@pennilesscripple No problem. The solution is coming. Cass Sunstein and John Holdren in the Obama adminstration have ideas to protect us all from the ravages of industrial civilization with solutions like restrictions on birth, restrictions on innovation creating artificially high energy prices for consumers to discourage consumption, restrictions on health care for the elderly (they really don't contribute to society). sometimes the "solution" is worse than the problem.
@pennilesscripple No, and you're right I wish the administration would stop lying and tell us exactly what their plans are for America's future. They certainly have been ignorant of the economy for the last 18 months, ramming thru a healthcare bill that a majority of Americans don't support and violating the US Constitution forcing Americans to buy something they don't want. Where is that in the Constitutions? So you're right, Obama disseminates lies and is willfully ignorant.

Now, see, sweetness; THAT'S the kind of thing i was trying to clue you young guns in on... no-one said anything about his being shot until you did; now everyone pretty much knows that you gunned him down, likely in cold blood. Luckily, he was a kraut so no-one cares, but still... gloves, PC. Wear gloves. the Threads Have EyeEars, Maybe.
i do not believe that you have even chosen a door, i believe that you are a sad individual who sits behind her computer and critizes others because you do not have the courage to face the real world.
why just post youtube videos and not make a true change?
i take it as a personal insult when people complain about a problem, and do nothing to fix it. the world is made of whiners and complainers; there needs to be more problem solvers.
i personally see no evidence that i am wrong in my assumption.
what would be a "true change?" are you suggesting that people should not be making media encouraging an audience towards consciousness??
what is a "true change?" growing your own food? Pennilesscripple does that. living off the grid? save water and occasional youtube access, Pennilesscripple does that.
please give me an idea of what you mean by "a true change."
I laughed so hard when I saw what was behind door number 3.
And in my laughing I realised something. Even people in the Zeitgeist movement don't want to choose door number 3. They want a technotopia. I just don't see technotopia, the answer- door number 3 sounds much more feasible. Thanks for the video!
yeah it blows my mind that people think that just one more dose of technology will fix everything, when we've seen what it has brought us to. this culture has more faith in technology than it does in mother earth. it's nuts.
speaking of 'topias', i wrote a song called 'truetopia' that is on zzz33333's channel--you might find it valuable
well done PC, :) guess i have to go watch deathinkings vids now. you know what?? i was living my pretty superficial life for a long time, untill i met this Shoshone spiritual leader: watch?v=1AbrlqoLdx4
He touched my soul, and my life has never been the same! I will always choose window 3! Shundahai!
thank you for the link leon. i was just reading about the destruction of over a million acres of pinon pines on shoshone land in the 1970s, which destroyed their food base, and about the uranium mining and testing--breaking my heart and enraging me at the same time. you are blessed to have met that leader.
heartbreaking it is!.....should we really be as proud as we are of people like; Curie, Einstein and Oppenheimer. They have lead us onto this path of destruction. In all their wisdom, they were deaf and blind to the consequences of their work. If one day the indigenous people would decide to reclaim Turtle Island, i'ld support them, hehe.
btw, i am, and feel, blessed indeed! bless you too!
yes exactly...we need to examine who we actually look up to, who we listen to. the wise ones are there for us to listen to. they've been patiently waiting for us to ask. it makes me nuts when corporations and scientists discuss 'sustainability'...why not ask the folks who have been living sustainably for *thousands of years*? they might have a few tips....
we all need to stand in solidarity with and *listen* to native people all over the world if we are going to get through these challenging times, and to save as much of the flora, fauna, mountains, and rivers as we can.
penni you get any deeper...and i'm gonna have to scribe your comments in the earth's core...loved it as usual...and isn't it "penniless cripple?"- guess my ass is watchin' 3 answers next
It was a surprise, door three, but so, so right. Without him even knowing it, the failure to respect the First Nations cultures is going to haunt Mr. White Man, till, like forever. Or till he turns his twisted head thataway.
