ben was the the 2nd clone of peter parker (kaine was the 1rst) the jackal would tell ben he was the real peter parker and he'd do the same to peter to mess with them, norman osborn changed the anwser of a test to have it say peter was the clone, but it wasnt untill ben's death by norman osborn when his body turned into dust did peter find out ben was in fact the clone
