Stephen Hawking makes virtually every other human on this planet look like a complete failure. He’s suffered from a debilitating motor neuron disease (ALS- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) since his early twenties, yet has become of one of the greatest scientists who ever lived. When President Obama awarded Hawking with the Medal of Freedom, he joked how Hawking was both "a brilliant man and a mediocre student." Hawking was in fact a mediocre student and it is very clear to me he has used his ALS to manipulate public sympathy.