yes tees it strikes me that indigenous people come from cultures that have lived sustainably for thousands of years, while the dominant culture continues to fuck things up royally. so where should we go for wisdom on how to live sustainably? to more bureaucrats, scientists, and businessmen, who got us in this mess? seems we could turn to the indigenous folks...and listen
Yeah I'm willing. The book I just finished reading is "We Were Not The Savages" by Daniel Paul. It will result in some action from me, but when it sinks in a bit deeper.
wow! thats now 100 bucks for me and you!. regarding bank fees - you can subtract them from my share - ill send you the bank thinks asap - forgot yesterday
I love this. It could be taken further - broken down into chewable-sized films such as window 1 - exotic food, window 2 - CO2 gas emissions - window 3 native products., etc. They should be made and placed on national television at least once an hour until people start getting the message. :)
the whole concept of rating on a scale of 1-whatever is one of the many ills of youtube in particular and our society in general. see my video 'three answers' for your other question.
I really struggled to watch this because the music fried my brains and set my teeth on edge. It's America, right? I don't have to go through any doors, I don't think.
you wouldn't believe the reprehensible tactics the dairy industry used against the brave souls who tried to keep them from putting bovine growth hormone in the milk in the first place
and now the dairy industry is trying to push through laws that organic dairies can't label their milk as hormone-free
My theory is that my people don't know how to cook. And so, no one knows how to make: spaghetti sauce, salad dressing, mayo, relish, pickles, curry, etc, ad nauseum. So, we collect these jars of every kind of condiments the marketers can convince us to buy, and since they are condiments, they aren't eaten all at one go, but instead languish in the fridge for years. That, and we like to hoard things. And buy things with as much packaging as possible. That takes space, too.
chellis glendenning says that the best work we can do for the earth is to stand in solidarity with indigenous people, because they know how to live in harmony with the earth(we obviously don't) and their land/existence is being threatened--as with the birds and bugs and animals, once they are gone, they are gone...the land they live on is like on the front lines of the earth wars (very broadly paraphrased and added to)
in conclusion then 3 IS best. in winter one can cosy up in one's wigwam with some knitting or a good book(or red indian equivalent) and in summer do water sports in the sparkling lake. but if as some people suggest 3 is only a movie, then being a movie star could also be OK.
well i know you're kidding, but you, or rather the character you're playing today :), has apparently never been to a national park--they're a roadbuilder's paradise
and it's not about perfect....
(thanks! i bet reliableinsider a hundred bucks someone would leave a comment like this)
and also it's not about the past, or 'going back,' whatever that means.
why is that people think that native peoples (all over the planet) are historical? there are still plenty of indigenous (albeit endangered) people who live in harmony with the land today. they have been trying to tell us some very very simple things. maybe we should listen....
People choose door number 1, ignore door number 2, and leave it to their children and grandchildren to open door number 3. I don't think that is going to work out that well for them.
what about pre biblical Mesopotamia with guns and different philosophies?
I think that's what he meant... scattered villages of people trying to scrape by. Nomadic peoples both good and evil. Some surviving modern technology while we still are practically back in the stone age.
allen i've been thinking about the gated communities, and i totally hear what you're saying. i would also add that the very fact that they are gated tells us something. after all, within those gates people breathe polluted air, and their bodies and homes experience the same ongoing toxification, and their kids kill themselves....they experience the same fragmentation and isolation.
yes their gates shield their eyes from some of the more visible, ugly, effects of industrial civilization...but their bodies and souls? the very fact that they think the gates can bring them something called 'security' tells us they aren't free....
Hey! I've been homeless, I've breathed poluted air and been iradiated by mobile phone masts, so where's my Dolce&Gabana perfume and trip to Disneyland? Bah, this game sucks.
oh you'll get all those things and more if only you believe in the golden promises of technology and capitalism...just work hard, watch more tv, and be patient....

