Listening to Deval, I didn't hear him stop and say "Sen Obama said "quote, unquote" friends who collaborate don't usually find it necessary. If you say Obama is plagiarising, how will you explain Hillary Clinton copying from Obama? According to Deval Patrick,he and Obama have been friends for years and have shared thoughts,expressions,and contributed phrases to each others speeches, so in this case I think they both felt it was alright to use them. Listening to Deval, I didn't hear him stop and say "Sen Obama said "quote, unquote" friends who collaborate don't usually find it necessary. I dont think their main goal was to gain credit for a speech, but to have the best possible way to express themselves and inspire others.

As long as Obama's not laying claim to famous speeches, I'm find with that. I've heard Obama's own words being used by Hillary, Bush and on half the new T.V. commercials. There's really not too many great words left that hasn't already been put together. What matters is "how sincere are you about what you're saying." This whole argument is build on the lame premise that Obama 'plagiarized' Patrick's word, a man who is the chairman of his campaign, who gave him the permission to use these words (words that neither Obama nor Patrick own, but rather a various quotes of dead presidents).
Obama is the only President in recent history to have authored 2 books and taught the Constitution @ university. If he plagiarized anything, the media and academic world would have discovered it.
