  • What is the song at 1:32?

  • My face is covered in tears... :'( These short films are some of the most hard hitting work I have ever seen.

  • when I watched Biutiful by alejandro gonzalez inarritu i remembered the song he played when javier badiem's character is walking on the bridge talking on the phone. this is where i remember that tune from.

  • last scene make reminds me "burning man" same song, similar situation

  • @Absolution00216 "Man on Fire"

  • @MrIsaacSolo100 Yeahhh you're right XD

    Sorry for this mistake :)

  • 21 people fail to see the beauty in the world

  • One of the best marketing campaigns that I've seen.

  • Deep

  • 7:30

    what did he say?

  • @MrFTW733 The Driver (Clive Owen) tells Jacobs' mother that "he won the Pulitzer."

  • the man knows how to tell a story.

  • Skarsgard is an excellent actor.

  • 2nd favorite!

  • Very powerful and moving. This could've easily been a full length movie that I would've loved.

  • @SoTheDude Yes, but I doubt that it would be so powerful if it was a movie.

  • how can he get a bullet to his belly when he was runing away?

  • "My mother taught me how to see"

    o_O

    mfw she was blind...

    Best short evar!

  • Magnífico trabajo de Inárritu. Ojalá las películas nuevas fueran tan cautivantes como este corto.

  • "Why are you a photographer?"

"I don't know..cause my mom taught me to see."

    Best one thus far..

  • It's interesting that in most of these BMW commercials the use of the car is far more subtle than when they crow barred BMWs into James Bond!

  • Do you guys think the dog tags just had the photographer's name, or did they have a message?

  • @gtm3 the man probably have a message wrote in braille for his mother

  • Nice job Alejandro Gonzalesz Gonzalez rodriguez inuaturor

  • X5 owns the road

  • 20 dislikes = faggots/fangirls/fanboys who likes justin bieber...

  • Please stop shaking the damn camera

  • @DinoVincent You cant change something thats been recorded like that

  • This kind of film, the deepness and the creativity could only've been from a Mexican. Two thumbs up for Iñárritu & Arriaga

  • thx@ abmwfan i never finbd the video and you are my escape yihaaa

  • Was it made in super 8mm?

  • Great but I still not understand about the story.

  • Amazing! Thank you.

  • biutuful : )

  • Muito bom esse video. só fortalece ainda mais a marca BMW.

  • beautiful

  • Once, one blind mother asked his son to "see". Then he became war photographer so the world could see, even tough then he died because of it.

What an amazing and touching story.

  • I love this Short Film, I would love to see more

  • This is the best one of the series. In fact all the shorts are fantastic, since they are very different in style and content. Shame they have to have the BMW stigma attached to them, if not they certainly would've been award worthy. Its great that Inarritu was a part of the project, Amores Perros and 21 Grams are unforgettable cinematic experiences. Brilliant short.

  • I love how Harvey says that his mother taught him too see, and we learn later that she is blind! Brilliant film.

  • Third world country...wild wild west

  • this vid is a bit too serious, given the fact its a m´commercial...

  • @RD19902010

this video is more than a commercial my friend.. instead of criticizing what it should be you should appreciate what it is

  • @RD19902010 this is how life realy is .. it isnt some fantasy fairy tale .. this is what really happending

  • @SonOfAlvar Dont tell me how life really is.Ive lived in bloody five countries that are known for terrorism and warcrimes. I just think its too serious to just use it for a commercial....

  • great

  • @cloak002 couldn't agree more. Films don't get any more powerful than this. This film is what the craft is about.

  • @wilIiamhawthorne huh? And what exactly did you expect to see from Inarritu? This is by far the best of all BMW films and one of the most powerful, emotional shorts - commercial or not. This is Oscar class material. Do explain though.

  • This song was also in Man On Fire with Denzel Washington... so great... really brings out emotions

  • Single Manly Tear .jpg

  • @wilIiamhawthorne well... theres no particular reasons... Its mostly what you think...

  • i love the song whats the name of it again?

  • good but seemed VERY over dramatised.. They were pushing for something a little bit too meaningful for a car campaign, it did seem like it was trying very hard to be meaningful

  • this movie so freakin fake... bmw x3 and x5 have absolutely no offroad capabilities... in real life, they probably have gotten stuck in the mud and killed...

  • Damn I want to be a war photographer.

  • Trust me, mate, you really don't. The movies make it very romantic, but the truth is, the things you see stay with you forever. It was the one profession my dad wouldn't let me pursue, and having to live with him and listening to him cry in his sleep and see him wake up to nightmares all my life kind of convinced me. It's all fun and games when you're 25, but the brain chooses to remember only the ugly things when you're 65. Then you wish you would have been a farmer.

