No one can replace the voice. I mean come on,Steve perry was the one who saved Journey from being dropped from their record label, written more than half of the songs that they now still use, and is in the R&R hall of fame.

I wish Pineda all the best. It's cool that he got an awesome opportunity like this! I just wish that Schon and Cain would stop rehashing Perry's songs as they're unintentionally (intentionally even?) making Pineda look like a carbon copy :(

He also came up with the vocal melodies . If not for him Arnel would have no voice to copy and no melodies . Journey is Perry and Schon

I've seen Journey with Steve Augeri and Arnel Pineda and both singers capture exactly what Perry did. It's impossible compare them but the fact is, Journey is much more Neal Schon and a lot less Perry than people realize. If I played Arnel Pineda singing some of the classics and didn't tell you who it was, you'd never know the difference because the band behind him has never lost their touch. On this, btw, Perry sounds like his voice is blown. :(

I've been a huge Journey fan since 1981. After all these years, I don't see why I have to accept this new singer. Whether he's good or not doesn't matter to me. I just miss Steve so much!

I saw the regrouped Journey recently. The cute filipino kid sings so eerily close to SteveP...he must've practiced in front of the mirror his whole life!! But still Mr. Schon, some of us liked Steve for Steve. I know Arnel's makin' u plenty of cash, but Steve (just as much you) was Journey. I just got up and left-it just got sad opening my eyes every time and not seeing Steve. (Heart and Cheap Trick totally rocked though!!) (Sherry Perry, very funny-kids?!--Terry and Gerry Perry? I saw that concert at Jones Beach, NY this past August and yea arnel was pretty hard to watch, but the rest of the band is still great, but there will NEVER be a replacement for steve

If I'm not mistaken he broke his hip in like

'96 and the rest of Journey were trying to rush him into getting it fixed, and he didn't really want to rush, so Journey just got a new lead singer(Steve Augeri). And he tried too hard to sound like Steve Perry, so I'm glad they found Arnel, cuz it seems like he doesn't really try THAT hard and he still sounds pretty decent.
