This is probably a very stupid question, but how are you supposed to realise that you need to press a hidden switch to open the secret passageway? Does some character clue you in to walking five paces south from the right throne?

@BanjoFella I think a guy back in Figaro Castle hints at it after reading the diary. It is very easy to miss.

i see online that you kill the blue dragon he rewards you with save the queen. but i didn't get that when i killed it. i noticed you didn't either is there something you have to do to get it while fighting the blue dragon like steal it?

@mangafreak29 its sad that FF7 gets more praise than FF6. FF6 had more in it than that. heard of the dragons den, but never about the ancient castle. there is so much even after beating the game

Okay possibly stupid question: Why do they call the 'leveled up' Odin by the name of "Raiden" when in FF8 the 'new and/or improved' Odin is "Gilgamesh"? Are Gilgamesh and Odin two different GFs or did they really just expect FF fans not to notice? (or is there another explanation?)

Well it could have to do with the translators, but I'm not really too sure why. I do know that Gilgamesh is a famous enemy in FFV and FFXII. To be honest FFVIII is a Final Fantasy that I'm not very experienced with.

To answer your question Gilgamesh is not a improved Odin, he is a traveler who is looking to become the strongest, he just heard of Odin and wanted to defeat him to get his sword, Odin and Gilgamesh have nothing in common.

but if you remember that in FF8 if you got odin early in the game, Siefer is the only one who kills him then Gilgamesh replaces him

in FFIX it shows that he is a treasure hunter

Gilgamesh is a different character, based in mythology. There's a Gilgamesh Esper in the FF VI Advance retooling.

Yes it can kill interceptor. But what I did last week is teach 10 out of the 14 characters (I don't use cyan, gau, strago, and another one I dont remember lol) meteor because it's the only way to learn it with odin so after that I was gonna turn it but since guilgamesh magicite (GBA only) teaches quick I decided not to get raiden. Since this is PS1 I would turn it AFTER learning meteor. But good job :D

You can learn meteor at a X10 rate with the magicite Crusader (obtained after beating all eight dragons.) So I really don't need Odin, although Odin is the only esper that gives you a bonus in the speed stat.
