hey i just signed up for car domain cause i seen your car. I have the exact car year in all but I have a 350 motor and HP350 turbo with a 1800 still but I havent put that one in yet. Im still using my other tranny 350 turbo 3 speed auto as well. as of right now im using shorty headers flow tech. I want long tubes but i can find any that will fit in my car with out cuting the frame! do you know of any long tubes that will work with my car?

hey man i have a 2.8l 1984 sport coupe. is the conversion to a 383 hard? i wanna do it paired with a tranny and rear end all in one go... not sure how much id be looking at and the difficulty...

it shouldn't be really hard. the unibody is the same on all the 82-92 camaros. the only differences are the ground effects and brakes, rear disc or drum, or 1LE. but the conversion might not be legal depending on the state. but here in md. put historic tags and do whatever. you really need a donor Z28. use the trans, crossmember, and driveshaft. it should bolt on, the bellhousing should bolt to most small block chevys. if you are making a drag car go with a t56, or built auto, skip the 5spd.

hey outlaw im getting a 82 berlinetta camaro in like 3 months, 2.5L I4 4 speed manual tranny, silver original paint/interior, i was just wondering would it be worth it to put 10K into it in upgrades like bigger motor(350) with a 5 speed manual or should i just kepp it almost all stock, but the reason why i want to swap motors is cuz its slow as turtles, like i mean a turtle could make its way down the 1/4 mile faster then the car

@mclajam327 some of the 4 cyclinder models have a subframe. idk if yours does or not. the v8 motors mount differently. it would be easier to get one with a v6 or v8 already, but that swap is doable. id say go with an auto, if you want a drag car. the five speeds dont last in racing apps. ive got a 91 RS 5spd. the trans is the second weakest link next to the chassis. now the cars on blocks and awaiting the rebuild. which costed $750 in parts. im doing the labor. so that would be a lot at aamco.

do a compression test to the hole you think is bad, then add a little oil to that same hole and see if there is a difference. if so you may have bad rings.if not bad valves.

i dont really understand what your saying, the body is the same for all platforms it just lacked the ground effects, the taillights had a gold bar separating the lights horizontaly, and the front clip is different. and of course the badging. what do you mean? i was not aware they naturally sat higher than the other sport coupes of that year from the factory, but im wrong quite often

Thats because there were no ground effects or preformance suspension packages for the berlinetta you buthead! Berlinetta is the lower model, luckily this one is built like a monster.

I had a 1984! it was my first car, it was given to me when my grandmother had her lisence taken away at the ripe old age of 80. it was just about dead but what a blast it was to drive through high school. it had the all digital dash and the fuel guage bouced from top to bottom every day of the 5 years i drove it. it actually handled well for being as old and worn as it was. i still have the digital cluster in my shed, i just couldnt bear to part with it lol

I drove an 82 down here in New Zealand back in 1995. It was a stock standard 305 model, except the previous owner had dropped a strong normally aspirated 350 into it, and had it lowered. It stuck to the road like shit to a blanket. I was only 23 years old at the time, sometimes i used to pretend i was driving a NASCAR....... bad eh..... but it was so cool to drive.... now i drive a late model GM Holden fuel injected 5 litre, nice technolgy - but just not quite the same rough and ready muscle..

Well guys, some bad news. The engine went out about 6 months ago. I was driving to my dads "about 150 mils from where i live" and hot roding a bit when two rods desided to blow. It broke the crank in half and distoryed the block. so no more 383. But as a lot of poeple are asking me. Heres some hints on whats going on. 1. ls2 carbed 2. t-56. Now im not going to just spill my guts and kill the suprize so stay tuned to the OutLawRacer and see what happends
