  • don't think these engines had traction motors? if i remember correctly the wheels were driven by driveshafts straight from the maybach engines through some sort of gearbox or something.

  • @24nov67 Drive from the Maybach engine's is transfered to the wheels via a Voith hydraulic transmission (1x Engine and transmission unit at each end)

  • Having been use to hearing EMD,GE and Alco locomotives from time to time. This isn't a bad sound either. Nice sounding locomotive.