  • @paperkay Beats the shit outta taking pics of models and uninteresting sport events.

  • @THEBOXISMINE do you really? No glory in it, just pain and sorrow that will hunt you for life.

  • @THEBOXISMINE do you really? No glory in it, just pain and sorrow that will hunt you for life. That is - if you're lucky enough to survive your job.

  • @FigurativeSpeech

As long as the world has places which will haunt a person for life it should be showed so that others can be haunted by it and thereby prevent it.

A constant reminder is the only thing which will work, and thats what journalists and enviromentalists have done for years now.

What can I say, I want to shoot stuff that matters. Instead of arrogant models and photographers who leech of your knowledge. I guess im just bored of fashion and want to record history lol.

  • This song is in Man on Fire. Am i right?

  • what is the name of the song in the middle i know the artist

  • whats that song in 6:30 and up

  • If anyone wants to know the ending music - Sebastian Escofet is the artist.

  • The acting, the scenario, the picture, the music, the directing... this 10 minutes movie is much better than all the crap I've watched (and pay for) at the theater lately... Except for Inception :)

  • @seeqay Inception - greatly overrated. It won't survive the test of time. This short however...does

  • @FigurativeSpeech About Inception that is YOUR personal opinion, I have mine. But since neither of us can see into the future, I guess only time will tell.

At least we agree this short is somethning special

  • Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is a great director !

  • these short movies just make you wanna have a BMW.

  • Lois Smith FTW

  • great vid, though x5 would be one of the worst choices in a situation like this...

  • una palabra also in the last scene of man on fire no?

  • A good film but believe it or not, the trailer for this film is even better. One of the best trailers I've ever seen.

  • what is the song at 6.20 ???? pls i am searching for it for at least 5 years :( !!???

  • @AntonioR123

It's in the credits: "Una Palabra" Carlos Varela.

  • @AntonioR123

It's in the credits: "Una Palabra" Carlos Varela.

  • @AntonioR123

lol try going to imdb.com search for this movie and its credits. look for soundtrack and it should be there.

  • @MoMoney717

    out of focus backlit overexposure

  • I think every movie in the series are good!

  • awesome video! a great director indeed!

  • Alejando Inarritu.... I love all his movies!

    He's an amazing Mexican director

    Babel, 21 Grams...etc

  • This was the best one of the whole series

  • @somika87 I agree. I remember watching this in my Film class a year ago and the end is just...so sad and left me feeling why people have to kill each others... :(

  • @somika87 im sorry, no... the x5 4.4 deserved more attention

  • que fuerte ver lo que pasa en mi pais, y que genialidad que Iñarritu haga una demanda social a traves de este comercial. Es un gran director Y mexicano.

  • Everything about that film was excellante.

Though the bit were the X5 actually does some off roading was laughable.

  • This is realy realy well done! :)

  • anyone know the name of the song playing when the photographer dies?

  • @thefrozenhawaiian

    Una Palabra by Carlos Varela

  • The Name of the Song is "Una Palabra" from Carlos Varela. It's an Sountrack to the Film "Man on Fire" with Denzel Washinton.

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. i adore his movies. such a talented person.

  • Fantastic. As you would expect from the director of 21 grams

  • good work men

  • this is absolutely amazing

i got the goosebumps after watching this

    again, brilliant.

  • Seriously good directing, but the music (no offense to some of you) could be better. 5/5

  • I think the music was perfect

  • @xdemon123 I think the music is just perfect. I guess you don't speak Spanish.

  • Lol, you couldnt be more correct. I'm an asian living in Australia O_O. though i do have spanish frends

  • aghhhhh. .. that one caught me right at the throat ;(

  • sad...

  • This is dope!

  • Out of the 8 this is the Best short (at least after beat the devil)! : D Worst comercial product to sale cars D :

  • star was way better than this, but this is a close second

  • Guy Ritchie FTW

  • @boarder162 and the winner for most contradictory statement ever goes to.... boarder162!!!

  • Beat the devil was the worse one.

  • true dat

  • idk, after hearing about what the cars went through during production, with the cameras attached and all the driving, i'm wanting a BMW.

  • Ive always wanted a BMW, thats how i came to discover these short films!!

  • yo vivo onde se filmo este video :)

  • absolutely magnificent

  • very good film...excellent meaning.

  • The music score in the beginning?

  • Wich one is it mate? I have no idea.

  • A truly amazing 9 minute film!

  • Great film!, I bought these from BMW NA when they came out!

