterly despise the thought of Sarah Palin speaking on my behalf.
Tea Baggers are not honest. If they really cared about spending then why were they silent while BUSH spent trillions of OUR money to invade and occupy countries for no good reason, and why did they sit on their fat assses when BUSH spent hundreds of billions on BAIL OUTS... only when a DEM comes into the white house are they suddenly "angry"..... this is such a dishonesty and hypocrisy on the part of the Tea Baggers.
@zoarmonkey Since Obama has promised to get us out of this mess and has done the exact same things the Bush Admin has. No I'm sorry he Increased the military budget never changed the Patriot act. Guantanimo, Special interest groups etc etc etc. The Republicrats are the problem Dems and Republicans. We need a tea party thats represented by individuals for smaller gov't.
@zoarmonkey Unless you only received all of your information from a television during the bush administration I recall plenty of people protesting the war which they still are and they aren't getting any media coverage.
@zoarmonkey I liked the Tea Party as in past tense UNTIL Sarah Palin and Fox news took it over..... Why was I on retard pills before Sarah Palin and the phony's took it over? I think it has been a little longer than 9 months i'm not exactly sure... What are you saying American's that Protested these ridiculous tax increases before the Republicrats took it over were misinformed about something somewhere?
@alaskablows --- What TAX Increases? There are none!!! You imagine what has not occurred. My taxes have not gone up at all. THAT is part of the big problem with the Tea Baggers --- they have used LIES and FOX talking points from the INCEPTION. That is what I am referring to when I say ANYONE who supported the Tea Baggers was on retard pills.
@zoarmonkey FEB 26 2009, ABC News Headline reads. Obama's Budget Almost $1Trillion in New Taxes Over Next 10 Years Starting In 2011
This week, millions of Americans will be sending their tax returns to Washington. But no matter how much revenue the government takes in, one thing is certain, it won't be enough to cover all the plans for federal spending, which will more than double the U.S. debt over the next decade.
@alaskablows ---- That was TRUE during Bush too and where was YOUR outrage then??? ANSWER: There was NONE. You are dishonest and lying to yourself,a dn yes you are delusional.
@zoarmonkey Thats funny because I voted for Ron Paul 2008 And I've been a libertarian since I deployed to Iraq in August of 05. How can you ask somebody a question and then tell them your answer to your question? I'm sorry you voted for Obama and he sucks like 99% of politicians today. I was outraged While Bush was president and he passed the Patriot Act and were rebuilding Afghanistan and in Iraq to begin with. are you just assuming I'm a republican?
@zoarmonkey How have I said anything dishonest you hypocrite? I believe you asked What Tax Increases? I then provided you with the Tax Increases, do you care to comment on that or do you wish to continue to put your foot in your mouth? Using terminology like "retard pills" and calling me dishonest and lying to myself? While asking me a question and then answering it for me? LOl your too funny!
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty! If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you. As snow in summer and rain in harvest, So honor is not fitting for a fool. Like a bird that wanders from its nest, Is a man who wanders from his place. A lying tongue hates those who are crushed by it, And a flattering mouth works ruin. - Proverbs

Here is the true voice of the Republican party expressed so clearly right here on Youtube. Thanks, Lorette!
She Says:
"Health care is not a "right" it's a luxury! I, for one, will not pay for health care for the masses... Loretta in Louisiana."
NICE! And people wonder why Republicans are a mockery of a party. I bet she calls her self a Christian to. Bwhahahaha! Jesus don't love you Loretta, you little hick.
TEA PARTY NATION. Oh, so you are going to invent a NEW nation, because obviously the United States of America was a failed experiment. IDIOTS! Go back to your computer games you geeks.
Anyone who believes a foreigner can become President of the U.S. it is highly recommended you return to the 6th Grade and this time graduate the 6th Grade.
Where was the outrage when $8.4 Trillion in bailouts was given out 2000 - 2008. I smell bigots!!
