  • You taught me how to loom my first scarf ! Thanks Girls!

  • Forgot to say since you make it so easy to do I have already made 3 scarfs. Its so much fun. Thanks

  • I really like how you finished your loom knitting project. It made it real easy to finish mine. I had seen others on Youtube but yours seems simple. I didn't have to go get a crochet needle since i didn't have one this worked really well. Thanks for your posting and your help. If you make anything new please post.

  • This series of videos has been the most helpful regarding using a loom to knit! I really appreciate this, as I'm just getting started myself & have never used a loom. I'm going to buy one tomorrow & get a new scarf going. Great job :-)

  • For some reason, hearing the words "Planet of the Apes" while clumsily casting off a bright blue scarf made me laugh uncontrollably.

  • is there a certain way you weave the yarn so that its tight and not loose @ Joccy101

  • I like that you didn't have the crochet needle, since I didn't know if it could be done without. this helped thanks

  • I love your videos on loom knitting so much! It helped me and my mom a lot!

    ps, I am a girl

  • Thanks so much, it really helped me... :)

  • Do you have to tuck it in ? To me it looks weird tucking it in.. Can't you just cut it..?

  • Hi, you know when you start you have to leave a piece ,what do I do withh it?

  • What is the size of the yarn you use here? I bought this exact loom this weekend but didn't realize that it was for bulky yarn. I'm going to buy different size looms anyway, but i just want to make sure this is ok for any size yarn.

Thank you so much for having made this video! This is definitely quicker and prettier than the needles or crochet. not to mention simpler. thanks! <3

  • @sirena558 I'm pretty sure she's using 4ply worsted weight yarn. But if you use 2 strands it worsted weight, it equals to bulky weight yarn.

  • @xCircusLovex thank you! already got my stuff. can't wait to get started!

  • I wanted to learn how to knit for ages and finally brought a knitting loom. The instructions were so vague so I was happy to come across your videos. They have been such a help! Thank you ♥

  • I enjoy your videos. I was confused on the wrapping part, from the paper instructions, but after watching your video, I got it! thanks

  • What do I do with the other string at the other end?

  • I finished my scarf today! :) Without your video, I couldn't have finished it! Thanks!

  • Great, I am from India and have come across this technique for the first time. Your instructions make it sound so easy...

  • How long does it take you to Finnish a scarf just like that one? Btw I love all your looming videos =D

  • Hi Joccy! thanks so much for the video. we were able to get a scarf finished that we had started. your instructions were very good and we loved the side effects! keep up the good work!

  • Hi Joccy! I hadnt loom knitted in awhile and had a project on a loom and forgot how to take it off. Yours was the first tutorial I learned from so I had to come back for a refresher. Thanks for being so clear on instructions. Are you still loom-knitting?

  • Thank you so much for this video. I have just started to make this scarf and i am almost done. but the instruction for finishing it were confusing. but this helped alot. I have tried to find other videos but so far your are the best! keep up the great work!

  • Joccy! I TOTALLY just made a scarf. I watched this video on Sunday, bought a loom, and then just finished today. I would have NEVER even bought the loom if it hadn't been for your video. Your instruction was so good and complete. Thank you SO much. I have never been able to crochet or knit with any significant success. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Best wishes, hon.

We will never meet, and yet you have given me a great gift. So awesome! :) Hearts!

  • Keep doing what you're doing sweetheart!! Thank you for showing me how to knit my first scarf!!! I'm 33 and learned to knit when I was younger, but it was a little too tedious for me. I love the loom though! And I used your video to get me and my 9 yrold daughter started. Keep it up!!!! Many blessings.

  • your vids are really helpful. thanks =)

  • heyy can u do a tutorial on how to use the two colrs of yarn like u did cuz i dont know how to do that thnx

  • ThAnKs FoR tHe HeLp.

