The Tea Party is a very diverse grassroots movement with no organized structure or leadership, state or national. As such, no one group or person, including guy with poster, is at all representative of the whole.

@nightflight83 Heh, well - in fairness - Latinos, of which I am one, come in all shades and can be difficult to point out, nevertheless - in all the coverage I've seen I have yet to see anyone that could be identified as Latino or Asian, so it's not just about "Black."
But a simple metric is to visually compare the Tea Party protests with "Liberal" events - like the ones @ the Republican Conventions or Iraq War protests. Those crowds were by far more diverse.
I think it's very telling.

And this is not to say that I assume all White Anglo Saxons / Americans / People of European descent are racist. That too would be racist.
A very large preponderance of Whites voted for Obama in 2008, otherwise it is doubtful he would have won.
But let's not kid ourselves: the attitudes of the past are still with us. And these Tea Parties are primarily (I'd guess 99.99 percent) White. Many of them have publicly demonstrated their racist hate with signs expressing racist slogans and imagery.

It's one thing to decry Bush/Cheney as war criminals. you'll have no argument from me there. But Obama's hands are tied by the powers-that-be within the halls of our government and the media.
No President wants to be known as the one who "lost" a war; If he pulled out of Iraq/Afghanistan on day one he would have been pilloried as weak on terror.
It's not as easy as snapping your fingers and undoing eight years of malfeasance.

if it makes any difference I seriously doubt anyone better will come by in the next three years. Tim Pawlenty (governor of Minnesota) might have a chance, he's moderate as Republicans go. Ron Paul is popular in some circles but too radical for mainstream America.
God help us if Sarah Palin gets the nomination, but I don't think she can win against Obama. Though I dare not risk overconfidence in what the GOP can pull out of its sleeve.
Other than them I don't foresee anyone else being a player.

Well I would like to see Ron Paul or Ralph Nader run a good campaign next election if they decide to run for president.