I'm losing count of the TRILLIONS these assholes are spending. All we really need is a couple million dollars or so to buy everyone a fucking cup of coffee TO WAKE THE THEM HELL UP ! ... 62 million of you assholes can't swallow your pride and admit Obama WAS A HUGE MISTAKE or what ?? ?
"When the people fear the government, there is tyranny; When the government fears the people, there is Liberty!" -Thomas Jefferson!
Health Care is 20% of our economy. If, in fact, the government controls 20% of our economy, how would that make you feel? Would you be able to say that you still believe in deomocracy or capitalism? Health care is not a "right" it's a luxury! I, for one, will not pay for health care for the masses... Loretta in Louisiana.

SOME OF THE SEVERAL REASONS IN THE BIBLE THAT WE SHOULD PASS HEALTH CARE REFORM AND HELP THE POOR, SICK, AND OTHERWISE UNFORTUNATE....
Proverbs 19:17 One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed.
Matthew 10:42 "And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."
mtx100d, You confuse charity with forced taxation. I firmly believe in helping my fellow mankind. Good deeds are done voluntarily. Taxation is not. God does not force anything on us. We are charitable out of the goodness of out hearts. And if we are not, then we must give an account to God - NOT the government!
Here is an example. If the American Cancer Society hosts a fundraiser and I GIVE them a hundred dollars, that is a charitable thing for me to do. But the ACS pushed for legislation in Florida this year to raise the taxes on cigarettes by $1 per pack so that their organization could receive part of the funds; and THAT is wrong, plain and simple. That is FORCED charity through taxation.
Thyme- ALL non-dictatorial governments, going back to the Greeks..govt. of all types (Democracy, Federal, Socialist, Communist) have all based the need for government and the associated taxes on the indisputable truth that charity and philanthropy, though good and honorable, are never adequate to drive a civilization forward. We are not advanced enough as individuals or as a culture to do all thats needed through the goodness of our hearts. To deny this.. flies in the face of human history.
Let me get this straight--Dick Armey, who helped create this massive debt we are now worried about, is now employed by Freedom Works and is decrying the debt he created and blaming the "democrats"?
Thats hillarious!
WAKE UP, people. the very people who are REALLY to blame for this mess we are in are LYING TO YOU!
Do your research instead of just playing the partisan game.
The constitution was written to protect us from these people, read the preamble. You will see "domestic tranquility." This was in their after a group, Shay's Rebellion, protesting taxation went as far as to try to over throw the government, this was seen as an unpatriotic act of civil unrest. You Teabaggers are not acting as Americans, nor are you patriotic.
Some on the Christian-right remind me of suicide bombers. They wrap themselves in a cape made of "pro-life" cloth or an American flag. But underneath their cape is all manner of destruction: The military industrial complex, endless war, the lives of hundreds of thousands killed by "collateral damage, air pollution, over fishing, and idol worship ( the GOD of big business)...all these deadly things strapped to their bodies and minds... wrap it all in a flag and then its somehow "righteous".
It appears there's a wee problem with the photograph the tea party organizers have circulated, showing "huge crowds". It doesn't include the National Museum of the American Indian, a building at the corner of Fourth St. and Independence Ave. that opened on Sept. 14, 2004. (Looking at the photograph, the building should be in the upper right hand corner of the National Mall, next to the Air and Space Museum.) That means the picture was taken before the museum opened.. five years ago.
Oh yeah, every republican cries wolf when they lose and then they try to accomplish something by having a gay tea party to bring out the worse in retards. Here's something simple. Why don't you fucks help society more. Donate to homeless shelters, help your community and those around you. Instead of wasting money driving around with a low-level mind, do good and help.
IIdksparda, while being angry may make you feel better by fueling your adreneline, it doesn't matter what you say about us. WE know who we are - you're the one in the dark. We know all about Saul Alinsky. We know all about your tricks. We just don't care about you or your vile opinions anymore. As for helping society, um, I think it IS us that helps the most, financially and otherwise. But your public radio and NBC/GE t.v. lies to you.
