  • i think phish, moe and umphreys are no where near the caliber of dmb and alot of other people think so . That is why they don't get any attention. phish really sucks when you are sober.

  • dave gets more media attention than alot of other good bands such as phish, moe, umphreys..

  • First DMB song I learned on guitar. Been hooked on those crazy chords ever since.

  • this is a good song to do homework to. totally underrated too.

  • Little Tim is such a beast

  • my birthday! what a great gift that would've been.

the future is no place to place your better days.

  • I was at this show :) What a great atmosphere and crowd that night.

  • This song definitely slipped under the radar...one of his best. And this is mind-blowing performance. Thank you for posting.

  • @deeteetwo it deff did slip away, it's a shame too. i too think it is one of the best.

  • #36 was written about "some african guy" Chris Hani. this song? i have no idea.

  • is this song about some African guy that was killed or something or am i like way wrong??? someone tell me im trying to figure what this song is about!!!

  • Steve Biko

a South African journalist who wrote against apartheid and was later murdered

  • This song was writen about Steve Biko.

  • it was written about steven biko...and the movie he was in called cry freedom - released back in the 80s about apartheid in africa

  • Underrated song. One of the most amazing songs written by DMB.

  • dave is actually credited for writing it, not the whole band.

  • Dave a sell out? Are you kidding me, shows how much of a dave fan you are, after they recorded that CD they fired their producer!! Exactly, he never gets coverage from the media, never gets any grammy's, nothing!! He wants it that way, he is sick of the US and how we turn everything to Commercialized, Capitalist Bullshit!!! Dave is the exact opposite of a sellout, he donates millions in charity every year and puts on free concerts all the time, what other performers do you know who do that

  • you tell him!

  • yeah....he's the man

  • I went to a concert of his where all the money went to the local charities of Charlottesville, which is where the band is from.

  • reminds me of bad religion. great band.

  • amazing...dave and tim are the best guitarist ever

  • this song is so beautiful

  • I heard this is suppose to be able Stephen Biko or dedicated to him.

  • no way dave is a sellout he gets no coverage from the press or media

he does it for the music and hes a great guy who helps out the world

we could use a ton of people more like him in the world

  • I second it. Dave's someone to look up to.

  • this performance gives me an E-boner.

  • Dave, you really chage my way of seeing the guitar. Thank you!. You´ve teach me so much.

Peace in your mind and love in your heart!

    Hug from Portugal!

    DeTigre

  • he never sold out. he's as good as ever. go get a life. musicians change. if fans can't accept the changes, they're not real fans.

  • now see if you're gonna be a douche be a correct one, DMB "sold out" with everyday.....two years before this performance, so atleast be close with your stupid statements. God forbid a band ever decide they want to move in a different direction creatively!

  • What a beautiful performance. He sounds just like the album.

  • First! =)
