  • who the hell wud dislike this? lol

  • thats so badass

  • This would be my Halloween decoration. ONLY THIS!!!!! :D

  • i want one lol

  • O_O SO EPIC!

  • its a fucking real dino right here, enough with andy serkis, this ladies and gentlean is simply the real thing

  • Dear santa...

  • What gets me is how they always talk about how great the CGI was in this but to me the Anamatronic Rex was the most realistic. I could tell then can tell now theeeeeeeeeeee end

  • WOW national geographic for dino's

  • Hi Animatronio!

  • ok thats just creepy how real it looks

  • expensive & very worth it

  • t-rex should have been nominated

  • @dela26chitown someone's been naughty this year

  • I find it amazing how the dinosaurs in JP1 look more realistic than the ones in JP3 lol :-/

  • T-Rex: "What's my motivation in this scene?"

    Director: "Anger!"

  • T-Rex just happy to finally get his big break into show business.

  • You mean that wasn't a real T-Rex...What the fuck bro.

  • dude i'd shit bricks if i walked in on set and did'nt know that they were working on a Jurassic park xD

  • I would gladly trade in my car for that thing.

  • If i was on the set and that look at me i would SHIT!! myself!!

  • WTFFFFFF Show me when t rex eat person

  • I want one! O.O

  • wish they would make a new jurassic park, i've seen the first one at least 100 times. Did anyone have jurassic park the game on ps2 lol

  • @MrSUUGZZ USUALLY ALL TEH JUEASSIC PARK GAMES ARE GOD AWFUL BUT OPERATION HENESIS IN MY HUMBLE AND CUALIFIED OPINIOSITS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME

  • @MrSUUGZZ no i didn't but I had operation genesis on a PC

  • That looks so realistic 0.o

  • This is why I love Hollywood. :D

  • FAKE

  • @enigma19833 no dip its fake, it was animatronics tthat made it move

  • Imagine having that in your backyard

  • When they bring back full scale, full body animatronics and have them move independantly/remotely, it will be known as 'The day CGI died'.

  • @ViceCityVacation the only problem is that this will probably never happen.

the machinery involved means that the animatronic will always be heavier than the actual thing.

say that a real T-Rex, made of flesh and bone, weighed a few tons. now imagine one made of metal and latex.

a 2-story animatronic that weighs several tons and move independently simply isn't feasable.

and it's not like CGI is BAD, Jurassic Park is proof of this. it's just overused nowadays.

  • @SonicSnail95 I know, I know....one can dream can't he? It's just my childlike fantasy : ) The real T-Rex proportably weighed as much as 2 or 3 full grown African Bull Elephants, so that's what...6-7 tons. Or 7.5 metric short tons, can't remember. Faaaark that would be awesome, the animatronic version would be huge. I never said CGI is or was bad, I loved ILM's CGI for the JP franchise. IMO it is quite simpy still the best, apart from Pete Jacksons 'KIng Kong'. Movies at least.

  • 2 people got eaten by the t-rex

  • could some1 help me?

is JP4 realy coming out 2012-2013?

  • @TheSebass16 problably.

  • @TheSebass16 It's coming out 2013/2014.

  • @RextremeTV thx :) to bad it will take so long :(

  • @TheSebass16 No problem! ;)

  • @TheSebass16 It's on hold for now. Stephen Spielberg has been so busy on War Horse, and Tintin but he's now currently shooting Lincoln, and Jurassic Park 4 is on the schedule. It may drop until 2013 or later.

  • @TheSebass16 yes sir!

  • the dislike bar is like a ninja, it's there but you cant see it.

  • Teacher- Explain why you're an hour late to class.

Me-*gestures toward window w/ Trex outside*

    Teacher- ....*runs*

  • I love animatronics and I love CGI.

  • No it's real , see the guy at the end cleaning up the dino crap with the rake?

  • I would put that ion my front lawn on halloween. Scare the neighborhoodkids shitless.

  • That looks amazing, even...what...16 years later?

  • Holy shit that looks real :O

  • Dear Hollywood, stop using crappy CGI for everything AND BRING BACK ANIMATRONICS!!!!!!!

  • @TheBinarySon *Facepalm*

  • @blacklotus808 ...you disagree?

  • @TheBinarySon Maybe a little bit, I’m a 3d model artist, working with 3ds max and zbrush.

However I am old enough to remember how it was to be in the 80s, and yeah it was cool.