  • this is iñarritu´s best work filled with passion and sensitivity as well as a great deal os aestethics. wel done man

  • The song is "Una palabra - by Carlos Varela"

  • hermosamente genial

  • simplemente genial

  • The look on the mother's face when The Driver tells her that her son won the Pulitzer literally had me in tears. This 11 minutes is more powerful than most 2 hour features that have won Oscars that I've seen.

  • this one is so emotional

  • this is one of the the best short films ever. and the best one in the hire series.

  • I don't know whether the scene from Man on Fire is based in this or the other way around. What I do know is that one of the directors was really lazy to don't even find another appropriate song. Nevertheless it's another pretty cool BMW movie!

  • IF you dont think that this is an appropriate song for this piece then you are obviously missing the point. If you watch again, when the driver goes to the mother, he pauses before actually finishing his sentences. He cannot find words to say. Further more he says to the reporter "we made it Harvey".But Harvey is dead. So the words(palabras) are not saying anything to the dead man. as the song says una palabra no dice nada. It is very ignorant to call a director like Inarritu lazy.

  • but with the points of view and the same music it really really looks the same as in Man on Fire, can't help it either. However I didn't say this director is lazy, but one of them. I don't know which movie came out first

  • @8sinnaiG And to further that "y al mismo tiemp lo dice todo", in the verse about la mirada.. I agree completely with your point. Clever filmwork, emotional also.

  • amazing. the powder keg one always gets to me

  • his bill turner!! bootstrap turner

  • star is the best one

  • me encanto, exelente produccion, guion y musicalizacion!!! un 10

  • una palabra !!!!

    inarritu!

    fotos!! =)

  • wats the song name at the end?

  • It is una palabra by Carlos Varela. cheers..

  • the name of the song is una palabra - carlos varela i think

  • This little commercial is funny considering Inarrigu's film career is financed by the same crime syndicate that fuels the Mexican drug wars and publishes the violent comicbooks where he gets all his inspiration.

  • is it just me or is the audio tracking off?

  • Iñarritu rocks!!!

  • 2nd or 3rd time I watch this and it still reduces me to tears.

  • The scene with the mother and the driver brought me to tears.. Una palabra was an excellent choice by the way.

  • sound fucked up!

  • The song playing when the photographer dies is the same song that plays when Denzel Washington dies in the car at the end of Man on Fire.

  • NICE JOB I AM YET TO SEE THE FILM...

  • Your are right but this film was made like 1 year before Man on Fire.

  • i have no words to say......

  • Of course they're not car commercials, the whole point of these was that the directors made short films in which BMW's played the main role

  • bmw's are good actors.

  • lol

  • stiff faces tho

  • yea, they act so naturally powerfull

  • it's hard to put everything into words....

all i can say is i am deeply moved...

  • I dont think it is a car comercial at all. Actually I think BMW just helped with the production on the film, and ofcourse facilitated that little vehicle. But it never really becomes about the car. I think BMW is just helping create awearance too. That's all.

Looooove that Carlos Varela song!!!Una Palaaabra no dice nada, y al mismo tiempo, lo dice tooodo!! Every time I listen to it I get moved.

  • its not synced o well

  • BMW should change the name to WTF . Are u kidding ? The BMW'car has nothing to do here. I can not understand why a good director like Iñarritu accept to make this film . In this film they talking about something sad , about war and the way we trying to get some dignity in spite of everything . How u can mixed sadness and make a car commercial with forgein pain ! Im sorry , my english suck but i hope u got the idea . The film is great but never can be a fucking car commercial !

  • Agreeed with you... :(

  • this is why they will never let you be a judge in movie reviews. you dont think deep enough. you dont see enough. these films show how bmws are so effective, reliable and solid they are. If there was a hyundai sorrento there, it wouldnt be very drivable. Even the photographer knows that bmws are pure. he says that he has made a mess of the seats. if it was a hyundai sorrento, he wouldve said ehh :) get the idea?

  • Hey e36mmm. I got your the idea , but i guess u didnt got my point here. I saw those details , and is obvius the massage about "purity" than bmw sending here. But i wasnt talking about that. Next time try to read better and found out what im saying here, then we can get some real comunication , take care .

  • This one and Guy Ritchie's are my favorites. But this one is definitely the most moving and you can't help but feel saddened by the situation. Good short.

  • This Is the most moving one

  • I was at tears when I saw the ending.

  • This scene was in a film, Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. The music, the situation (as he lies on the back) is the same. But this one is also awesome.

  • this is by far and away the best one of them all.

  • One Word to describe this. "Awesome"

  • This has to be the best advertisement campaign I have ever seen.

  • Wow...that was powerful.

  • That was really amazing!
