I just started my locs a few days ago, so I have a while to go before I am able to put beads and decorations and such in them, but THESE are amazing and I can't wait to start making my own! xoxoxo-Kat
@mzfit4u I usually go to Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics, but there are also may resources online. I just randomly find them through google for specific items in a search.
ok...so i happened to have some 20 gauge wire around...how about i just sat here with a pencil, some tweezers(aka benders) and a nail clipper (aka wire cutter) I made one! It actually came out cute!! Thank you so much. I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to try it. But at least after tomorrow I will have the proper tools...LOL
thank you soooo much for this video!! ive been tryna figure out ways to spice up my locs and make them look a little more glamorous... if i would have known that you can make your own loc jewelry then i would have done it a long time ago.... thanks for the video
Hope you are selling these......This is Great and 1 of a kind....This should have made you a millionaire....Hope you have a website.....you will get paid!!!!!
I'm an artist, you did a great job, I used to make jewelry when I was in Collage to earn extra money. Thanks to you, I can now make my own loc jewelry, I saw some loc jewelry on line very expensive. I didn't think of making them until I saw this...Thank you so much. You Rock !!!
Thank you so much for doing this! I would love to make my own loc jewelry, but always thought it would be too hard. This looks simple enough that I am now going to try it! thanks again! :-)
I am a loc'd sista who lives in Toronto Canada and while there is a huge presence of loc'd people here in the city, its hard to find the accessories. I have always thought of making my own but didn't know where to start. Thank you so much for this video! While i'm not tat creative this videa and all the other videos inspired from it has gotten my creative juices flowing!!
I do have one question, how do you make the nice snake shape in the wire?
I make the snake shape by just bending the wire back and forth using a rounded object for the bends. You can use a pencil or something smaller as a guide. Just takes a bit of practice to get it to look right. Try it, not as difficult as it may look.
Ms. Pinky love the video, however I have one suggestion...the music was a bit loud and in some parts it was hard to understand what was being said. Other than that I love this idea, I dont have dreads but I do know a few ppl that do and this would make a nice gift. Thanks so much for the ideas.
Thanks Pinky!! I've used the shampoo and your right it does clean your locs really good... Before I started using Suave I was using Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo and girl that stuff cleans your hair as well. And it makes your hair incredibly soft like I've never seen before!!!Every couple of months I dye my locs black... Will the shampoo strip my color if I use it? Also how often should you wash and maintanace your hair???/
I'm not sure if it will strip your color or not. I've only colored my hair once and that was very early in my locing process. The color on my ends remain the same. I wash my hair quite often, at least 2 times per week and more than that in the summer in the shower. But I do my total maintenance now once every 60 days or so. I love the flexibility and no longer being scared of water. I can wash it everyday in the shower if I want and just go!
I know this comment isn't on this video, but that Suave clarifying shampoo and conditioner really work on loc hair? Also thanks for the info on the last comment I've sent you.. Peace and blessings!!!
Pinky - Thank you so much for this vid. Please do more like this one. I ran out and brought the wire and some beads. I can't wait to show you what I made. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed today so it's a no-vid day - but as soon as I can speak I'll do a vid. response.
i would like to say thank you for this video...i found the jewelry making tools approx. 5 for 9.99 at joann's for 9.99...it was online. Again i say thank you for the video it was most helpful and i am looking forward to applying the method...
They aren't all that expensive. I think I got my little kit from Michaels for under $25 and it had 5 different pliers, etc. inside. Actually Michaels has a website you can check for current prices. Also if check JoAnn fabrics if you have one in your area. The wire and accessories aren't that expensive either. If you get into it, look on ebay and other sites on the net for bulk stuff, it comes out cheaper that way.
Thank you :) Yes, I got the rest and relaxation I needed even though I had to cut it shorter than I wanted. But my son is away at camp so mommy went to hang out a bit and have fun!
