Well this happens in rock music. There are only so many melodies and eventually you will find yourself hearing similar melodies going around.

But I agree that the similarity here between these two songs is quite big.

It's pretty obvious Your Love Is A Lie is pretty much sounds like Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, it's very noticeable. And I'm talking not as a fan, but as a music lover. Sure, I really prefer Simple Plan to Green Day (love both of them btw). But still, there are still differences between each songs, so, I wouldnt really call it plagiarism yet.

I don't think this is plagiarism. If two people come up with the same thing, it would be suspicious, but if three people come up with it, then you begin to wonder if a ton of people came up with the same thing independently.

Also, even if the instruments sound very familiar, different lyrics change the feel a bit.