  • YAy! I have like 5 of the loom things in my basement(relics from my childhood and my grandmother trying to get me to do something other than nag her for crochet lessons) and now i actually have a clue what to do with them, awesome! ^_^ Do you think you could make hat type things with the circular loom you have? Or any idea how? I have a thoughtline for something to make and tips on how to do that would be excellent. Nice to know someone near my age is into yarn work too! ^_^

  • oh and um, what about the OTHER loose string on the OTHER end? ( sorry for caps my comPUTER is going nuts!)

  • @princesspeach2444 i would imagine that you would do the same thing with it, weave it in and out of the scarf itself until it's invisible...

  • im 12 sooo its kinda hard when your knee hurts and your watching the lagging vid, but thx! my loom looks just like yours, but it was given to me and i have tools or info book. .-. xD but i bet your scarf turned up super, can u lift up the yarn with a sewing needle?

  • Thanks Joccy, I'm now a proud owner of one of your scarves. Having the camera angle you use has been great for me to follow instructions :)

  • Thank you for the video, it was very helpful. I have been crocheting since i was 12(now 28). I love it but I wanted to learn how to knit but I couldn't quite get with the two needles, so this is the next best thing.

  • It does help. Thanks.

  • great videos!!! Thank you so much!! :)

  • This was way better than following the pictures in the little manual my loom came with. haha Nice job, and thanks for the help. :)

  • do you do any needle-knitting, crochet or cross stitch?

  • @102202gus I do needle-knitting sometimes but I hate that it's so slow

  • @Joccy101 soooooooooooooooo true

  • @102202gus I only use a knitting needle to end the project when using a loom

  • @102202gus You should write : how to knit.. and you will see, I know you want to see Joccy101's Vids but really she dun have it ... :P

  • You have no idea of what you've done for me by uploading this video :) ! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • your great!...you helped us a lot..thank you

  • what kind of yarn are you using??

  • dear video person,

can you show me how to cast off the other way? ( 4:53 ) thanks alot!

  • oh my gosh!! Thank you thank you thank you! For some reason the directions that came with the thing are weird about the ending and I couldn't understand them. Now I can finally finish my scarf!! Thanks so much! :)

  • Thanks 4 your help you are great.

  • Thank you! I just bought the same kit, and the instruction booklet was a little dry and hard to understand. After watching your videos, I feel like I'm ready to give this a try!

Hope you enjoyed Planet of the Apes!

  • Thank you so much sweetie, Excellent job. Could not have done it without your superb instruction.

  • Your instructions are very clear. I think you are a doll, very good teacher. I am 60 and trying this for the first time. Thanks for a good lesson.

  • i didn't think anyone young like me did this sort of thing, I also like to crochet. I am 18 and don't know anyone else around my age or younger that does this. You are the first. Well done to you! :)

  • Thank you so much! I just finished the first part of my blanket. Your videos really helped me! =]]

  • You are very clear and I really like the scarf you made and the stich you used. I agree, your voice is so sweet!

    Virginia

  • It is not usual that someone so young likes this artcraft and more unusual that you take your time to share it with everybody. Your voice is so sweet and peaceful that makes it easy to understand. You are GREAT!!!!

    Thank you!!!!

    Maria

  • Yay! I finished mine with your help! Casting off was so nerve wracking! Thanks :D

  • can you cast off of the opposite end??? I think you mentioned something about it. Do I need to put it back off of the loom and finish it from the other end shown in your video? Thanks.

  • Thank you!

  • omg i love your video, it helped me soooo much. i started yesterday. and i am finished :)

    i love it thanks

  • hey. i have made 1 scarf before, and i used your vids to help me cast on and off. but i made this scarf like months ago, so i forgot how to cast off. making my first scarf took about a week. the scarf im making now has only taken me 3 and a half hours. and its only my second scarf ive ever made!!! but anyways, i love your vids and they are VERY helpful. thanks for your vids. 5 stars

  • Thank you!!!!!!! I have been looking at every video on how to end my scarf. ANd non make sense. This one does. I was sitting in front of the computer trying to end my scarf. And i did it!!!! Thank you soooo much it looks great!!

