I may be going to st Lawrence college Kingston campus in September, but I don;t know if I want to stay in res because I will be two years older then everyone. I may being going for wind turbine technology. Have you heard anything about that program. I'm scared because i'm a girl and mostly boys are in that program
@Bubblegumprincess23 I talked to a guy who was in turbine tech during the open house and he commented on how the program was great because it gives you not only your turbine but also gives you a complete electrician background too. Not sure about the male to female ratio for your program but i know its the complete opposite for the vet tech program and those two guys seem to be doing just fine lol.
@34psychotic As for res its not for everybody. Its a great transition for living on your own giving you lots of support for your first year. I think there are spots for about 60 returning students so they are not entirely 17 and 18 year olds lol. when i was in res there was a gentlemen who looked like he was in his 30s but it still is a stereotypical res. Res is expensive for what it is but sometimes its better than a year lease on a place.
Sweet! I got accepted into biotech at Algonquin last year and again for next year but declined to take pre-health science and then med lab for next year. My friend and i both got into the same program and got into rez so we'll be roomates. I saw the double rooms during the open house. very small, lol. Any tips for a new SLC student? I can't wait to get into those labs at school!!!
@canadianspirit sorry its been a while finals were killers. So cause your in med lab you guys get all the new shiny equipment! im always peeking at all the cool stuff you guys get to play with. the school is rly easy to get around but some stair cases are tricky. res wise you get a meal plan but its only enough for one meal a day so you'll still have to figure out some meals on your own. sun there is usually not much food in the caff if you show up early you might snag a sandwich if your lucky.
@canadianspirit otherwise i rly love the school and a great idea that i have in the vid is to grab a map from the kiosk in front of the library and write your schedule on it if you get lost easily.
@canadianspirit Awesome! I'm just finishing up my second year of Biotechnology this Month. In med lab you'll be sharing some of your basic classes such as chem and microscopy with 1st year biotech and vettech. Lemme know if you have any questions bout res or anything Good Luck! ;D
