  • This helped, especially the part where you can get behind the player. I can't believe these videos arn't getting more views.

  • This is a very good video. Telling that checking is to get players off of pucks only is a great thing to teach. Although, when would you start saying start finishing your checks?

  • @BabyJakerz - finishing your check should be taught after your players have become proficient in the actual checking technique. The intent of finishing your check is to gain body position and reduce the chance of the player remaining part of the play. The skill needs to be taught carefully however to prevent "late hits" and hitting just for the sake of hitting. As far as when to teach it, I'd pay more attention to proficiency than age.

  • Do you mind if I use your video for training purposes? My name is Jennifer Ginkel and I work with National Dizzy & Balance Center out of MN and we have a full comprehensive concussion program. I would like to use this tool with kids on the proper techniques of giving and receiving a check. Can I post on our FB page?

  • @DizzyBalanceCenter - sure, feel free to post to your FB and use the video as a resource in your program. Thanks for watching!

  • @m2hockey Great, thank you for the videos. They are very educational.