  • Hey. You rock. I have watched like all of ur videos of the looming. I dont loom but I told my dad that next time we go to Wallmart I am going to get like some looms so I can loom. I allready knit and Crosay. I am take a look at some of my videos. And coment on me and we can become friends maybe. Give each other some pointers or something.

  • This is by far one of the BEST tutorials on finishing off when using a loom. It is WAY easier to use a crochet hook (I picked up a really cheap plastic one from Walmart) to finish off so that you don't loose the yarn you are pulling through.

  • everything you say has a high pitch on the end like your asking a question...

  • Thank you Joccy:-) I had my looms for a year and just picked them up to make a scarf and came across you tutor videos which helped a lot. I love your simplicity. I have since then made two scarfs and am ready to make my third! You're a great little teacher.

  • Thanks so much girl!!!!

    Keep it up!

  • Your videos are such a HUGE help! I have shared them with my friends! Thank you!

  • thanks alot instructions can be hard at times

  • Thank you soooooooooo much. The instructions don't explain this very well. plus I lost them :)

  • your videos are the best and easiest to learn from! Thanks! Keep em coming! I'm gonna subscribe!

  • Thank you, this was a super simple instruction on casting off on a loom. You would think the instruction sheet that comes with the looms would help, but no. Way to go!!!

  • Fantastic - even after I purchased my materials I came back to yur site for instructions. That nonsence that they give with the looms is impossible to understand. You are great!!!!!!

  • great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very good. Some of the instructors work and talk very fast and ou are left looking at the screen and saying duh? I plan on buying a loom tomorrow and doing this project. You make me feel confident that this can be a fun waay to crochet. I have Multiple Sclerosis and using the traditional crochet hook can sometimes be very difficult.

  • Thanx ...awesome

  • Awesome tutorial! I was totally stuck as to how to cast off. I came across your video and it turned out beautifully!

  • Thanx! The stupid instructions did not word the ending very well! You really helped! Good job! =) Thanx again! Do you know how to make a purse?

  • oh wow yes this made sooo much more sense!, um so are you going to post any other patterns?

  • Thank you so much for your video. It was so

helpful. You made it look so easy compared

to the instructions with loom. Way to go!!!

  • Very helpful! Thanks so much!

  • Great Job Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.

  • Joccy:

  • I just make them until they are the right size.

  • I just started knitting and you actually helped teach me with your tutorials and I apprecaite the video;s!! Will look to you for more help! Thanks bunches!!

  • I was impressed with your tutorials. It was great that you improvised when you didn't have a crochet hook. By the way, I have LOTS of hooks since I'm an avid crocheter and I'd be glad to send you a few. I'm looking forward to more videos!

  • Great to see your video and it is so helpful. I was going to make a trip to the craft store but with evening here along with a cast on my foot I am glad I found you. So thankful for your help.

  • Thank you so much for your tutorials. I am finally able to use this loom I bought months ago. I surf Youtube frequently for instructions on how to use it, but only after watching your tutorials was I able to figure it out, your video quality is much better then most.

  • how can i cast off a scarf withou having to hide yarn if going from right to left thanks

  • INCREDIBLY helpful!! I'm going to try it now, for the first time! I'll let you know how it goes :D

  • Thanks so much :D

I've been using a circular one for a while, but was having trouble with my straight one :(

    Thanks For the Help :D

  • I am thinking about taking up the hobby of loom knitting. My sister has one and it looks so fun!

When casting off, can you tie the yarn around that last loop before weaving it in and out of the scarf just to make sure that it won't come out?

  • of course!

  • Thank you very much for this video! I would have been truly lost without it! :-)

  • thanks sooo much i watched all your knitting videos with a loom and i cannot knit regularly but i can do it with a loom and do you know how to put fringe on the end if you can

  • I don't, but yo can always google it :)

  • I think u did a really good job explaining this. I have always been a crocheter cause I always ended up with my knitting needles really far abart. Again Thank you

  • Never could have made my scarf without your help,,,,thank you!

  • I barelly bought a Knifty Knitter rectangular loom this past Friday, and I couldn't find any decent patterns online. Then I found your channel. With just the three vids about casting on, working the loom, and casting off, I'm proud to say that I finished my own 63" scarf for my little brother. :) Thanks for the vids and the 411 on the facebook group.

