i hate shopping at the mall..majority of the stores run out of certain sizes..thats y its better to shop online because theres a higher chance that what your looking for is available and cheaper
I am afraid that jobs will be lost. Part of the reason is the cost of health care. Retailers won't have to worry about health care rent, overhead when the can just have lower overhead, and sell everything from the net in the future. The future just doesn't look to bright. Jobs will be lost due to technology.
There is, and there will be room for both, shopping centres and online shopping...
Then day shopping centres are going to disapear, is when an instant delivery is available. This technology is still science fiction. It's shown in the movie The Fly, where using a "Telepod" mater can be transfered instantly.
Thanks - teleporting retail goods is science fiction of course but an interesting idea.... we do it for virtual goods such as software already, by allowing people instant downloads instead of buying a package in the computer store.
Well a short video clip has to compress complex thoughts into a sound-bite. I agree that speed of getting product will not be enough to save traditional retailing. Expect a significant shake-out. Experience for customers will be important - as part of a leisure activity. Patrick Dixon

Terribly sorry Patrick, having to fund repayments on my 'affordable' 8X salary mortgage on my tiny flat means I can't afford to go shopping.

Very interesting, however I'm not sure that speed will be an important enough factor!
