While I personally don't agree with Dean's methods, Sam had to know that was gonna happen when Dean got ahold of him. At this piont he'd have to be crazier than he actually is to think that Dean wasn't gonna hit him at least once for running off alone (with the Impala no less).

Sammy, Sammy, Sammy *(sighs)* If you want Dean to stop hitting you, stop givign him reasons to. Even if he hadn't tracked you down, he would've punched when you got back. I'm a younger sib too, I get it.

Seriously I have a young sibling and have never hit him. We would just fight verbally. Sam's head has gone from a 4 star to a 5 star size with all the hits he's gotten from Dean and others on this tv series. If Sam hit Dean as much as Dean hits Sam ...then all the Dean /Jensen fans would be tweeting, blogging, texting, emailing bloody mary ! Sam is in an abusive relationship with his brother and instead of hitting back , Sam usually just walks away for a few days rather than HIT Dean back.

@Iwiccaozzie Well ur little sibling is very lucky I'm the baby, like Sam, and my older sibs have no problem hitting me. not that I don't agree that Dean needs to not use his fists to solve every issue he has with Sam. Frankly, with everything thats happened to them I think Dean is a Sam abuser and Sam has Stockholm Syndrome.

But name one time, Dean has hit Sam, that Sam doesn't deserve to get hit, by someoneO.O This time right here, Sam stole his car... ppl get shot, or arrested for that. Sam listening to Ruby(a demon) instead of Dean and Bobby. Sam becoming a vampiric-like creature, etc. etc. Even though, I don't personally agree with using violence to get points or emotions across to someone... almost every single time Dean hits Sam, he deserves itO__O

@Ackles4life Season 2, episode 3 entitled "Bloodlust" Dean punches him across the face, hard. Sammy did not deserve that one. I'll admit normally Sammy deserves it but whenever Dean deserves it he rarely gets it, I appluad Castiel's efforts in changing that (5x18) Dean deserved that. And just because someone desreves to get hit doesn't mean you should, talk to them first, beat some sense into them only as a last resort. Don't hit them then talk, which seems ot be Dean's strategey

Dean's natural response, when dealing with painful emotions, is to get angry. I'm not condoning(sp?)it, but that's why he hit Sam. I never said Dean hitting Sam all the time, was okay. Hell, I agreed he hits him too much. But have you ever spent time, with a bunch of guysO_O They usually 'hit' first. Before 'talking it out'. because guys r the more physical one's.

But yeah, I'm in no way saying ALL guys are the same, or that they're is no guy who can talk things out, because Sam's actually an example of 'said guy'. But in the real world, guys will most likely hit first, talk after, when they've calmed down. ESPECIALLY when dealing with painful emotions. And also, the fact that Sam talks through his emotions... it actually makes sense to have Dean's character b the opposite0.0

@Ackles4life Frankly I'm suprised you realized I was a girl, there's people on her who have referred to me as 'him' I know guys normally hit first, hell I'm normally more comfortable throwing it punches than talking something out. I guess I just feel a bit of empathy for Sam, I have two older sibs (a sis by 3 years and a bro by 4) and they always the "I'm older" and when it comes to my bro first of all he's stronger than me (i personally believe Dean is stronger than Sam)

and he gets in way more hits than me and because we both watch this show ppl draw parallels ppl have called me "Sammy" b4, and everyone is hard on sam "he started the apocalypse" and everyone just kinda forgets that Dean broke first seal I guess its just kinda an empathy thing. i know what its like to be the little sib who constantly hear "I'm the oldest" or "becasue i said so" like dean tells sam all the time and don't like how often he hits him

So they're both the cause of the Apocolypse(sp?) Well... right 'under' the angels that is. I symphathize with Sam, a whole lot, but I'm not gonna lie... my heart's with Dean^__^

This is like back to the old days when Sam saw good in people or monsters and didn't want to kill them but give them a chance, whereas Dean only saw black and white, that is if somebody's bad, they will remain bad. I like that they visited this whole thing again, even if circumstances have changed.

They're both people, which means they're both extremely flawed. However, just in terms of Sam, you have to admit he pushes Dean to the breaking point and all Dean can do is try his best to keep his little brother alive.

There's a difference between Sam and Soulless Sam. Sam does not push Dean to the breaking point. There's no excuse for Dean to punch Sam all the time. It doesn't bother me, but to say Sam pushes Dean to hit him is "pushing" it, IMO. No pun intended :)

@Disneythievesrock Because when he was souless, Sam didn't care. And you're definitely right, Dean is pretty much physically abusive. But if you look back, Sam is emotionally abusive. And I think it just has to do with their differing personalities... Dean doesn't like "chick flick" moments. He rather hit, than 'talk', and Sam loves to 'talk'. I love both actors/characters evenly...
