THANK YOU! so much for this! I'm new to AE and this is exactly what i've been looking for! It's Brilliant.... Not to mention you're voice is easy on the ear!
@MrSuperGeekster Can't post a link - so type 'parchment font' into the search engine of your choice. Once you've downloaded the font file, double-click on it to preview, and select 'Install'. You'll need to restart Windows for AE to register any newly-installed fonts.
@0zon3xPwnz Wouldn't it have been easier, though, to just create these layers initially in photoshop, since as you convert a letter into shapes, you'll end up with the vector outline, where you can easily just delete nodes, instead of using the eraser tool?
Hello! Wonderful tutorial! However I'm using CS5.5 The Trial version to get a feel before I decide the buy, when you start moving the write on at 9:04, the brush doesn't trace, could it because it's a trial version?
@Snakecharmeeer This was done using After Effects CS3. I'm using CS5 now, and there are slight differences in regards to this tutorial. Instead of selecting Create Outlines, in CS5 you select Create Shapes from Text.
Hi shortformvideos, i'm using cs3, but when i'm strarting to do the 'brushthing'... it didn't brush. i only move my brush position. what am i doing wrong. can you help me please?
@jmie83 Sounds like you didn't set the paint style in your Write-on effect settings to 'reveal original image' - as indicated at 9:54. Hope this helped.
@0zon3xPwnz I'm guessing that you're using CS4 or CS5. In which case, right click on your text layer and choose 'Create shapes from text" instead. It was Create Outlines in CS3, but changed in later versions.
@whendt Hehe - I'll have to make sure you get part three soon so you can add as many particles to your own version as you like :) Should be up for the weekend.

@ReaReaUmbi Sounds like you haven't clicked on the stop watch to enable keyframes, so you're not recording your changes.