You people are truely in the dark. I don't see people like you helping those in need. I don't see not one of you penny-pinching bastards lifting a finger to help the less fortunate That's why this country went to hell for 8 years. Nothing but Bush retards in the midst. Why don't you go lay on your back, you slut.
Dear Lord, help Idksparda heal what is eating up his soul. Help him to see the light and the truth. Help him to learn that his obscenity filled diatribles reveal his self-esteem issues. He obviously believes that trying to tear someone down by using vulgaraties only serves to showcase his inadequacies that he tries so hard to hide! Help him, Lord, to realize that it is not too late - that he can turn his life around...that he needs to act like a human being and not be just a sheeple. Amen
And one more thing, Lord. Help Idksparda to realize that the christians, who tend to be conservatives, ARE the true compassionate helpers and financial do-gooders. Help him to see that Joe Biden only donated 3,690.00 in ten, yes TEN years. Most people, just by donating $10.00/week to church give more than that.
Help this misguided person realize that YOU know who the real charitable people are - and that his generalizations show him to be ignorant. Help him heal himself.
Do you know what the best part about the Tea Party is? Through their idiocy and ignorance they have moved the entire Republican party to the right, and guaranteed Obama a second term.

You're all being hustled!
theconservativelib 1 year ago 5

Just curious...How many tea party supporters on here feel it is a violation of their rights to be forced to purchase car insurance?
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Nobody is forced to purchase car insurance. You only have to purchase it if you CHOOSE to drive.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy You are not forced to purchase health insurance. If you chose, you are welcome to pay a tax penalty instead.
Or... I suppose you could always lobby for a law that allows us physicians to let you die if you opt out of insurance. That would be a choice for you.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic That's where you aren't understanding the difference. If you make someone pay a fine for not doing something, that clearly shows you are being FORCED to buy it. And btw, it is a fine and jail. To anybody with common sense, it is not comparable to auto insurance. If you choose not to drive, you are not thrown in jail or forced to pay a large fine. There isn't going to be any choice at all when it comes to health insurance.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy There is absolutely no jail penalty for not purchasing health insurance. (and you should probably find a "news" source other than Fox.) Simply, you can chose to be a responsible for your own health or to pay higher taxes to compensate the rest of us for being responsible for your health.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Physicians are not given a choice to allow an unisured person to die. We are obligated to treat you whether or not we believe can pay our fees. That means the choice you want is to force insured people to subsidize your healthcare out of our pockets.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Again, you are wrong. A physician ALWAYS charges. They are forced to see a patient IF they come into a public hospital ER. If you payed attention to your bills, the physician bill is ALWAYS seperate. So, the hospital bill may be taken care of based off of income, but the physician bill will NOT be waved. Please, I'm not a moron I run a healthcare business. I know how this crap works. Don't believe me? Call into ANY ER in the country and ask yourself.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy First, the question is not billing, it is COLLECTING on that bill. Medical bills for unisured persons are currently THE leading cause of bankruptcy in the US. To spell it out for you, a bankrupt person's meager assets are seized and their debts are erased. Primary debtors are repaid first. These are mortgages, utilities and credit card companies, not physicians. If you truly "knew how this crap works" I would not need to tell you this.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy To recap: you honestly believe that you will go to jail for not buying insurance, think that higher taxes = "forced" to buy insurance, are unable to distiguish between billing and payment and have no awareness of the millions of unisured patient visits that occur in ER each year, all of whom are treated by hospitals and physicians gratis and then have their costs passed onto the rest of the country in the form of higher medical costs?
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic If you read the law (which you clearly haven't) you would see that if you do not have health insurance, you will have to pay a fine or do jail time. To answer your last question, you can look back in my previous comments to see I already answered it. To sum it up, the people who do not have to pay anything at the ER have such little income that they should already be receiving the medical card or medicare. Look up your local hospital to see the income guidelines.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Please feel free to quote the section of the law that specifically mandates jail time. What you actually mean that you need to actually pay your tax bill , which will be higher if you chose not to purchase insurance yourself, or you could face charges of tax evasion. However, my hyperbolic friend, that is part of the existing tax code, not a new law made by the healthcare legislation. By the same "logic", not having kids (tax deductions) can lead to higher taxes or jail.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic If you are too lazy to look it up yourself, I am not here to do your research. It is a well known fact at this point and very easy to look up via the internet. I gave you facts on who is not insured to dispute your lies about the middle class.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Sorry, I can not look up you claims about the heath care bill because they do not exist outside of the fantasy world of Fox News and paranoid tea party websites. These claims exist as generalities without direct, unedited quotes.