  • For Christmas, my niece Mona bought her sister JOCELYN a knitting loom. Jocelyn picked it up instantly and (I think) easily, and made a scarf in a day! I got a loom for myself and it's not been all that easy for me. Just now thought of checking Youtube -- and found YOU Joccy! Great Job - thanks so much for the very helpful videos!

  • Great video! I want to get a straight loom now, but I did start a tube scarf last night and I can't figure out how to cast off on a circular loom. Any chance you can do a tutorial on how to do this? I like your videos the best regarding how to use looms! :)

  • Yes I can. Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks!

  • i just started doing loom knitting and your videos are the best.

    thanks

  • thank You!

  • Only a few months doing this? Awesome! I really appreciate your mistakes as they help when I get stuck then I just remember what you did. Your vids are so apprecited! Keep on going girl, yours are great!!

  • How do u use two different yarns as you did in your scarf? I saw u only had one piece of yarn for the tail. Usually when I start I wrap both pieces round the outside peg but it never seems to come out right. I just started a few wks ago Im on my 4th scarf. this one is coming out alot better than the last 3(only cause im using 1 strand of bulky). but yea please explain how to use 2 different yarns. Thanks a bunch!

    Anthony.

  • how long did you make your scarf?

  • Around 4 feet

  • umm how long did it take you to make this?

  • About 4 hours while watching tv

  • this was so helpful! i got a rectangluar loom and just needed a refresher on how to use it. you were very helpful!

  • Thanks, I do not have a Loom: as I'm one who crochets (I learned to Crochet when I was 10 years old). However this seams to simplify Knitting & I like knitted hats & scarves: so much easier, so maybe I will get one of these on Ebay!!

  • I have the same loom! I just got it for christmas yesterday! You rock at doing that! I didn't know how until i saw your video , thank you.

  • i saw another video that if you start on the opposite end then you get the final loop right next to the string. not sure which is better.

  • i am looking how to start cast off at opposite end and was wondering what video that was to end up with loop and same end as the string

  • Thanks so much for your video on how to cast off the loom. My girlfriend just started doing this and couldn't remember how her friend showed her to do it. She was just about to throw the loom accross the room when I found your video. It was great and she was able to finish the scarf. It was a great video with great instruction and production quality. Keep up the great work!

  • thank you so much!! this helped me and my sister learn how to do it the right way!! we looked through SOOOO many videos and your is the only one who actually explained it the right way!! thanks!!!

  • Wow! You are so awesome for putting this on here, seriously! This video helped me sooo much!! Thank you! :D

  • ya,its a good video and it helps but how do you start it? It would help me a lot more if i knew

  • Thanks so much for the videos! The instructions I got with my loom were so confusing and I'm pretty sure they were actually wrong in some parts...your instructions definitely helped :)

One thing I would suggest though is at the end when you weave the loose end in, I tied it into a knot at the end just to make sure it wouldn't come loose or poke out or anything. The knot is really small and hardly noticeable.

  • THank you soooo much! I tried to figure it out, but I lost my instructions ^^'

Thanks a lot you just helped me finish my Christmas present for my grampa!

  • Thanks for the post. I have a problem...I have knitted 5 strips and have found that randomly the pattern changes. You know how there's a front and back pattern, well it seems to flip flop randomly throughout the strip. Have you experienced this before? If yes, how do I NOT do this....??

    Thanks.

  • I haven't experienced this, sorry I couldn't help.

  • Nicely done... Keep it up!

  • AHH Im going to buy a loom now.. T_T I saw it at Walmart and WAS about to buy it...but then I was thinking IF it was hard to do..but now you persuaded me to go @_@

  • Very understandable directions. Thanks for the vid.

  • This is an excellent video. Thank you so much Joccy101.

  • Thank You!!!! you explained so well, I was looking for something like this to finish !

  • how do you attach these pieces together to make something larger like an afghan? thanks.

  • I would just sew the pieces together.
