You are not missing anything. The Ultimate Box is a compilation of all the previous DL packs (Cagney/Davis) plus the party pack, which can be bought separately. The only advantage is for those who have a small hard drive and need to clear up the space. There is no other difference.

The trophies for the toy cars and boost cars were released before the actual cars. I don't know why they did it, but no, the cars weren't released until a few weeks after the trophy update.