Too funny..."lies about the middle class" eh? Care to point to a single one? No you will do as most fanatics do when faced with logic and reason. You will hurl insults and run away.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic No? It came out of Pelosi's mouth but she's probably a secret member of Fox news, right? If you think my information comes from Fox, you are more ignorant than I first thought. I already pointed out your lie about middle class. If you are too stupid to read my comments, that's not my issue. I am giving up on you because once I prove you wrong, you throw out another argument. It would go on forever and you aren't educated about the bill enough to bother debating with.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Just as I thought, you are unable to cite the law to support your claims. You have yet to effectiviely counter a single argument, not one. When I ask for legal documentation, you babble about a remark by Pelosi? Seriously? You need to actually read the law before you spout off these claims. You've had almost a week to back up your sources and zip.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic I will also add to that... Depending on a person's income, they can recieve a discount,100% free, or no discount at all. You pretty much have to have a $0 income to recieve free and there is no reason that person shouldn't already be receiving the medical card or medicare if they have no income Point is, if you are paying for an uninsured person, chances are you would be paying for them anyway because they would qualify for government assistance.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy What? Your party doesn't acknowledgethe existence of Joe the Plumber anymore? I will describe for you the typical non-insured patient. This is a middle class, self employed person. This person typically has a great deal of his or her savings tied up in his business; which is in turn incorporated or in an LLC and is almost impossible to access to pay that individual's debts. The injury in turn makes earning more money difficult.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic @nomajic 15% of Americans are uninsured. Out of that 15%, a very large portion CAN afford to purchase insurance on their own but choose not to. Again, out of that 15% another large portion of people are poor enough to receive the medical card but are too lazy to go apply. That leaves only 6-8% who need coverage. (continued)
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@nomajic Oh, do you really want to look ignorant by brining up businesses??? As a small business owner myself, I'd be glad to fill you in. Over 90% of businesses are small businesses. Do you realize that most of us cannot afford to provide insurance to our employees? Do you realize that when a business pays more to stay up and running than they profit, they will close down? Please, explain how that would help business owners in America?
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Again with the hyperbole. The law mandates business owners with 50 or more employees to offer health insurance. Those with fewer are exempt. The vast majority of the small business you are refering to are exempt. As to the question of a business needing to take in more money than it expends to remain running, I am glad you understand this. Please refer to my email on graduated/scaled billing for low income patients.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Btw, our tax dollars go to those who are on the scaled billing, not insurance companies. Again, we should already be paying for them if they would just go apply for the medical card. I'm done with your nonsense. You have been absoulutely wrong since the first comment you made to me stating car insurance is required. You know you were wrong and have since then changed your arguemnt and went off topic onto a bill that was already passed but you still have little facts about.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Now you are intentionally confusing an individual hospital's policy of scaling back billed cost for low income patients with government insurance programs to try to get out of the ideological corner you are in. As you said yourself, not all low income people are on these programs. Hospitals and doctors eat the rest and past the cost onto the other patients through their insurance. That is fact.