Loooooove it. I'm willing to give door #3 a whirl...just for fun :D

chellis glendenning says that the best work we can do for the earth is to stand in solidarity with indigenous people, because they know how to live in harmony with the earth(we obviously don't) and their land/existence is being threatened--as with the birds and bugs and animals, once they are gone, they are gone...the land they live on is like on the front lines of the earth wars (very broadly paraphrased and added to)

3 looks nice. damp in winter though, i should imagine.
quietdesperationpaul 4 years ago
yeah cold in winter
warm in summer
wet when it rains
dry when the sun shines
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
in conclusion then 3 IS best. in winter one can cosy up in one's wigwam with some knitting or a good book(or red indian equivalent) and in summer do water sports in the sparkling lake. but if as some people suggest 3 is only a movie, then being a movie star could also be OK.
quietdesperationpaul 4 years ago
I take it back. i choose door 2. i like the 'lived in' look.

the best way to avoid hyper-thermia is physical-love-contact-f#%king-sex...and fun too....better then a heater, fire or electric-blanket

But the world behind Door #3 looks so clean. An entire planet that looks like a national park without the paths or the trash bins.
Isn't that just some liberal fantasy?
The world was never so perfect, was it?
There have always been concrete sidewalks and asphalt roads. I think.
Or am I wrong.
ReliableInsider 4 years ago
well i know you're kidding, but you, or rather the character you're playing today :), has apparently never been to a national park--they're a roadbuilder's paradise
and it's not about perfect....
(thanks! i bet reliableinsider a hundred bucks someone would leave a comment like this)

White Man comes, makes Flat Black all over,
cuts down trees to make Fake Mountains,
makes top of Fake Mountain Flat Black too.
Rain comes; Flat Black on Fake Mountain now lake.
Mountain falls. White Man make more Flat Black so can get more trees make new Fake Mountains....

civilized man flies to next inhabitable planet
(doesn't exist, but that's a small matter)
makes flat black all over....

and also it's not about the past, or 'going back,' whatever that means.
why is that people think that native peoples (all over the planet) are historical? there are still plenty of indigenous (albeit endangered) people who live in harmony with the land today. they have been trying to tell us some very very simple things. maybe we should listen....

People choose door number 1, ignore door number 2, and leave it to their children and grandchildren to open door number 3. I don't think that is going to work out that well for them.
crazycatfguy 4 years ago 2
True, except door number 3 is going to turn out more like Mad Max than Dances With Wolves.
BrightHelmVellas 4 years ago
i dont think it will be anything like either of those silly movies
zzz33333 4 years ago
i know this is an unpopular viewpoint
but i don't think life in general
is like the movies
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
lol. Shhhhh! You're spoiling the magic show!
BrightHelmVellas 4 years ago
what about pre biblical Mesopotamia with guns and different philosophies?
I think that's what he meant... scattered villages of people trying to scrape by. Nomadic peoples both good and evil. Some surviving modern technology while we still are practically back in the stone age.
Dadalama 4 years ago
life is very like a movie. it drags on and we tend to doze off.
quietdesperationpaul 4 years ago
thank you! i bet reliableinsider 100 bucks that someone would make that comment
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
you can't choose door number 1 without door number 2 did you read the rules?
why skirt responsibility?
zzz33333 4 years ago
Yes you had to chose both doors but if you live in a gated community you don't have to acknowledge that door number 2 exist.
crazycatfguy 4 years ago
allen i've been thinking about the gated communities, and i totally hear what you're saying. i would also add that the very fact that they are gated tells us something. after all, within those gates people breathe polluted air, and their bodies and homes experience the same ongoing toxification, and their kids kill themselves....they experience the same fragmentation and isolation.
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
yes their gates shield their eyes from some of the more visible, ugly, effects of industrial civilization...but their bodies and souls? the very fact that they think the gates can bring them something called 'security' tells us they aren't free....
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
and the name 'bill gates' just took on a deeper significance for me.... ;^)
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
Some people seem to get door number 1 wheras other people have to put up with door number 2 on their behalf. This game really sucks, bigtime.
BrightHelmVellas 4 years ago
door number 1 doesn't strike me as all that much of a prize...more like a booby prize....
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
Or a booby trap...

prezackly
pennilesscripple 4 years ago
Psst...you guys! The boobies are all behind door #1.