The good thing here is they mixed animatronic Rex with CGI Rex and created something that still looks good all these years later.

You know a lot of the animatronic guys from the 80s upgraded to CGI.

I don’t know it’s personal preference in the end I guess.

Sorry if that made no sense… it's Friday night I’m high.

    : )

  • I would love to borrow it and put it in front of my sister's yard at night.

  • I am the biggest JP fan ever was a great movie about bio engineering all 3

  • i love t rex and jrassic park by far the best movie everr

  • i think that was donated to the universal hollywood ride after making it it looks just like it

  • so much better than cgi, the scene when the rex walks out of the paddock on to the road is my fav scene from any movie

  • @nunchuckerz That particular shot was cgi!

  • spared no espense

  • @Jimmy12163

    haha ;)

  • thats beautiful

  • That's amazing. Why didn't they move the thing to a theme park after the movie was finished?

  • @ndalum75 I know! They should've sent all the dinosaurs they made from all 3 films to both Universal Studios theme parks and set up a big place near the ride where the people can look at these animatronic dinosaurs and the dinosaus could move around so the people will feel like they're seeing real dinosaurs. You know, like a zoo. That would be extremely awesome!

  • Screw cgi. When you got great engineers and animatronics you don't any fake shit. Real is always the better choice!

  • Dear Santa...

  • they shond put him and the studio tour

  • God, it's hard to believe that thing moves so quickly. I've heard it's damn difficult to make that huge of a robot that moves that smoothly and quickly. Frikkin amazing!

  • It probably took Spielberg millions of dollars just to make that T-rex, and it just looks so freaking amazing. True piece of art!

  • I wonder who the T-rex's agent was.

  • damn that thing must be scary up close lol

  • amazing

  • "a priceless footage"

  • Stan Winston owned CGI like a bitch! Long live Stan!!!

  • and who else thinks that they need this one in that walking with dinosuars live show i do!!

  • that is the best t-rex ever made every time i see one on tv i alway think about this one

  • ok 1. shes beautiful, wonderful piece of art and machinery

    2. if i went on set it would be sooo hard for me not to just hug the rex or sit on its head

  • epic

  • This is absolutely incredible. The attention that goes into animatronics is unparalleled. However, let us not forget the wonders of PROPER CGI that is used for things that simply cannot be achieved with a puppet. Such as using Bruce Greenwood for the subtle emotive qualities in the face of the Super 8 alien (Cooper). But why Francis Lawrence decided to use CGI for all of the vampire zombie things in I Am Legend I’ll never understand… Total let down.

  • It looks so real.

  • Dear Santa......

  • @TheKillerqueen5 DEAR UNIVERSAL...

  • @TheKillerqueen5 Give it up fatman. I got mrs clause tied up to c-4 and the rest of your elven crew lined up ready for execution at my command. And as for frosty, i always thought he could use a vacation to the tropical islands of Hawaii. Retrieve for me the animotronic dinosaur and i shall spare their lives. Resist and they will all die.

I'll leave the milk and cookies out.

    Love Jimmy

  • That would scare the shit out of me literally everyday I worked on set.

  • If I was a T-Rex.....well....now I know where I'd be!

  • Hrm.. I would love that in my backyard.

Good way to keep the neighbors dog from # 2 in my yard.

  • will it blend?

  • Thing looks like it could get up and walk away... If it had legs, of course.

  • And then it came alive for REAL and ate the whole crew!

  • jurrassic park was the most ground-breaking piece of cinematography of all time, in both CGI and animatronics and was not bested so far, not even the gay avatar comes close.

  • @Talavaj yh because avatar is waaaay better than tht crap ....

  • @qkhan3 hahaha no jurassic park 1 to 3 was way better than avatard

  • @Talavaj

you are just an ignorant and have no f*cking idea what you are comparing.

  • when i was a kid and i heard they made a animatronic life size t rex i pictured it with legs walking around the set....

  • I want to ride it like a horse.

Sometimes I find myself wishing Dinosaurs still walked the earth just to be able to marvel at their impressiveness. Assuming they were locked up in a zoo of course.

  • WOW that thing looks very real here :D

  • Comment removed

  • Don't forget, this machine was only used to knock down the fence and push the car around. The rest of it was. . . wait for it. . . you're gonna love this. . . CGI! Yep, that's right, most of the dino shots in this movie were CGI. CGI that cost a fraction of what this machine did.