nomajic 1 year ago
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Republican4U2Envy I quote: "Btw, our tax dollars go to those who are on the scaled billing" No, scaled billing fills the gap for people who are NOT on medicaid. If these idividuals were on medicaid, they wouldn't need the assistance from the hospital. Jesus. If after being blatently wrong you are now claiming that in many cases they SHOULD be, ok. Gee whiz, if only someone would pass a law that makes it diffcult for people to shirk responsiblity for their own healthcare.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Additionally, the guidlines for scaled/graduated billing are absolutely not identical to those for medicaid. They are set idividually by hospitals and tend to overlap at the low end of scale. They also tend to be, oh what is the word...GRADUATED for those that extend beyond the limits of medicaid. The "requirements for the scale" consist of the individual policies of thousands of individual organizations.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy As to my original argument, car insurance is required to own an automobile and the penalies for non compliance are much more severe than those in the healthcare legislation. At the moment I am required to save your cheap hide if you come into the emergency room. To recap, if you want a similar choice in health insurance, then lobby for a law that allows me to let you suffer without offering medical care.
nomajic 1 year ago

(in much the same way one will be "forced" to purchase health insurance, my melodramatic friend)
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic No no no, now you are combinbing your comments. I'm no fool like you. Your first comment did NOT state that you only had to purchase it if you owned a car. Again, nobody is mad over purchasing car insurance because nobody is forced to.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@nomajic No no no, now you are combinbing your comments. I'm no fool like you. Your first comment did NOT state that you only had to purchase it if you owned a car. Again, nobody is mad over purchasing car insurance because nobody is forced to.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Atually there was qutie a fuss when car insurance became manditory.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy As to your point that one can chose not to purchase a car, fair enough. Then the equivalent, would be to allow me to refuse to save your life if you don't have insurance. We have had the scenario where I subsidize the healthcare of the unisured (and YES, defaulting on a bill means that I subsidize your care) You want choice? Then accept the personal responsiblity to match the rights you are claiming. You refuse (ahead of time) your right to all emergency medical services.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Again, how are you always wrong? You don't want to buy car insurance, you take the bus. You don't want to purchase health insurance, you get a higher priced bill than you would if you had it. You are acting as if people who don't have insurance are deadbeats. I don't choose to purchase it for myself and I pay upfront for everything.... that's what they make you do!
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy No, you pay upfront for NON-URGENT care. As a physician I am not required to provide this for you and can require that the unisured pay upfront. For urgent/EMERGENCY care (the type I am required by law to provide to those who can afford to but chose not to purchase insurance), you do not pay upfront, nor in many cases could you afford to do so. Further, I have no way to acertain whether or not you will be able to meet this finanacial obligation at the time of treatment.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Unless you are prepared to claim that these non insured people have $450,000 sitting in a bank account, just waiting for the average fatal tramatic brain injury (the total care costs of which can spiral to upwards of $4mil), or maybe even a paltry $200,000 for the average burn of more than 30% of surface area, you need to purchase insurance or yes, you are a deadbeat. You don't want to buy insurance, then allow me to allow you to die. We are tired of paying your bills.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy You will add to what? You just wrote that a certain percentage of the population can afford to purchase health insurance but chose not to. These people are well within the parameters of full billing by the hospital. You also said that "physicians always bill for their services". So Mr.4U2Envy, what happens quite often is that they then do not PAY this bill.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Again you seem unable to grasp the difference between sending a bill and actual payment of bills. As a "small business owner", I would think that this skill would be one that you should consider developing.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Also, as a "businessman", from where do you think the money for graduated/scaled billing comes? Do the costs just disapear because the patient is not billed? Do you think that maybe, just maybe these cost are passed onto paying (insured) customers in the form of higher bills? Do you think that these higher bills are just absorbed by the insurance companies? Or do you think that maybe these higher costs are passed onto isured people in the form of higher premiums?
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Sounds like you need to look up just how many of the 90% of businesses will be hit with this nonsense healthcare bill. With the public option alone it takes 8% of every dollar you earn times every employee you have. You should also look up the guidelines of being a small business and you may be shocked. You seem to be thinking of a mom and pop shop down the road but it goes way further than that.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy I am quite fine with the costs. The rest of us have been bearing them in the form of ridiculously high insurance premiums and healthcare costs for years. To quote your own words " if you are paying for an uninsured person, chances are you would be paying for them anyway because they would qualify for government assistance." to which I will add, OR defaulting on their bills.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Again, fool, the only costs that are affecting you are the government programs already in place. You are basically stating that everyone who doens't have insurance never pays their bills, which is completely false. You could easily not pay your share of your doctor bills and have insurance. Because one doesn't have insurance does not mean they don't pay their bills, it simply means they don't want to purchase insurance!!!
