Thanks, Gregory. I've done a LOT of research on this topic over the course of the last 5 or so years. I had around 100 related sites saved at one point before a virus crashed my comp, several books, etc. It is mind boggling how distorted the Turkish side has made this issue. They almost had me fooled prior to my research.

The war was between the Ottomans and Russia, not the Ottomans and its Armenian citizens. The VAST majority of those Armenians in the Russian army that Turks so love to refer to were RUSSIAN CITIZENS! Though there were certainly some, very few were defectors from the Ottoman side. Russian citizens volunteering for the Russian army are NOT "traitors". That would be like saying an Arab-American in the US army is backstabbing Arabs by fulfilling his duties/obligation of fighting in Iraq.

Being allowed to join the military was one of the benefits offered to the minorities when the Young Turks took over the Ottoman Empire. Armenians DID donate many men and the few weapons they had to the Ottoman army (upon Turkey's request, saying it was needed for the coming war). Those soldiers were disarmed and killed in early 1915 to greatly reduce the number of able-bodied men who may put up a resistance to the later "deportations.

The Movie is a tribute to the many lives that were tortured and stolen from the people of Armenia and all of their descendents.
The Turks called this "ethnic cleansing" and they have done this to the Kurds and all of these atrocities have been documented and recorded in archives from the early twentieth century. This is an never ending cycle of hatred motivated by religious and ethnic prejudice.

Archieves basicly say "it was a TEHCiR,(moving group of people one place to another) 'Ottoman army had to do it, cuz they were stabbing us from our back!" It was during WWI, it was a big War! People got killed, Turks got killed, Armenians, Americans, Germans got killed.. BUT Turks did NOT genocide anybody!

The war was between the Ottomans and Russia, not the Ottomans and its Armenian citizens. The VAST majority of those Armenians in the Russian army that Turks so love to refer to were RUSSIAN CITIZENS! Though there were certainly some, very few were defectors from the Ottoman side. Russian citizens volunteering for the Russian army are NOT "traitors". That would be like saying an Arab-American in the US army is backstabbing Arabs by fulfilling his duties/obligation of fighting in Iraq.

Armenians were "Ottoman citizens" and were conscripted into the military in 1914, liquidated, then the women and children driven into deserts of death and exile. The YOUNG TURKS (allied with the ARF Tashnak Party) planned and organized the GENOCIDE of 1914-1923 (ABDUL HAMID OR YOUNG TURKS GUILTY in 1909 and KEMALISTS continued the GENOCIDE into 1923 with policies)

Armenians killed by Abdulhamit were in the 10s of thousands not 300000! Then that would be the genocide.
Christians were exempt from military service if they paid money.
It is absolute bs that Armenians all joined the army. Most of them went to Russians.

Being allowed to join the military was one of the benefits offered to the minorities when the Young Turks took over the Ottoman Empire. Armenians DID donate many men and the few weapons they had to the Ottoman army (upon Turkey's request, saying it was needed for the coming war). Those soldiers were disarmed and killed in early 1915 to greatly reduce the number of able-bodied men who may put up a resistance to the later "deportations.

The ARMENIANS were massacres in the 1890's. 300,000 massacred, 500,000 homless. It is unreasonable to think none of them would be upset with Turks after they grew up in Russian orphanages. As for treachery, Armenians (all men aged 15 to 55 or so) joined the Ottoman army in 1914. They were liquidated. Armenians in IRAQ and IRAN during the IRAN IRAQ war weren't massacred by Hussein or Khomeini. TRY AGAIN but no blaming the victim for GENOCIDe next time, ok?

I'll give you a big secret: Wait another 20 years. If Turkey is in a position to get into EU maybe a very liberal government will accept it as historical truth (Ottoman Empire and Turkey (est 1923) are 2 different entities so there won't be any reperations or apologies).
By that time all "survivors" will have died off and none of them will get the satisfaction.

The funny thing is, if ou look up CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER (the man who says, "You're a liar!" on you tube with the search term ARMENIAN GREEK JERUSALEM you'll hear a PBS SPECIAL in which he spoke quite succinctly about the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE. If you click on the VIDEO RESPONSE you can hear the actor who says "LIAR" speaking the truth. Turks love to deny :)

Armenia has been killing a lot of Azerbaycan citizens to enlarge the country's borders. You can search about this! They killed and abandones many Azerian villages until now.
Ottoman Empire is one of the biggest empires existed in the history. The Ottoman culture was famous with being respectful to every culture it includes. Turks ruled the whole empire for 600 years, but nobody was forced neither to speak Turkish nor to be muslim.

If the aim was to kill them, Ottoman Empire would not put them to the most important places in government! When Armenians attacked Turks to get their freedom and started killing them, an army was sent to stop this violence. Therefore, both sides fought. It is written in the records that the number of Turks died in was is more than the number of Armenians. You can also find this document in America's archives!

You should be searching before you decide! Read the history, not the political speeches! not the media! In 1913, people in the Ottoman Empire were counted to know the exact number in the empire. Armenians were almost 500,000 people. In 1915, Armenians wanted their freedom and attacked against Ottoman Empire. Ottoman Empire had a lot of Armenia origined citizens in government places until then!

Turkish archives are all open for the historians! They have the chance to do research there! French, English and American documents prove that there has been no genocide! In those years, Armenians applied to America saying that Ottoman Empire killed them. America sent two spies for this purpose, and the spies' letter is in the archive of America today.