It's probably not collecting dust in storage anywhere either. Hollywood rarely hangs onto large props and never keeps sets. Which means, it was probably destroyed the moment Spielberg decided he was done with it.

  • @Xissrfo nooooo! why would they do thaat

  • ... what do you mean?

    is this not real?

  • R.I.P. Stan Winston

  • What's the problem with CGI? Heard people complain about it often. Not realistic enough? Some looked pretty real to me.

  • No T-Rex animatronic beat the one in the first - I actually remember being really disappointed with the T-Rex puppets in TLW and Jurassic Park III because of how fake they looked compared to this guy/gal

  • stan winston's puppets/ anomatronics where the best in the world (not only in jp movies but in all movies he lent them for.)

im just curious to see how the pull of JP4 without these puppets.

  • Goddamn, that's the most impressive and realistic looking animatronic I've ever seen...

  • @Unsung0101 its spelled 'gosh damn' oh well, you tried.

  • @TheWaynelds "Gosh"? Are you afraid to swear or something?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheWaynelds I didn't intend on spelling gosh...

  • @Unsung0101 why? so you openly admit to cursing Gods name? I know not everyone believes in God, but at least be considerate for those of us who do by using a different choice of the word you put in front of damn. I'm not christian or a church go-er or anything, but i would never dream of cursing anything that had anything to do with creating me. whats so hard for people to use "Gosh damn" or just "damn" instead?

  • @TheWaynelds Considering all the different kinds of hell religion has added to the human experience, i don't think religious beliefs deserve anyones respect, and certainly not mine. It is ok to criticize peoples delusions, particulary when those delusions have such mind-boggling consequences, evident in both present and past.

  • @aigg Right, which is why i dont go to church or associate myself with any religion. I think religion is the main reason why there are so many athiests today. Some of these christians make God out to be some evil dictator, while claiming he is full of love & then throws souls into hell for not being perfect. I on the other hand, can see through all that BS and know God isnt like that. Everyone and everything had to be created by an awesome being. Why religions have to ruin this for us? idk

  • @TheWaynelds Well the reality is I simply don't care. But hell, why should anyone care? You're the ONLY person to make a big deal over it. This is a video based around simple footage of an animatronic dinosaur and you're talking about god... Yeah, did you think you'd actually be getting somewhere with your petty lecture? Do you notice anyone who cares? I didn't think so. You got beliefs, and we all do. So why waste them here? With that said, if you don't mind, I got better things to do.

  • @Unsung0101 haha then why'd you write a long comment or read all of that in the 1st place if you dont care or "Have better things to do"? And a lot of people respect my view on this and dont say it anymore, or at least in front of me.

  • This thing looks incredibly life-like; the guy in the white shirt looks like he's the animal control guy...

  • everytime when I see that Facker my heart beat so fast, you can't even imagine.

  • 2 people were eaten by this puppet

  • I want that right now!

  • I want one! :D

  • looks so F***ing real

  • it looks alive !

  • the things i would do for that....

  • I wonder what happened to that animatronic.

  • thumbs up if you thought that was a real clip

  • And yet again, the deficiency of CGI is highlighted. CGI is okay when it's absolutely necessary, but until then, animatronics and costumes are the way to go.

What's that, Hollywood? "CGI is cheaper?" Well, these days we the moviegoing public are so sick of CGI overdose, we will go see a film more than once just to savor any physical effects it used! That should more than make up the extra cost of having a few robots on set.

  • Kid: Daddy! It's a T-Rex! A real life T-Rex!

Father: That is only a machine you ignorant child. And by the way, the Easter Bunny isn't real either. And I am not your Father.

  • can u realize that kind of beast existed on our planet ? x_o

  • once again.. fuck cgi!

  • @robzombie676 I'm fine with CGI. I just hate it when they overload it. When they used the CGI in the original JP film that was alright. You couldn't have the animatronic walk around. But when they are making movies know in which there's almost nothing but CGI, it's boring and the quality is shit.

  • @aDinoSupremacist CGI alone does not make a movie shit. Take the Clash of the Titans remake. It was a bad movie not because the CGi was bad, but the acting, story and dialogue were horrible.

  • @robzombie676 I have to disagree here. CGI is just fine, if it is used in the right way. There is always going to be a place for animatronics in the same way as there is a place for CGI. Jurassic Park is the best example for how well they can work together.

  • @LVskywalker

yes.. a little dose is just fine..

but since CGI grows bigger and "better".. it seems like EVERY movie needs it..

you cant be serious if you think thats ok..