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Again with the name calling... sad. As I described earlier, the insured are paying both through taxes for gov. programs AND inflated medical bills and premiums. The default rate from non insured patients is currently greater than 50%. So, no not all default, but the majority do. This is why we don't want to treat them. Every unisured patient I treat is like giving a large high risk loan, out of my own pocket, to a stranger who has neither collteral nor interest.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic You and I both know that people who are insured do not always pay their bills. Maybe it should be made clear to everyone that they can pay $10 a month on a medical bill if needed and it cannot be turned over into collections. If people were more informed, it could easily help. Most patients do not even know about the hcap form to this day. (continued)
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Depending on the region and economic climate the default rate for insured persons is closer to 5-10%, not the plus 50% forn noninsured. Even in these few cases, insurance policies have both an annual cap and a lifetime cap on patient responsibilty which mean the liability is drastically limited. Further, most insurance policies operate on a percentage of billing which means that the hospital will always recover at least 70-80% of the bill, even in a patient default.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic According to your own numers and the facts I have already given you, you have already answered the questions yourself. If 10% of insured patients do not pay, that would be roughly 30,000,000 people. If 50% of uninsured patients don't pay their bill, that is 7,500,000 people. With your own facts, you still don't have any reason to complain about uninsured people over insured people who do not pay their bills.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Curious interrpretation of the risks. Ddid you honestly claim to run your own business earlier? Let's see, one group pays less than 50% of the time and these default happen largely in their entirety. The other pays over 90% of the time and when they do default, their defaults are severly limited by the fact that this group is responsible for only a portion of the bill. Further, percentage of responsiblity decreases as the size of the medical bill increases.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy To which of these customer profiles would you give a loan? Which of these customers,on average is likely to end up costing you money and which will allow you to make money? Again, over 50% default rate vs. over 90% repayment rate. Since you seem to be struggling with this basic concept, I will spare you the further math regarding the average dollar value and fee percentage of these defaults at they relate to insurance. Hint, they make the picture even worse
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic I've already proven to you that your point is not valid. 10% of 85% of the population is greater than 50% of 15% of the uninsured who do not pay. The only one struggling with basic math skills are yourself. Again, there are more people who do not pay that have insurance (according to your numbers) than people who are not insured.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy HA HA HA you are really this numerically challenged. Now I understand why you have a conservative world view. Here's a great joke that you also won't get. A salesman suggests offering his company''s products for sale at 50% of the cost of production. Says the boss, "If we run a loss on every sale, how will we make a profit?" The salesman replies, " Volume."
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Instead of complaning of the smokers, obese people, addicts, ect. who all highly contribute to an increase of insurance rates, you choose to complain about something that doesn't have anything to do with it. Why not bitch about the illegals who are allowed free healthcare? There are way more illegals in the U.S. than Americans who are uninsured.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy I have demonstrated over the cours of two weeks and multiple post that the non-insured DO in fact adversely affect my costs. As to your concerns about overweight people and smokers, these people pay higher insurance premiums to offset their increased medical care. Unless of course, they of the deadbeat, non insured subset of our population, in which case, please refer to our earlier discussion. This is not "bitching", it is a statement of fact.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Insurance covers a large amount of a bill usually if the person has met their deductable. About three years ago I had to go get some tests done and had to pay almost $3,000 and my insurance covered 0% of it because it was Feb.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago

nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Yes congratulations, you paid a deductable. These are designed to limit health care costs to an affordable level, while maintaining the affordability of health insurance. This is the entire point of insurance. That fact that you were able to afford the payment, tells me that it was within that limit. If you had a catastrophic bill, without insurance, the outcome would not have been so simple.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic I didn't pay a deductale, I paid the WHOLE bill like I told you. Nothing was paid by insurance. Without insurance, I would have paid exactly the same. Without insurance, people get better deals. If I go to my regular doctor, I get 20% discount for paying cash upfront. A surgery I just had, I had a huge discount for paying both doctors upfront. Listen to what people say before going off on a rant that is not true.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Jesus F-ing Christ. You paid the whole bill because it was under your policy's deductable limit. Your deductable was set at a level that is, in theory, affordable. Insurance comes into play in larger medical bills; those BEYOND the individual's deductable. As to the 20% "discount" for cash, insurance companies are routinely charged less than are cash patients due to their large barganing power. And please do not argue with this fact until you have actually Googled, it.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Now, if your bill was under your deductable in may not have even been presented to your insurance company. If this was the case, you would have had two options: The best would be to call your insurance company and ask them to negotiate the bill on your behalf. This keeps them further away from the eventuality of your exhaustion of the deductable. The second would be to call and negotiate your bill yourself, just as you have done in the past.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic I completely 100% understand a deductable. I was simply pointing out a fact that when people have insurance, their insurance doesn't always pay a portion. I used myself as an example. It was in a response to what you said about people with insurance being more likely to pay their bills compared to uninsured but you apparently missed the point.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy If this is still not clear to you, please look up the actual definition of a deductable.
nomajic 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Ahhh, I knew I couldn't get far with a Tea Partier without an angry ethnic non sequitur. When you are prepared to pay three times as much for your food, lawn care, construction, house cleaning, hotel room and clothing, then you can complain about "the illegals" . This is largely a group of people who come here to work very hard, in crappy jobs, for sub-minimum wage and no benefits. If they were citizens, they would qualify for Medicaid and I would be happy to pay for it.
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic Lmao! Many of them are criminals and do not work. I figured you wouldn't mind paying for their free healthcare, that's how people like you think. They come here and take jobs away from people who are legally here AND make hard working Americans foot the bill for them. Again, the people who qualify for a discount on their healthcare bill (or 100% free) should also already be on medicaid... legal citizens of course.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy Which is it? :-) Are they "criminals and do not work" or do they"take jobs away from people who are legally here"? "People like me" would prefer that the business owners who hire these workers be forced to pay them according to the same standards as domestic workers, including insurance. This would protect the jobs that you seem to be so concerned about. However everytime we try to secure overall protection for workers, conservatives begin nonsensical rants like yours
nomajic 1 year ago
@nomajic As I said, many are criminals and do not. For the ones that do, they take away from a job that a legal citizen could have. If they were here legally, our pay laws would apply to them, but because they have already broken our laws, they get paid what they get paid. Are you suggesting we make all illegals that are here currently legal? Lol! You cannot force a legal American to treat an illegal as if they would a legal... That is just stupid.
Republican4U2Envy 1 year ago
@Republican4U2Envy No, I am suggesting that we isolate enforcement of the requirements for worker compensation from the prosecution of illegal immigration, much like prosecution for criminal activity is isolated from a resulting tax obligation for earnings from that activity. This would limit the ability of employers to hire anyone for sub mimimum wage and thereby remove the incentive to hire illegal immigrants. With no jobs, there would be little incentive to cross the border.

@nomajic I agree with that statement.

ThymeTravelers 2 years ago
Here is an example. If the American Cancer Society hosts a fundraiser and I GIVE them a hundred dollars, that is a charitable thing for me to do. But the ACS pushed for legislation in Florida this year to raise the taxes on cigarettes by $1 per pack so that their organization could receive part of the funds; and THAT is wrong, plain and simple. That is FORCED charity through taxation.
ThymeTravelers 2 years ago
Thyme- ALL non-dictatorial governments, going back to the Greeks..govt. of all types (Democracy, Federal, Socialist, Communist) have all based the need for government and the associated taxes on the indisputable truth that charity and philanthropy, though good and honorable, are never adequate to drive a civilization forward. We are not advanced enough as individuals or as a culture to do all thats needed through the goodness of our hearts. To deny this.. flies in the face of human history.
