ls my xbox360 controller is compatible with this game because playing this with the keyboard and a mouse isn't really the best thing to me...

@Heroinedown Yes.  It should be. I use a generic PS2 type Controller and that works fine. See no reason why yours wouldnt work

Its tricky though as English speakers basicly need to email them with your credit card info and tell them the product you want and its code number on their shop page along with your adress of course. You could always go thru Play Asia Dot com but you will pay more for it then getting it from  Falcom,but it will be much easyer

I agree, but falcom should make it easier to buy the games, and have the games translated to english from the start.

@zangetsu2k8 Falcom is a small company and based in JAPAN and make games for the JAPANESE MARKET. You cant expect them to translate every game they make into english. For that they would need a N. American branch which would be more expensive then its worth having to pay corporate US taxes and all the hassles that go with it. The best you can hope for is companys like XSEED to buy the license and translated them

Ys Books 1 and 2 Turbo Graphics, PSP(Book 1 Sega Master system, PC Dos), Ys Oath in Felghana(3) PSP, Wanders from Ys(Ys 3) Snes, Genesis, Turbo Graphics, Ys VI PS2 and PSP and Ys 7 for PSP. The only games that were never licenced and brought Stateside where Ys origin Ys V and YsIV. You can get Engluish patches for both Origin and Ys IV SNES and YsIV Turbo. So really every game IS availible to you in English except 5

@Alianger Starting with Ys VI Ark of the Napishtim. Then They Remade Ys 3 and Called it Oath in Felghana. Thier is an English translation patch for both Oath and Napishtim. Also a patch is comming out for the game above: Origin

Hey Adol, quick story for ya. I'm 27, been gaming forever. First time I ever heard of Y's was when I rented Y's 3 for the SNES. I thought the game was too hard and didn't play past the opening dungeon. Anyways, even though I'm not so much into gaming anymore, I suddenly find myself really appreciating how pure and old school this series is. I'm totally into it now and am looking forward to VII on the PSP. I think I'm going to buy the PC versions too, just so I can own them. Thanks for the video!

In The Game he's called 'Majin Tooru' You can see this on 2:04 of the Ys origin Trailer. Majin is his title like a demon or something and Tooru can be translated as either Thor or Toal. Toal Make much more sense especially if youve played Ys2(Noble District of Toal) Which houses the statues of the Six Priests

Hmm, I guess I'd expect the Japanese to be トアル if it were "Toal" and not トール. How is the "District" spelled in Ys 2? Also, in the Chinese translation the last character of his name is "er"...

I know Google translate isnt spot on but if you put トール in thier it comes out as Thor but if you look below it it also says Noun: toll Also if you put Toal in thier it translates to トール. トアル translates into Toaru. Really i guess either is exceptable as falcom's own Manual for the game says Thor, But that seems incorrect when you take into account District of Toal

Hmm, if you ask me (and that's also what many translators usually do), I'd go with what's in the manual. Unless the guy is actually related to that district, and/or is speled the same.

Its just Falcom's Engrish. Navtive Japanese Speakers dont call Dark Fact Dalk Fukt, for example. Thats how Falcom spells it. If you watch the Anime in Japanese you can hear they dont call him Dalk Fukt, but Dark Fact. Trust me its not Thor Fukt its Toal Fact

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the way I'd take it. Japanese doesn't have an "L" sound, so the transliteration of a katakana word back into latin aplhabet can go either way in the absense of an "official" way to do it.

The music actually reminds me of the music from Valkyrie Profile. The composer is Motoi Sakuraba and if you haven't checked out Valkyrie Profile, do so either the PSP version or the PS1 version... and then there was Valkyrie Profile 2.... That game had to be taken off retail markets because of how amazing it was, it was so good that all other companies complained about it melting their games with its sheer awesomeness... well it was REALLY good so get a copy and play it NOW!

No but the game is playable without knowing Japanese and I know enough of the back story to know whats going on. Its a Prequal to Ys 1 that takes place 700 years befor that game and tells how Ys became a floating island in the sky.