  • @robzombie676 well... I do think it is okay. Creating CG characters and animating them is not less artistic than stop motion animation, in my eyes. It's a tool, and I don't see any reason why we should not use it. However, what I can't stand is when CGI is abused to the point where it is laughable, or unnecessary... That's just bad filmmaking. So I guess we agree.. sort of?

  • @robzombie676 As someone who does that for a living... :(( - Blame the retard directors and producers who overuse it! Michael Bay for instance!

  • @JerryTheSquid

sorry mate.. i was not talking bout cgi in general..

i love me some good cgi.. but the fact that big studios use it as a moneysaver just cracks me up everytime..

image what they could do nowadays with animatronics and stuff..

but no.. the just want to make money.. and that is sad..

    u go on sir..

  • @robzombie676 No worries, it's all good. I think we can both agree that animitronics should be used more. The last thing I'd want is for that craft to die out but I don't think this will ever happen.

  • @robzombie676 Yeah! Fuck CGI! Except for the fact that most of the dinosaur footage in Jurassic Park was CGI.

  • @tylerdriftwood

i am talking bout the fact that cgi is a cheap way for studios to save money..

so they dont need to build these wonderful AM´s anymore.. sad story!

    go troll somewere else

  • @robzombie676 its not fair saying that. this animatronics are perfect? yes, without a doubt, but the CGI did an amazing job too. I think both work very well, one for natural and fast movements, and other for close ups. lets give a thumbs up for both... Jurassic park without CGI could never exist, and on the making of you can see Spielberg saying that ;)

  • @robzombie676 Not entirely .... I would elaborate and say "What's the purpose of realistic CGI?" But then, I like CGI toons.

  • dear santa...

  • fuck CGI!!! ITS ALL ABOUT animatronics!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice!

  • Cool!

  • Amazing video. In 2013 I am looking forward to seeing THE ICE GORILLA and Jurassic Park IV in movie theaters.

  • where its trailer

  • jurassic park 1 and 2 had the best visual effects

  • if i was an actor, i wouldn't have to act around this thing... i'd be cacking my pants instantly. front and back.

  • Damn! Spielberg should have shot more wide shots of the t-rex instead of just its head, that looks amazing!

  • @D00R

Indeed, I think this is as close as you can get to the real thing.

  • Money well spent :)

  • short story idea: serial killer that hijacks the control for the animatronic and kills people with it. opinions?

  • @unicornsexNickHeck

How many people do you think he'd manage to kill with it? Enough to become a serial killer? Lol

  • @KleineHansel eh thinking about it it kinda sounds dumb but buut the premise would be he'd already be one.

  • damn i want that !!!!

  • Where is the t-rex today?

  • @vfmc77 I know that Stan Winston's Studios (now Legacy FX) had the Velociraptor skull/electronics (and possible a full one) in one of their storage lockers. The skull/electronics appeared briefly in "Hollywood Treasure", but I don't know if it was auctioned off or not. It's possible that the T-Rex itself was placed in storage at Winston's company or at Universal Studios itself. Truly hard to say.

  • @vfmc77

The last I heard about it, it was moved to Universal Studios California.

The skin the T-Rex and Raptors had was made out of foam rubber and latex. After 6 months, it would rot away. So where it is now, it's no longer covered in it's original skin.

The T-Rex they used for Jurassic Park 3 was a different one, and they physically destroyed it in a fight with the animatronic Spino. After filming was done, they literally had them fight each other. The Spino won, like in the movie.

  • Comment removed

  • @vfmc77 It's in Toys R Us in New York. Do a search for "T-Rex New York Toys R Us"

  • Man, I remember when this movie was in theaters, you could hear the T-Rex roar ALL over the theater XD

  • Wow. That's a pretty compliant dinosaur... They must've had a lot of those goats handy, or I bet he wouldn't have been so patient.

  • Pretty sure that I remember hearing on one of the behind the scenes that the dinos' skin deteriorates, so after filming, they dismantle and recycle them. Sorry, everyone :(

  • Where the hell is this T Rex now lol?

  • Ok.... WOW!!!! I love the Jurassic Park franchise... From the sounds to how the dino's actually look... Stan is a genius!!! Cant wait for JP 4 ;))))

  • Stan Winston was a genius.

  • also the fact that it's life-sized makes me want it more.

  • he could be a really primadonna
