Be careful with that video...it is great for teaching them to recognize the letters but when I was trying to help my son blend the sounds and asked him for the sound of the letter "o"...he kept making the Tarzan sound they did in the video...lol

u r soo on the right track...retired military family..hence I was home with a newborn, 2 and 3 yr old baby girls and I did exactly what u r doing....they r 17 16 and 14 now and they actually have conversation about how I would teach them and they appreciate it..I mean they have there struggles in high school, but it helps early on, when they have the basics..good job...

He will definitely be ahead of most as you continue to support him in early education. Also if you can find so fisher price counting cd's where he is able to use the computer to learn counting it will keep him busy for a while too, I use it when my son was younger and he has been excelling ever since....

Sunshine this is wonderful. Are you going to homeschool him? I think it is an awesome idea. That is my plan for my children. And it is actually God's Will for us to home school our children. The Bible does say the child will be like his teacher and the way schools are nowadays (anti-religious) its not safe physically or spiritually to send our children their anymore. I love his enthusiasm!! lol. I've been teaching for over 6 years now and what i used to do with the little one's I've taught was use salt or sugar. I would coat the bottom of a shoe box with the salt/sugar/sand and use their finger to create/trace/draw the letter. This even works for kids learning how to spell or do math. When u combine education with tactile sensory it tends to solidify the skill they are trying to learn. You are doing a great job with him! He is a bright one!
